I explained how "conversation" worked. When I talk, you listen, and vise versa. It was at this point she hung up. Worst experience ever! Bought 3 bottles for my birthday online around 4pm for a pick up at 6-7pm for the same day. They accepted the order and i was charged, once i got there and waited for about 20min, they said the order is not yet completed and that they will let me know when it is done ( 3 bottles need to be put in a paper bag, not really sure how that can not be done in less than 5minutes) I got an email that my order was completed and that i can pick it up at 8pm when they are already closed. Plus they didn't even have the main bottle they said they have 20 in stock at this location... so a plain lie. Now the fun process of 'refund' shall begin. I was on the 47 on van ness and thirsty as hell from eating at Lemongrass two hours before. I see bevmo and thought "hey I can use some water so I got off the bus to get me some water." I went in and I was the only customer with like 4 guy workers. I asked if they have water and one of them pointed to the little refrigerator by the cashier. We live close and stop by pretty often. I have 1 major problem with this store. The sale price listed in the store never matches what shows up at the register. We've lost count of how many times this has happened but because it's the closest shop, we stop by pretty often. In the beginning, we thought it was an honest mistake but we're fed up. We usually realize the error after we've been rung up. And almost every time, they ask that we snap a photo, bring it up to the register in order for them to credit us the difference; waste of our time when it's their error. Advice, snap a photo of every sale item that you purchase and check your receipt because it takes longer to reverse the error. If possible we try to avoid this store for that reason. read more

Today approx 4:55 PM I went to buy a $49 dollar bottle of French champagne. There was a long line and only one register open. I asked a person of color with blue braids at a different register if they were open that person seemed, frankly, catatonic. I waited a couple of minutes in the no-moving long line. I asked another employee who looked like a manager but wasn't- if they would be opening another register. The staff had a pow-wow to decide if they'd be opening another register. Ridiculous. I threw up my hands, placed the bubbly on a closed countertop, left that store 10 minutes later I was in line at Trader Joes California at Hyde buying the same French champagne but it was $3 cheaper. The modern customer has options and we use them. Get your staffing together I refuse to wait in one long line to buy booze when the place is crawlign with staff- are you guys serious?! read more

BevMo makes me want to scream every time I go in. So much selection and the prices are unreal. As an Ontario citizen under the yoke of the godawful provincial monopoly, places like BevMo make you wish we had the same. Zero points to one person working there. He was blocking an aisle, looking at something on the shelf. I needed to get by him and so I politely said "excuse me." No reply. A little louder: "Excuse me." Still no reply. A small tap on the shoulder, "excuse me." He whirled around and snapped that he was busy and would help me later. I told him all I needed was for him to get out of my way. I definitely loved the size and selection here. I wasn't too sure which wine I wanted, but a guy here definitely knew what he was talking about. He directed me to a French wine and told me the history about it as well as the description of the taste. There was no way I could turn it down after all that and now I have a new favorite to look out for in stores. A man named Trent/Clint/Clinton/Trenton (couldn't hear on the phone) was super helpful for me, I put on a fundraiser event and he helped me put together a custom order with a great discount and a great attitude. This store is exactly what you may think it is, being on Van Ness in San Francisco, kind of a dump. On 10/10/22, I was in a long line of about 20 customers trying to check out at the register, and there was only one of the four registers open. The manager walked by and I asked him if they were going to open another register. He said "no, there's nothing we can do". No regret, no customer service skills in any way. The line did get shorter fairly quickly because people were abandoning the line and leaving, including me. read more

I love coming here for the nickle wine tasting hosted by James every Friday. Where in SF can you find a flight of 6 wines (3 red and 3 white) and 1 champagne for 5cents! Also, James makes the wine tasting worthwhile. He has a fan club! I purposely ask for his advice on wine gifts for friends and co-workers ...however, something has changed. It's usually crowded and people typically can't fit in the belted area but these past two Fridays it's been empty! The regulars are gone. The mood has changed. They consistently try to overcharge you at the register. Pay attention! Last time when I bought a bottle of wine I accidentally noticed they were trying to charge me more than the price tag was saying. A couple of bucks more. I complained and the manager apologized and gave me the correct price. Today I had made a mental note to check prices. I bought two bottles of wine. Two different kinds. Guess what? One was $1 more expensive and the other one $2 more expensive at the register. Of course if you complain, they adjust the prices right away, but most customers don't notice the difference and I wonder how much more I payed over the years shopping at this store. read more

Drove into parking lot, took elevator to store level, got basket walked by group of staff chatting who said nothing to me. Loaded cases of water into basket and walked to registers but no one was at one. A dark long haired dude tells me they dont open for 15 more minutes and asked how i entered. Ok so none of this is my fault or should be my problem. They screwed up and they handled horribly. Rude unprofessional and zero desire to fix a simple screwup of theirs but they did nothing but waste my time, energy and now have a reason to not shop here anymore. Not right, not professional. Pre-order drinks for an event. Since I needed a lot of ice I scheduled a pick up right before my event started. Bevmo team completely messed up, nothing was ready for pick up and it was no more ice available which sounds insane. Ruined the first hour of my event, lost $100... On top of that: -Bevmo Club thing is a joke. Bevmo Club prices are regular prices... -Online payment is such a pain... -I had to call my bank in order to allow them to use my Visa... I just couldn't let it go, I tried but I HAVE to write this review. So for the birthday party where I officially turn 30 something, I have got to get 2 kegs of Miller products. We go to BevMo which is semi close to my home. The party was great but we basically had one full keg afterwards. Six days and many many many more Dixie cups later, we are emptying the last six gallons into milk jugs and sticking them into the fridge. Time to return kegs and get our deposits back. Here is the shit show. So I paid for one of the kegs with accompanying deposit for the tap, keg, bucket. Theron did the same for the other keg. He unfortunately couldn't be there when we return everything to get our deposits back. Here lies the big effing problem. 1. One of the taps didn't fit either keg. (we had to finish one keg and switch taps) 2. There is no receipt for the other tap (because Theron was out of town) 3. The store lost some form that we ever got a second tap. 4. So they refused to take the tap ....at first. They do agree that the kegs are theres because of some tracking number stickers that are on the kegs. So I calmly explain that they can pull up the purchase record of the MGD keg and they will see that there was also a record of a tap deposit. The manager was really racking his brain to find some sort of record to prove the tap came from the store but the other person was soooooooooo effing sure that we were trying to rip them off by returning a tap that wasn't theirs. He really didn't want to check the computer for the purchase record either. By the end, he was practically yelling at me for not having the other receipt. Finally the manager asked if my purchase was directly before or after Theron's on the same cash register and I said yes. He went to the back and checked the computer. He came back, acknowledged that the store had lost the paperwork about the second tap and apologized. 1. Nobody apologized for giving us the wrong tap. 2. Nobody apologized for basically calling us thieves trying to give them a tap that wasn't theirs. I would rather quit beer before coming back to BevMo for kegs (at least the one on Van Ness). Very poor form, BevMo. I'm disappointed. read more

How do you know you're a lush? Just look at my basket on a BevMo run :) I realized recently that my wine racks were looking "a bit" bare lately. In fact a bit was an understatement, them things was empty and since I didn't want my wine racks to develop a complex and feel like they were just taking up space and not doing their job, I decided to give them some new bottles to hold and keep watch over, cuz that's the kinda gal I am :) And so my friend, her pug Jumbo Jack and I hopped in the ride and headed to BevMo on Saturday. I was delighted to see that there was actually a huge parking structure for free..a true rarity in this city! This was great since we were planning on stockin' up and carrying boxes is no fun. Once we got into the store, we each grabbed a little green cart and went to it. I grabbed a few interesting sounding selections for the sale racks and then headed for the spicy full-bodied reds and the crisp, dry whites. $300 later, my racks are looking great and while I definitely felt my bank account cringe (a lot) when I told it we were going to spend that much on wine, I also rationalized it with the fact that I got 22 bottles of yummy wines and won't be spending as much drinking out, so screw it, I can live with it. And cook with it. And get buzzed with it. So win-win. Will I be back? Of course! The store is laid out well, the selections were pretty good and the staff was friendly and helpful and there were some cute guys and girls roaming the store as well. BevMo on Van Ness is great. First of all, it's a couple blocks from my place, so perfectly located for me. When I feel like grabbing a beer before going home, or even a whole keg, that's my to-go place. I actually have a keg on whole for tonight. And one on hold for the Super Bowl. PARTY TIME! Also, they have a selection of Canadian Beers. I know right, how smacking of is that?? I mean, I can get a Molson Canadian or a Labatt Blue without having to fly home? PARTY TIME! Then, they have the cutest selection of sodi-pops and sell them by the unit. All kinds of root beers, strawberry sodas, orange creams , even chocolate soda! It makes me feel like a tween again wanting to start a bottle collection! PARTY TIME! The only weird thing about this BevMo is the staff.. Last time I was their, the cashier asked me if I had blue hair. Hum... No. Awkward. . . . The thought that one may be an alcoholic is one that pops into lots of peoples head at one time or another. Come on, we've all been there; lounging about in Union Square, trying on various clothes and shoes when you spy a homeless man nearly passed out drunk with a big, plastic jug of Popov Vodka wrapped tightly in his anaconda-like arms. Such a shame, you think to yourself, such a shame that it isn't YOUR vodka. And that's when desperation strikes; with no decently priced liquor stores around, you decide to steal his Popov. A quick struggle ensues, profanity and punches alike are thrown around like paper airplanes in a fourth grade classroom and before you know it, you're lying on the ground, punch-drunk. Thankfully, BevMo is there to help: no longer must you go into overpriced liquor stores with next to no choices... NO! Now you may go to a liquor WAREHOUSE and buy all the alcohol you could ever desire. You'll find types of liquor you never even knew existed, all for cheaper than you'd find anyplace else. Do NOT order anything for delivery from these guys - unless you want to be given a delivery time and wait several hours beyond that with absolutely no notice or idea when your order will arrive. I ordered alcohol for delivery, and it hadn't arrived (ordered several hours ago) so I called the store a half hour ago...I was told by a woman who answered the phone that it was picked up by a delivery driver 20 minutes before that (50 minutes ago). I just called back and was told by a man who answered the phone that it wasn't picked up yet, then when I said I was told a half hour ago that it was picked up 20 minutes before that, he said it was picked up already and I was told the ETA is 5:34. I have no idea why the stories keep changing but I'm inclined to believe that it was actually never picked up. And where did 5:34 come from? Lol. I think the guy made it up. I don't like the inconsistent stories. It's just really unprofessional. I've had better luck with mom and pop shops for delivery. I paid $10 for delivery and a tip for the driver for this crappy service...so not worth it. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. I will not be ordering from Bev Mo again. So far have to say this BevMo is A-OK. Was looking for Three Olives Vanilla Vodka to mix up some Chocolate Martinis & they didn't have it at all.....not even part of their stock. They had almost every other flavor known to man & I did find another brand of vanilla vodka so at least I got what I went to get.....but was hoping for Three Olives Also been known to swing by & grab some of my fav beer from time to time (Chocolate Stout) While I'm much more a fan of the Colma location - b/c it's actually closer for me than snaking through the City, plus there's tons of parking & I can load up the trunk w/ ALLLL those heavy bottles, gotta say for a quick walk-by to grab a little something something, this place is A-OK read more

No bags!!! What good is it to have a lot of variety in drinks, if when you pay you don't have the option to buy something with handles to take your drinks home? All they offer to carry your stuff is a box, that's fine for people driving, but if you are walking a box is useless. So unless you only want one or two things, or unless you are driving, I suggest you skip BevMo and go to Whole Foods on California and Van Ness, or to Royal Liquors on Pine and Polk. Both of those places have a good selection, and they have bags with handles to carry your selection after you shop there. read more

Bevmo manager in Canoga Park tried to refuse my return (of two bottles of wine, Really?) claiming that I had to return the opened, partially drunk, bottles to prove I was "dissatisfied" (claiming it was Alcohol Bev Control rules REALLY???). I pointed out that I could be fined up to $250 for transporting an open container in my SUV*. He claimed that it is "fine as long as it is in the back.". Wrong again. Without going into all the details of how ill informed this BevMo manager was, or what kind of laws he is suggesting Bevmo customers break, I'm taking the much easier road of not shopping there any more. I will stock my pantry from vendors who hire knowledgeable representatives and follow their store return policies. CA Vehicle Code sections 23221-23229 "under state law, must be stored trunk of a vehicle or, in trunkless vehicles, an area where it's inaccessible to seated riders." My job drives me to drink. It's true. Thank goodness they opened a new Bev Mo just 15 paces from the front door of my office, so that I can spend my lunch hour immersed in a land filled with stress-drowning possibility! This space was previously a Warehouse Music store, with a gym called Body Tonic above it. I think that Bev Mo is what the neighborhood needs much, much more. I am SO GLAD that I don't have to trek up to Whole Foods for an overpriced gift bottle of wine when I need one. This store is new, clean, and well-stocked, with tons of specials written in clean block letters. Aside from the obvious alcohol, Bev Mo carries the following useful items: - Sassy cocktail napkins - An assortment of cheeses and salsa - Hapi Snacks (rice crackers, I am partial to the Tokyo mix) - Dr. Brown's sodas - Cheerwine (hello, North Carolina!) - Caviar And for the ultimate experience, check out the selection of Minis - yes, those mini alcohol bottles that just scream cuteness and make the perfect stocking stuffer. Great for picnics or school lunches. They are displayed on a rotating stand, that I like to call the Carousel of Fun. Wheeeeee! For the longest time, this little Bevmo and I shared a secret. While the rest of the city went for the closest liquor store, spending 15+ minutes to locate parking on top of the 5 it takes to walk back once they find a temporary haven to leave their car without risking the mephistophelean meter maids who with such fervency hand out tickets to compile their list of accomplishments for the day.... we would drive into the discreet parking lot attached to the Bevmo and take the elevator downstairs. I was alittle overwhelmed but happy. I walked out with nice bottle of Sake and Vodka from Finland and then I saw my favorite sparkling wine Roti I was so happy that they sell it because I only able to get it a Trader Joe's. As I was looking at the price of it I was surprise and put it back. I can it at Trader Joe's for like $7 bucks and at Bev Mo it was something like $20 uummmmm,,,,, So as I was checking out the saleslady asked for my ID I was like surprised. Bevmo! Bevmo! Bevmo! (that's supposed to be a chant) I LOVE this bevmo! I've been able to find Wailua Wheat Beer from Kona Brewing Company TWICE! It's my favorite beer (wheat ale brewed with passionfruit) and it's pretty hard to find this early on in the year (it's a summer brew), but this Bevmo delivered! I've also recently been on a piña colada binge (I miss the sun and beach- that's why I'm drinking all these fruity, exotic drinks) and the employees at Bevmo helped me find what I needed to concoct a delicious one! They also have all sorts of non-alcohoolic goodies, including snacks, sodas, juices and (bev)mo! The bevmo card is yet another amazing facet of this company- it saves you moolah and keeps you coming back. It's also a perk that it's within walking distance from my home...
