Time after time, I've given this place a second chance due to horrific customer service - thinking, "Hey! Maybe not everyone hates their job, their life, and - most of all - their customers?!" Plus, it's super convenient for me. But upon receiving increasingly worse customer service with each visit to this location, the straw(s) finally broke this camel's back - and propelled me to write my first-ever negative review on Yelp! (Yes, it took a lot.) I work in the libation (and food) sales business and cross paths with similar folk (as well as like-minded customers) all day long and I can't tell them quickly enough to avoid Bevmo AT ALL COSTS. After entirely too many foolish second chances, I'm taking any and all business elsewhere - and if you're reading this, do yourself a favor and do the same. There are so many other options nearby - and hell, you'll probably find better prices, too. (To be clear, the service is specific to this store. I went to buy a bottle of liquor. The Target in the same shopping center sold it for a dollar cheaper so I asked if they'd price match. She said "no sorry, we only price match to Total Wine". Turns out Total Wine sold it for 4 dollars cheaper. I thought, score! She said "oh sorry I can't price match after all that because it's lower than our cost". Obviously, this makes zero sense to me but I asked if I could have the dollar cheaper that Target offered instead than and she said "No sorry, we only price match to Total Wine". You buy a 40-ounce Wild Cat because it is the cheapest thing to drink at the WE-HO Bev Mo, at a mere $1.49. It's also sort of fun to drink from a paper bag once in a while. The first sip is delicious--rich and almost woody, but in a good way. Not like licking furniture at all. The second sip is less delicious--you wonder: Does it taste the way the high-school biology lab smelled? The third sip is once again delicious, because you imagine that you have overreacted to the second sip, perhaps under the watchful eyes of your snickering friends. The fourth sip reveals nothing new; your friends have moved on to ridicule American Idol contestants, and now you're left with a hundred or more sips, depending on your enthusiasm, and the beer is slowly warming. By now, your headache has undoubtedly begun. Faint at first, almost like an emerging sixth sense; you tilt your head. Is it telepathy? TK? Is this dull, loosely disoriented ache the hidden powers of the human brain being released? No. Wild Cat contains so much formaldehyde that it could almost be used as a pesticide. I am a loyal Bevmo customer who was having some issues getting a large order in and was having to drive to all the locations around the Los Angeles/Weho/Hollywood area trying to get a ton of beverages and mixers for a party ***after 4th of July Holiday. Nobody was able to help at any of the locations and it was very frustrating having had Bevmo do many events for me the last 10 years or so...Probably even longer. I was finally back at where I started at the Weho location and two very helpful associates names Monet and Kristina finally helped me for a very long time and put the order together for me and got it all loaded into my car. An extreme amount of product to be pulled and discussions to be had and they were so kind and patient and even helped load up the truck when the 4 very large dollies were brought to the loading dock. Thank you again Monet and Kristina! (Also the manager on duty that day (who's name escapes me) was also kind enough to cover for them while they hooked me up and got all that I needed. On general principal I normally avoid this whole shopping complex. Why? Well the parking is strange and you seem to have to take a different sort of entrance to everything here. Target has its own elevators, so does Best Buy. So does Bevmo? You're too damn confusing for a dude who is after specialty booze! I do give them credit. After much searching, I found what I was looking for here. Three Olives Root Beer Vodka. No, it doesn't have Olives in it. Okay, maybe it does. It also has cherry and vanilla in here. But it doesn't taste like that.. it taste like root beer! Yeah, that's right. It's ROOT BEER flavored VODKA. As in, this is not for making a root beer float you'd get at A&W. I first stumbled on this creation on a random trip to Arizona at a bar that had the offering of a Root Beer White Russian. Oh man, Let me tell you, this dude abides. I have loved me some Caucasians for a long time now. I also love me root beer floats. Love them so much that if I see a Stout Float on the menu of a place, I will buy it. I also typically drink a root beer float every couple of weeks. So what's the verdict? Damn good stuff in a Caucasian. Oddly enough, I did end up getting a Sioux City Sarsaparilla in my trip here as well. Clearly I've become an little Lebowski Urban Achiever. What can I say, that's a mighty fine Sarsaparilla. Which just goes to show you that you can get a good amount of non-alcoholic drinks here for those of you abstaining from party liquors. But for those of you who don't mind getting a little toxins in you, they seem to have it in spades. Though careful what you buy off the shelf. I noticed some cans of Maui brewed coconut porter and other Maui Brewing Co. beers just sitting on the shelf. Get it together, BevMo. Don't you read the cans? they say on them "LIVE BEER, KEEP REFRIGERATED" Maui Brewing Co. mandates refrigerated storage with ALL of their distributors so the beer is always kept cold on the long journey. That is to say that canned beer isn't bad if treated right. It can keep out light and if kept cold, keep the beer fresh. Though I found this to be true of this BevMo.. not even knowing what's in the store. The cashier asked me if I was going to put the Vodka into root beer. Whaaaa? Isn't that a bit redundant? It already has Root Beer in it. It's like putting Mayo on a tuna fish sandwich, it already comes with mayo! They really should give you perks if you work here.. as in teach their employees what alcohol is what so they can better make suggestions. My last question to BevMo is.. Why do you keep losing my BevMo card information. It seems that every time I shop at BevMo they can never find my information up by my phone number even though I just re-signed up for the last time I bought booze. I'm sure I have enough points in my multiple purchases to get some bonus prize but since I have to reset every time.. Nothing! So really, the only reason why this gets two stars is that it had my special type of Vodka in stock and I'm enjoying a Root Beer Caucasian now. Do NOT use this BevMo location. We placed an order for drive up and this location gave no instructions in the email on where to go for pick up. We called after wandering around the parking lot for ten minutes looking for a labeled BevMo pick up spot and were given instructions to pull near the loading dock. We then waited another 20 minutes for our order to be brought out, it still wasn't, so we ended up calling the location again. They finally brought it out to us after that second call. I love Bevmo for their purchase-online-pick up-in-store thingy. I don't like crowds, I don't like west Hollywood, and I don't like people. This seemed like the only option when I needed my fix on scotch. It was a special scotch that isn't available everywhere, so Bevmo was my only option. Not only did they have my Glenlivet Nadurra [YUM] but I was able to order it online, and pick it up a couple hours later. No lines, not waiting, and very minimal interaction with people. I love going to BevMo whether to try something new or pick up one of my favorite items that is rare to find. This place has a wide range of selections, as other reviewers have mentioned. I will say it is a little pricey, but in some cases when you can't find certain items anywhere else in town it is worth that extra price. Keep in mind that they do have some great sales (including the 5 cent wines sale!!!), so keep your eyes open for any deals they may be having. I have found some really good wine on sale numerous times. Not only do they have a wide range of selection as far as alcohol goes, but they also carry glassware, wine openers and various other accessories for all of the alcohol consuming needs! I agree that parking is a bit of a pain since the closest guaranteed parking is the garage used for Target/Best Buy. BUT at least the parking garage is free for the first 30 minutes. AND there are a number of other good shops in the shopping center it is located in, so you could very well pick up other items you may need from surrounding tenants. Ladies and gentemen, I have something to confess. I've been seeing beers behind my wife's back. A few nights ago, I hung out with a Mexican blonde (Corona), and then I followed that up with a German brunette on my lap (Schwarze-bier dark beer). I bet if my wife came home and saw me sipping a Fat Tire, she'd scream, "What?! I thought I was the only redhead in your life!" Should my wife kick me out for my love of beer, at least I know where to go to find my way back in her good graces, and that is Bevmo. As you Yelpers probably know already, my dear wife Tracy is a self-confessed "wino", and she loves going to Bevmo for the huge selections of wine and the great 5-cent wine sales. I think what she really loves the most is that she can enjoy those wine tastings on Saturdays knowing I'll be the designated driver! It doesn't mean I'm bored even one bit, because while she gets to try wonderful wines with some cheese and crackers, I get to peruse the rows and rows of wonderful lagers, pilsners, ales, stouts, porters, and microbrews that are regular staples of Beverages and More. If there is a more impressive collection of alcohol in a 10,000 square-foot area, you'd have a hard time finding it. The store may seem a little pricey overall, but they do have specials on certain brands from time to time, and sometimes what you find on sale is an item that you'll be glad you tried out. They don't have a 5-cent sale for beer, but if they did, I think there would be more beer bottles than wine bottles in our apartment! If you want a little cheese to go with that wine, don't forget to check out the cool selection of cheeses, meats, crackers, and other snacks. The selection is good, but here is where it gets pricey enough that you might be better off stopping at a grocery store to save some money, especially if you're heading to the Hollywood Bowl and need some extra parking money. Bevmo is a great place to expand your knowledge of whatever alcoholic drink you enjoy, and to venture into an unknown part of the alcoholic world. Want to try a rare whiskey from an obscure part of Europe? Are you surprised to see a certain flavor of liqueor you thought never existed? Are you brave enough to try what's in a bottle, even if you can't read the language? There's no substitute for going out into the world to try the "local" alcohol, but Bevmo IMO is a good substitute. Fairly good selection of liquor and even better for beer, maybe not overall up to the standards on the west side of town (Wine House, Wallys) or even wandering to the east to K&L wines, but good for us WestHollywoodites to get our fix without travelling too far. They have a club card which I mention only because it is nice and thin so it doesn't take up much space in your wallet! I still await something in the mail for my $250 level reward, I wonder if they really keep this up to date since I'm sure I've spent more than $250 by now (the reward is 5% off your next purchase or something minor like that anyway). My only gripe is they have crackers but they don't have bread. Why not carry some baguettes and loaves from La Brea Bakery? I can't make do with just crackers (for the cheeses they sell). Walk up to Ralphs for the bread I guess. I'm adding an update that I'm finding that their hard liquor selection is pretty darn good. Maybe you'll find more - say - mezcals elsewhere but you will find plenty of choices in gins and tequilas, for example. read more

This BevMo store is large and well laid out. It also has a refrigerated section for cheeses, etc. Not all BevMo stores have this. The staff is friendly enough. Merchandise is easy to find. BevMo is located in a plaza with multiple stores, so it's easy to multitask and shop at more than one store in the same visit. parking - there is a large, underground garage that offers 1 hour of free parking. And there is an elevator from the garage that takes you directly up to BevMo -cool! read more

Who'da thunk it that someone can not only make a chain out of a liquor store, but class it up as well? Beverages & More, or BevMo for the attention-deficit generation, is like a liquor store but different in many ways: it doesn't sell single cigarettes, it has good prices -- at least on spirits, and it is also a party supply place, stocked with cheeses, glassware, chips and even obscure sodas. The relatively new West Hollywood location is very clean, has one of the best merchandise layouts of any big box store, and while the prices are premium for most goods, the selection is great. The beers are not cheap, but BevMo is the alcoholic equivalent of a record store with a deep catalog. It carries an amazing variety of microbrews and foreign beers, as well as the more obscure varieties from major brewers such as Sam Adams and Pete's Wicked. The prices on high-octane booze are great. Most of them are discounted for BevMo club members only, but getting the card is worth it. The prices for cheeses and chips are as high as a mom-and-pop liquor store, and you'd save money by going to the several markets within one mile of the store, or Target next door. The parking is surprisingly low-hassle, but paying for parking at a machine near the elevators rather than at the exit gate is a new, strange experience. Or, eschew the parking and go Metro -- or WeHo, via its two-bit City Line. It's a quarter, but its oriented towards West Hollywood's large senior population and stops running early. I am going to give BevMo five stars for one reason and one reason only: They carry Fernet Branca. I spent close to three months in Buenos Aires and when I was there, I had a torrid love affair with this liquor. Now, it may not be everyone's cup of tea but for me, it's heaven in a bottle. I love the taste and I can drink as much as I want (SERIOUSLY, as much as I want) and nary a hangover have I ever had. When I came back to the states, I was devastated to learn it's nearly impossible to find. Except at BevMo. AND they sell the those cute little baby bottles of it, too! Oh, the tear of joy that clung to the corner of my eye when I found this out! Alright. BevMo does actually have other things going for it: * Purple haze in keg form. AWEsome. *The famous five cent sale. I have walked out of there with six bottles of quality vinos for $40. Shabby? Unfriend You can see from my profile that I almost never post negative reviews. The service has to be just that bad in order to get my goat. Giving a loyal customer the runaround definitely qualifies. Being rude to my wife will earn you 1 star. I guess I shouldn't have high expectations of a liquor store. Looking back on our records for the year, we can see that my wife has spent more than $2,000 on behalf of her employer at this location, and nearly $200 for our own purchases. We'd have spent more, but my wife is pregnant and can't drink. With this in mind, it is curious that this location would not honor one of their own coupons because she was 4 cents short of the total amount of wine required to get the discount. I get it, I get it. Rules are rules. Except, the reason she was four cents short is because they were out of the kind of wine she was trying to buy. So the manager decided to further inconvenience my wife (who was already trying to wrangle one kid while pregnant with the other) by making her go pick out a bottle of wine she doesn't even want in order to get the discount. Also, rules AREN'T rules. It's not like the US government issued the coupon. It was your own marketing department. I'm guessing they'd rather keep the customer. Why one star, you may ask? Because we were loyal customers. And, because it is a liquor store. It doesn't take that much to be a good one. Just sell me some booze at a fair price and don't give me the runaround and you're in the running with 99% of the other liquor stores out there. read more

Ahh Betty Ford's Supermarket! Always a huge collection of liquor and always a bright and clean store.. The prices aren't all that great unless they have the alcoholic special of 5c for the second bottle. I come here when I need a larger vodka selection or something better than the 2 buck chug at Trader Joes. if you spend $250 you get a 5% coupon which never equates to much but helps regardless. I walked in here today looking for a waiter's corkscrew. Naturally, I had already looked on their website before coming into the store to see the different types they carry. There were about six employees congregating at the front and neither one said "hello" when I walked in. Okay... I asked one of them, "where are your wine keys?" He pointed in the direction of various different wine keys. I walked around looking at them and looking back at the employees because I had a question. Nobody came up to me and asked if I needed any help. Wow. I really dislike bad customer service. I still needed to purchase the corkscrew, so I took two different ones to the register and asked the guy who rung me up, "which one is better?". He told me they were both good. BevMo! is to alcoholics, what Home Depot is to contractors. You can drink your way into a coma here. It's the Costco of booze. If you wanted to open the best bar in town, you could just come here and stock up your bar. They have freaking everything. The prices are not much cheaper than elsewhere, but the prices are fair. At least their not super marked up. Ask any sales associate for a certain beer, and they will help you navigate the maze of alcohol. You can even just tell them a certain type of beer, wine or spirit, and they will show you options. read more

DON'T GET DELIVERY. I attempted to purchase $750 worth of bourbon as business gifts and naturally I'd like for it to be delivered seeing as how I can't personally carry much. I placed the order at 9 AM for a 11:30 - 1:30 PM delivery time. Here comes 4 PM and I finally call them direct. First they hung up on me after it rang about 20 times. Then I called back and after being placed on hold 4 separate times over the course of 15 minutes I finally was told that they didn't call the courier and that it would be here within an hour. We'll see about that. Clearly a huge flaw in the system. I've been here many times and have had OK experiences. Not great customer service in person either. These guys have everything. If you call ahead of time then they can reserve for you. This is critical with kegs. They can get most kegs which is always great for GOOD TIMES. I don't drink, but I took a cake decorating course and decided I should buy some liqueurs to put in frosting (BTW Mom, I'm raiding the bar next time I visit), and so BevMo seemed like the place to go. Considering I was using alcohol for frosting, not cocktails, I was looking for cheap stuff, and BevMo had all sorts of alternatives to the well-known (aka good) kinds. I found Potter's liqueurs in a ton of flavors for ~$5 each. What interested me more was the nice selection of old-timey and unconventional sodas for us teetotalers. The place is definitely the biggest liquor store I've been to. They even have an entire section dedicated to cool sodas you might not have seen before. Club Bev!! hooray for that!! This location is nestled in the Target/Best Buy shopping center in West Hollywood, and this HUGE liquor store has every booze you could possibly want. More importantly, they have the most reasonably priced liquor in L.A. Some run a lot cheaper than same liquor at other liquor stores. If you sign up for a free BevMo club card, you earn discounts, and can get discounts emailed to you. Very niceeeeee BevMo! is truly a one stop shop for all your alcoholic needs. From imported vodkas, gins, rums, beer, wine, wine glasses, shot glasses, mini alcohol bottles for on the go, etc.. they have it all. I have not yet failed to locate any kind of rare beers i want. If any gastropubs/ restaurant/ bars have them, bevMo for sure does too! and more. If you love alcohol as much as I do, then you will love this place! Yep. It's a one! I've been coming here for awhile for my soda (ironic for a recovering alcoholic right?) because of prices and convenience. Staff customer service can be up and down- but overall okay. I'm not there to collect ginger brew expertise. But they are a covid fail in terms of not spreading it. Not one covered face, not one pair of gloves from the staff handing things out at the door. Or from what I could see on the three others right inside. From cases to bottles, ungloved hands handing things from person to person, and when you are much closer than six feet for pick up, is happy time for a virus trying to spread. It got better when The person in line ahead was without a mask on his face - a now emphasized practice in LA ( mid Wilshire has some of the higher covid case numbers in the la area) - and was let into the store to pick out soda and chips. So now all the staff is running around after this guy has been in, breathing out his social nondistancing air. Just kind of defeats the purpose of why everyone is stuck in our lockdown to begin with. I have mad respect for these workers here, thicking it out at this time particularly - retail service can suck. But maybe step up and school the employees a little - if one of them is asymptomatic and they pass it on to a mom or a dad with a child in the house with a compromised immune system, the outcome might not be good. The parent has to take precautions right. But so do the employees exposed to so many volumes of people each day. Bev Mo staff are literally lifting sweaty armed boxes into the arms of someone else. It just seems like a no brainer to realize walking around putting orders together for a bunch of booze lovers and soda lovers alike is going to make you sweat more and breathe harder and spread whatever a hell of a lot easier. So wear gloves and stick on a mask then. I've picked up ginger ale at a couple of other bev mos and they do it better. Makes me sad I even have to say anything about this.
