Honest Review!!!!!! Anna and her team at Beyond Alteration did a phenomenal job on my bridesmaids dress alteration. They took something I thought would be impossible to do (because it was 2 sizes too big in every way) and made the dress fit like a glove. It's as if I purchased the dress from the website with my exact measurements. The turn around time was super fast - within 1.5 weeks. Upon picking up the dress, the corset part was a smidge on the tighter side. She offered to loosen it a bit for me - so I left the dress there allowing her to do so. Came back for the dress a few days later and it fit more comfortably. I did notice a little defect on the back of the dress (from where she had to loosen it) that wasn't there the first time. I brought it up to her and she offered to fix it but I declined. All in all the experience here was great. I would definitely recommend and I will be coming back for future alterations here! read more

When you love a piece in your closet and it can't be replaced it's time to find someone who can make custom which is very hard to find these days. They charged me $63 to hem six pairs of pants. The stitching is coming undone already after my first time wearing them. My supervisor said the same thing happened to him. The hem eventually came out of 4 out of the 6 pairs. I contact them on Facebook and they fixed them free of charge. read more

I've never had anything altered before but after years of being frustrated by not ever being able to find jeans that perfectly fit my dumpy, f***ing, pear-shaped frame, I decided to make a change. Beyond Alteration is a tiny, little shop inside a row of tiny, little shops. They have a virtually nonexistent waiting area with only two chairs to choose from (technically one, as both times I went (dropping off and picking up) one of the chairs was taken up by either stacks of clothes or a friend/family member of the girl working the counter), and one small changing room for changing into and out of the clothes you are having altered. The girl working the counter was nice and pinned my jeans to the desired hem lengths then took my name down and took them in the back. I was quoted $20 (which seemed a little steep as most people I spoke to said hemming would be maybe $10 tops) and was told to return four days later to pick them up (which seemed a little too long of a wait, if you ask me, but maybe I'm just impatient (I'm DEFINITELY impatient)). Fast forward four days later and here I am with my newly hemmed jeans that fit perfectly and are of the perfect length. While I am still a little "eh" about the price and turnaround time (the reason for 4/5 star rating), the hem looks great and I feel great finally having jeans that fit exactly as they should. While I initially may have look down on having one's clothes altered, it would appear that MY opinion has been altered! read more

I have had several issues within the last few months here. I used to go before the new owner bought the place and it was better. Has gone downhill. Took my daughter and a pair of pants to hem shortly before a trip . Had to argue with the owner (repeatedly) who does the hemming (but not much of the alterations) because she insisted on making them too long. She finally agreed to pin them up higher, but when we picked them up they were too long - just like I had told her we did NOT want them. Seemed like she ignored what I was saying. We were leaving on a trip so she had to wear them too long on the trip and I took them back for a re-do after the trip! They fixed them but she kept insisting she had done it the way we agreed when it was 100% obvious they didn't because they were dragging on the floor. Gave them a second chance with a formal dress and had the exact same thing happen again. So I had to take it back because the dress was dragging in the back and she again argued that she had done it how we agreed. But we had been clear that the dress would not touch the floor in the back and over one inch was actually dragging on the floor when I picked it up. So we took it back again and now they made it completely uneven on one half of the dress and almost too short on the other half. SO frustrating. And they charged me over $90 because there were 2 layers of the dress and a thin rhinestone belt to sew on. Seemed very pricey and yet still done wrong TWICE. So now we are going to take it to a different place and spend more money with less than one week to go before the party and spend more money to correct the mistakes they made. I left my wedding dress with them to have appliques sewn on the back....I called them back to fidn out when I could pick up the dress and they told me I needed to come in for a fitting for the bustle....ummmm, WHAT BUSTLE?!?!?!?! I never asked for a bustle, my paperwork doesn't say bustle... so I proceed to ask them why they put a bustle in without my permission and the lady's answer is that she wanted me to see how it would look on my dress. So let me get this right... you literally put a needle and thread through my wedding dress without my permission to SEE if I would like it?!?!?! Are you freaking insane??? Psycho much????? I told her I would be in to pick up my dress THAT DAY and she told me I couldn't. I demanded that they remove the bustle and she still said I couldn't pick up my dress. I am currently fighting them to get my dress back, 5 weeks before my wedding, and I will NEVER go to them again. Every person I know will hear this story and they will lose our business FOREVER. Beyond Alterations is amazing! I took my wedding dress there 4 days before my wedding to have emergency alterations done and they did them as requested and to perfection! I had a fitted A-line dress that I wanted made into a mermaid. I also need to have the back panel by my corset adjusted because there was a space still showing skin when I tied up the corset. My mother was suppose to do these changes the weekend before my wedding, but realized her sewing machine wasn't working. The next day (4 days before wedding day) I took my dress to Beyond Alterations and they quickly got me into my dress, pinned where needed charged me only $60 for all the alterations!!! I am a Personal Shopper and have been looking for a location that can handle alterations for a very demanding set of customers. For a long time I took clothing to various places and in most instances I had to take them back to be corrected or the alterations were so bad that I had to go to a different location and ended up paying twice to finally have an item altered satisfactorily. They did a great job on my daughters wedding dress which needed some mending. Tt was a lil expensive but worth it.

I went here about a month ago to get dress pants hemmed for the next evening. They said they could it would be $10. I guess you get what you pay for cause first upon pick up I noticed my button was missing that was firmly in place before. They acted like they never heard the word "button." They offered to sew one on, and I said "yes I would like my black button back on my pants." I also noticed a little fraying they said they fixed it with the button. Now my right pant leg hem fell out and now I have one pant leg that's long that I trip over and is fraying on the bottom. I'm really disappointed and I feel cheated out of my money. I bought an expensive leather jacket online and when it arrived it was just a little different in its design than I could see from the photos on website where I purchased it. This jacket was 90% great but 10% lousy. I didn't want to return it but didn't wear it because of the weirdness with the collar. I decided to take a chance with Beyond Alteration and am very pleased with the results. The service and workmanship were both great and the price was very fair.
