In the past, I have been a Hertz customer via AAA since 1990. However, due to my experience on the mainland with Enterprise (via my dealership service advisor), I decided to break from the usual. New pro tip, rent your car via Costco Travel. You get your pick of companies (Enterprise!) and vast auto selection that were quite reasonable. I nervously booked two weeks prior to leaving for Maui (OGG Kahului). But it turned out to be easy peasy once I landed. 1. Take a few free magazines and maps from the airport kiosks - they're helpful and has discounts too. 2. Take the tram across the street from baggage claim to the centralized rental car hub. 3. Shocked as there was no line as I approached the Enterprise customer service desk! Very personable individual who went through my contract and options. I declined additional insurance coverage, because my policy back home had me covered. I did opt for the prepaid gas (back on 8/26/25 it was $4/gallon). The new compact I had was so economical, I only spent an additional $30 before returning it on 9/2/25 slightly above E. Just make the best decision for your holiday needs. Note: Heed the warnings about driving in appropriate areas while on the island. I did not take my new compact off roading on unpaved, rugged routes! 4. I went to the second floor where I was greeted by another Enterprise person who pointed out the cars I was able to select from. Loaded the luggage into the trunk, took a 360 degree photo of the vehicle & license plate just in case, and familiarized myself with the car features. 5. Drove to the checkout gate where another airport person (who had just returned from my home state visiting family) finished off the car rental process and off on my merry way. 6. Returning to the airport, give yourself ample time to deal with OGG logistics. I followed the signage for car rental return. I drove to the appointed drop off area, got the vehicle checked back in without any issues, rode the tram back to the terminal, cleared the TSA and US agricultural checkpoints, and received my Enterprise receipt by email by the time I was at my departure gate/waiting area. Super customer service across the board from the OGG/Kahului Enterprise staff on 8/26/25 and 9/2/25. Sometimes one has to break from the usual and get pleasantly surprised. We came during Halloween season and saw this cute pumpkin contest they had going on which of course I voted! The staff were super friendly and offer us to get a jeep for a minimum extra charge that we decided to go for it. They said it was a local offer they had for that day since they had plenty of jeeps. We were able to choose which one we wanted to take and had no issues during our whole stay. I had never been on a Jeep and I had so much fun jumping in/out of it read more

Most of the time when we rent a car, we go through Enterprise RAC because they've given us awesome customer service! We haven't traveled for a while so I swear this time picking up and dropping off the car was easy and faster. We first went to the customer service to check in which took less than 10 minutes, got our paperwork, took the escalator down a floor to the parking lot. The attendant looked at our paperwork and said they only have 3 cars to choose from. Guess when you arrive early in the morning, all of their cars haven't been returned yet. We chose the maroon Nissan Altima...easy to spot. When we returned the car, someone guided us where to park and asked us to leave the FOB in the car. She came back with our receipt and we were done...super fast and great customer service! read more

This review is for the extra surcharge for a nearly a gallon of gas that was added to my invoice. I literally just filled up at the gas station near the airport and I added those extra clicks to make sure the tank was filled. I was in Maui for a day to work and I think Enterprise saw it was my company who was paying for the rental and decided to squeeze that extra few dollars. It's a few dollars but it's a matter of principle and ethics. The car I got had a 35 miles to a gallon. I've been using Enterprise for years back home in Oahu. They are actually my preference next to Alamo whenever I needed a rental. But this left a bad taste in my mouth that would make me think twice about using them for my personal rental use. There is a shuttle from the airport over to the rental car facility. Walked in and was greeted by friendly staff, fast and great service. Crowded but they went as fast as they could. The cars are down below in the parking garage which is nice - so they are not outside baking in the heat and humidity. Many choices but some are pretty banged up. Getting out of the garage takes time because there is a lot of checking going on for all the damage. Was able to get a good discounted price as well. Get Rent Maybe the most expeditious and friendliest car rental pickup I've ever experienced. It actually would've been faster if I had some info ready upon arrival, but that's neither here nor there. A couple of tips to make your pickup/drop-off smoother: *Know the address where you'll be staying because, evidently, they want to know it. I've never been asked this question before at a car rental, but whatever. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ *When you book your car, make sure you enter the correct time for pickup and drop-off because you could be charged extra (±$50/hr!) if you're too early or too late. I made a reservation for a minivan nearly 7 months ago to ensure that I would have a minivan for our larger party and to make it easier to access the state parks with a single vehicle, however, a minivan is not what I received. Due to high demand of minivans in the area, I made the reservation wayyyyy in advance for our trip, however, when I got to the check-in, I was told that all their minivans were on "recall." Alternatives were offered with a discount but the fact that I was not informed the day of or even the day before when I called to confirm the reservation is unacceptable. Let us be real here Enterprise, all your minivans did not go on "recall" that morning. To make matters worse, Enterprise did not have other alternatives with the same or similar occupancy so we had to stick with what were offered which was a 5 seater vehicle. Luckily, the other half of our party was able to reserve a car through a different car rental but we now had to travel around with two vehicles plus additional expenses as a result of the extra car. read more

We reserved an economy car ahead of time but needed to upgrade to a larger car after we arrived when we received word that some people decided to join us. The gentleman at the counter didn't bat a lid and didn't give me a hard time about it. Check in and paperwork was fast fast fast. There were 2 people in front of me but it felt like I just walked up the line and they were talking to me already. Enterprise is in the new consolidated car rental facility a mere tram ride away from the arrivals terminal. Puck up was a breeze too. I was told ro go down one level, present the paperwork I was handed to the person at the kiosk and someone will drive the car around to me. And that's exactly what happened. Magic! We rented a Jeep from the airport and they were kind enough to let us pick anyone we wanted they just pointed to the Jeep's and said the key are in them. I was a little bummed that all of them seemed somewhat dirty but when we returned it and they asked if there was anything they could have done to make it better I told them about the condition of the vehicle and I received close to a $100 discount. read more

There's a newer renovated car rental area without a bus ride to an off site location required anymore. Once you leave the airport terminal, hop on the trolley for a short ride to the building where all the big rental companies are now located. There are automated kiosks now, but at least 1 employee was there to help us troubleshoot. We headed downstairs to the garage and were fortunate to obtain/be upgraded to a brand new 2020 Mustang convertible for our week trip. It was pretty much brand new straight from the factory and I always love a new car smell. The process was very fast and efficient, just the way I wanted it to be. Wow, after a long day in the Airport from 9AM to 11:00PM, flying to OGG from HNL to find out we needed a Negative COVID Test to enter Maui, flying back to HNL to take the test, and then fly back to Maui. Did I mention we flew with two crying kids? We just made it before closing which workers normally want to rush you out, so they can close and go home. Not Shawn and Kahara, they made our day better by rolling out the red carpet, providing excellent customer service and pleasant experience. The car rental was originally only planned for one day. Spectacular service from Nate and his team! We came on a business trip and mind you I haven't been to Maui in 2 years. Almost everything changed in regards to the car rental area. First you take the tram, a 3 minute ride that looks like a mixture of the Dole Plantation train and Hogwarts Express to the Enterprise station. Or you can walk, up to you. We were immediately greeted, quickly checked in and then shown where to pick up our car rental. Jafar did a speedy job and even brought the van to us. Then we were in our way. The parking structure was easy to navigate in and out of. Reminds me the parking structures in Vegas and Disneyland. Upon returning our car rental, Kimo had a positive attitude and helped expedite our check out process so we could make our flight. Overall, I highly recommend Enterprise. I love love love the new rental car center at OGG (Maui Airport)!! It's super clean brand spanking new organized has all the typical vendors. Very similar to the rental car places like San Diego Airport or Las Vegas Airport!! One stop shop which I love!! The tram is big AC lots of space and takes you from the airport to the rental car area, it's super quick too!! Couple minutes then boom you are there!! Enterprise when you walk off the tram is to the far right hand side you check in w a rep then they instruct you to head downstairs to pick up your car literally the fastest rental car transaction ever we frequent LAX location and it typically takes half hour to an hour to get out w our car and everything so this was amazing makes me wanna come back again!! Service was world class We were helped w Kalei she got our car drove it to us and her service was amazing!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Here's the story. We were informed that our flight was delayed 12 hours. 12 HOURS. I called Enterprise to double check if this would affect our pick up. Not at all they said. In fact, they already knew our flight was delayed! (Enterprise also had tons of information online, but I wanted to call just to double check). We ended up arriving at OGG at 12AM, 1 hour after Enterprise's listed closing time. Joseph at the counter greeted us with a wide smile and positive energy. It was a flawless pick up. The rest of the team helped us navigate to our car, all the while giving smiles and positive vibes. In fact, we had tons of choices, and were even offered a free upgrade for a bigger SUV. All the cars were in pristine condition, and the car we ended up getting was clean and reliable. It was tough starting our trip with a 12 hour delay, but I felt that we were back on track to having a good time after my interaction with the Enterprise team. And the drop off was SUPER easy. The vehicle was a newer vehicle that had a large screen and a back up camera. Service is fast. A shuttle will also drop you back off to the airport. The hours are great! Garbage service. As I return the vehicle I made an error and left my glasses on the roof of the vehicle. Noticed once I turned paperwork in and hopped on the tram. Called the front desk requesting them to send someone to the vehicle downstairs to grab the glasses as I'm on my way back to the desk in less than 5 minutes. Rep told me to not waste my time as the car probably already in processes and to file a lost and found claim. I expressed that I am literally in my way back and that I can run down if she can just walk-in talkie or call someone down at the car loading area. She refused and said no they can't . I attempted to follow the lost and found claim hoping it would be a quick easy turn around as this woman is aware of my entry number and my lost item. It's been two weeks and they keep updating the claim stating not recovered. Guaranteed the intake crew stole the glasses and never reported them as they are very nice polarized Oakleys in a hard case. If you use enterprise quadruple check you don't ever leave something or they WILL steal it and not return it to the lost and found. read more
