I am sharing my personal experience at Beyond Beauty Plastic Surgery in Miami regarding my surgery with Dr. Thomas Shannon. I originally booked a brachioplasty with Lipo 360 under a different surgeon who was no longer with the facility prior to my procedure. I was reassigned to Dr. Shannon shortly before surgery. During my pre-operative consultation, I was informed that the surgical plan would need to change. I was told that the brachioplasty could not be performed as initially discussed and that arm liposuction would need to be done first. During a follow-up video call, I was informed that if procedures were not completed during the original anesthesia time, there would not be an automatic refund. After continued communication with the office, I was able to receive a partial refund with the assistance of the office staff and manager, who were professional and helpful throughout the process. However, I remain disappointed that the full amount for the unperformed procedures was not returned. Had lipo 360 in 2021 by Dr. Stefan..... while i thought the procedure looked decent, days later i developed a very hard lump that only got bigger and bigger each day. (Turned out to be a hernia) that he caused. I dont know what he did but im assuming he poked me up a bit too much with the lipo stick. After the surgery when i had questions about the drain because it was stuck he disregarded me and said he doesn't know what to tell me and to see my primary care doctor. I would give five stars if everyone spoke English. I traveled to Miami from Ohio for an an extended Tummy Tuck with Dr. Gary Vela in April of 2023. The office procedures are wasteful of everyone's time and I sat there ALL day for five minutes with someone about billing and buying scar scream. Really, an utter and complete waste of my time. The office is also difficult to reach and struggled with reading my lab results, but I persevered, as I wanted to save $20k by going there. Be prepared to be proactive and call them A LOT before you get the answers you need. The office manager could streamline this process with minimal issues and for heaven's sake, get more chairs in there. Also, I think it's vital to have someone who speaks English for postop appointments. My son is an STNA and he went with me- do NOT travel alone! You will need lots of help and care after the procedure, most definitely. I also recommend the massages, whenever you feel comfortable being touched. For me, it was local and two-months post op. That said, I wished I had some lymphatic massages sooner. I brought a walker with a seat and there is no way I could have flown home without it. Dr. Vela is absolutely the most amazing surgeon. He is pleasant, confident, and his bedside manner is enthralling. I immediately felt at ease with him and I knew he was good as I had done my research, but WOW. I'm now five months post op, and had the procedure after first losing 70 pounds. I went from a 20 to a 16 with weight loss, but I has so much skin. I'm now a loose 12 and I look spectacular. My husband looks at me in a way I hadn't seen in years and he takes my picture all the time- he even watches me try on clothes. I went to a cookout/pool party and wore a 2-piece suit. I'm 49!! I cannot recommend Dr. Gary Vela highly enough. My incision looks amazing. My recovery was rough, I had a massive procedure and my incision goes almost all the way around, but it was worth it and I'd do it again in a heartbeat. Hello Yelp community... where do I begin... do not trust Beyond Beauty, Dr. Stefan, Lesly or anyone at this office! The patients are treated in conveyor belt-like manner. When I started looking into getting breast augmentation surgery, I found Beyond Beauty on Instagram early this year. Then I checked out the website and so far, everything looked good. Checked out Dr. Stefan and his credentials checked out... no patient complaints. So I contacted them for a consultation and spoke to Ana. She sent me photos, super responsive, etc. I decided to secure my surgery date in mid April with a $$ deposit. After that I was never able to get a hold of Ana or anyone else who would respond to my calls or texts. The week before my surgery, I started to get very concerned. No calls from Beyond Beauty confirming that my lab results were received. I called several times and the phone would just ring but no one answered. Finally three days before surgery, a receptionist answered the phone. I asked to speak to my patient coordinator but was told she was too busy to verify receipt of my lab results. I called again the next day, Tuesday and same bs. This was actually the day I traveled to Florida from the Northeast for my surgery. I prayed that I was making the right decision since I had already spent over $1500 between airfare and hotel accommodations. I arrived in Florida and called Beyond Beauty again... no answer. I called the next day, Wednesday (the day before my surgery). I finally got someone who answered the phone and was told I would receive a call later on that day with my surgery time. No pre-op visit?? How strange... So many red flags so far. I waited and waited and no call with my surgery time. DAY OF SURGERY-I called the office several times starting at 9:00 and wasn't able to get a hold of anyone until nearly 10:00 and after using my husband's phone instead of mine because they obviously screen calls. Let me start by saying the incompetent receptionist who answered the phone didn't even know Lesly's (patient coordinator) last name lol! I explained that Thursday April 15th was my surgery date and I never received any call the day prior to surgery with surgery time or any instructions whatsoever. I was on hold for about 3 mins before the receptionist came back on the line to tell me to go in for a pre-op visit and my surgery would be scheduled for the next day (what??!!). My husband was against going to Beyond Beauty in person, but I was determined to see this place with my own eyes. WHEN I ARRIVED AT BEYOND BEAUTY OMGGGG!!!! this is what I saw: - Unsafe conditions for patients - Overcrowded waiting room - No social distancing - Staff and patients not wearing masks - Multiple patients with exposed surgical drains filled with blood which created an unsanitary environment - Obvious health and safety violations - Elective cosmetic surgery office working in excess of patient limitations - Dr. Stefan only agreed to meet with me because I demanded my deposit back - Surgeon Dr. Stefan met me wearing surgical gown covered in blood - Appalling conditions in surgical office - BE AFRAID FOR YOUR LIFE! Worst and most stressful experience ever. I got a BBL with another center in West palm so I know how this goes. I got a breast Augmentation here with Dr. Stefan and it was very stressful. The first consultation was horrendous. There were 40 women waiting inside and outside of the center police had to come. The first day for my lab work I waited 1 hour to be seen. I was then bruised on my arm for a week after they took my blood. Then for my pre-Op I waited 4 HOURS to be seen. I asked to get my prescription so I could have it ready for after surgery. A lady told me they'd give my driver the prescription so she could get it while I'm in surgery. THIS WAS FALSE. For surgery- I waited 2 hours. Surgery went well but when I woke up usually they give you more pain medication but I didn't get any. They gave me the prescriptions after surgery. So I had to go right after surgery to hunt down medication. No one had pain meds. So stressful. Now the pharmacy called and said the nurse forgot to put information on the prescription so I'd have to come back to have it filled and then back to CVS to redo it. HORRIBLE. No one ever answer the phone after you put the deposit in. Please go elsewhere. I feel bad for dr Stefan- he's a good surgeon but needs to clean out the staff and have an actual professional scheduling system and team in place ASAP. read more

Prior to surgery the coordinator lost the lab test paperwork and blamed my PCP for not sending it. I told her I was there with my PCP when he faxed everything. Later to find out she found it in a stack of unchecked paperwork. Extremely unorganized chaos. Scheduled for surgery at 5am, didn't get operated on until almost 12 noon, due to the fact they did not have the equipment shipped on time (implants). Why didn't you reschedule me for another time instead of wasting my time?! Fast forward 2 weeks post-op, I'm trying to get into contact with my surgeon: Dr. Michael, very unprofessional yelling at your post-op patient when finally getting into contact. He yells at the at the nurse in the background and says "didn't you send her care instructions?!" The care instructions were literally 7 bullet points not too detailed on anything. I had to call this place 6X before finally reaching the doctor he does not pick up his direct cell for post-op patients. Breast implants are not too great, I wouldn't be surprised if he put the wrong implant size that I requested for 650cc HP and they look like small jalapeño poppers. I requested to see the implant size and he said no. Also had J-Plasma done and it looks uneven on the stomach & a botched 360 Lipo. Highly advise you don't get your lymphatic drainage massage with his practice! The massage is not suppose have you crying in pain. I was clenching on to the massage bench sweating and almost passed out while this so called massage therapist said don't worry it's suppose to be painful. I don't think pressing on the places I removed fat in a rough way would be good; hence the lumpy, uneven scar tissues that I now have. I know this only because I had lymphatic massages done in Boston and they're relaxing, help with swelling and you're not crying in pain. FYI, his medical staff barely speaks English. Surgery in Miami is cheap for a reason. You get what you pay for. Extremely dissatisfied. I can't express how sad I am with my results. Me realize mis exámenes medicos y todo listo para mi cirugía con el Doctor Michel Stephan. Lo primero es que aunque envíe mis exámenes por anticipado el doctor ni siquiera había visto mis resultados medicos. Yo viaje desde Los Ángeles California. Un día antes apenas en frente de mi fue cuando el doctor vio por primera vez mi expediente medico. Claro después de estar desde las 9 de la mañana esperando ver por primera vez al doctor y me vino a ver hasta las 3 de la tarde. La sala de esperas estaba llena. Pero yo pensaba que todas iban a cirugía otro día no el mismo día que yo y que quizás eran diferentes doctores los que operaban. Al siguiente día eran como 5 mujeres para cirugía a la misma hora o con media hora de diferencia. Yo hasta días después me entere porque uno se las encuentra en las citas para los masajes post operatorios y ahi les pregunte quien las había operado y a que horas y fecha y pues resulta que era el mismo día casi con 20 a 30 minutos de diferencia con el mismo Doctor. Ahora entendí porque casi muero. Tengo 5 meses en cama. Mi cirugía aparte de mal hecha se ve horrible. Los lados están espantosos. Los cortes parecen que los hiso un niño de kinder. Agarre infección y me llego a mi sangre, riñones eh hígado. Lo peor que como estaba vendada no supe que tenia toda mi piel muerta eh infectada hasta que llegue a Los Ángeles después de haber estado así por 9 días en Miami. La piel no se me murió en 5 horas de vuelo eso paso estando en Miami. Lo supe hasta que mi mamá me quito las faja y lo que me cubría la herida. Aquí ningún doctor se quería hacer cargo de mi caso por no tener un seguro medico pues un Medical oh Medicaid de el gobierno no te cubre un daño asi. Nadie quiere arreglar lo que otro arruino. ***please note that the 3 stars is based on the STAFF, the DOCTOR is AMAZING, the staff is a nightmare (except for the 2 front desk girls)*** My experience pre op here was terrible, there was little to no communication, they lost my test results and ultrasound, I couldn't get in contact with them to pay, they gave me absolutely no instructions as to what I should be doing or how I should be doing anything. They told me I could do all of my pre op stuff there the day before, knowing that I came in from New York, and then found out that was not the case Bc they send out the ultrasound. The day before surgery I walked in for my pre op at noon and didn't leave until 430, I had to give MORE blood on an empty stomach (thank you missing test results) and we were forgotten about in a room for 45 minutes. The day of surgery, my surgery was scheduled for 6AM, we showed up 20 minutes prior and the entire staff didn't show up until after 615 (we were waiting outside with other people). My surgery didn't happen until 11 because (this was not their fault) one of the implants was wrong, and I sat unattended with an empty saline bag unable to get it filled for probably 15 minutes before getting another one and then had to have air taken out of my line. The anesthesiologist was amazing and super gentle with the IV as well as pleasant to be around. Dr. Stefan is an incredibly knowledgeable and talented doctor. My little sister got her boobs done here and that's why I was able to sift through all of the chaos thanks to her. If you go here, make sure you know what you're doing. ***What I can say in full confidence is, Dr. Stefan is worth every bit of the hassle, all that being said, should I choose to have anything else done, even with the less than mediocre staff, Dr Stefan will 100% be my first choice. read more

Where do I begin.... Back in September this establishment was named "Curvy Dolls" I met with my coordinator named "Genovive". I was referred to this establishment and coordinator by someone who at the time did business with them and spoke highly of them. Dr.Kreegel was assigned to do my surgery I put 500 down for my deposit and had a date set. I notice that the establishment " Curvy Dolls" was changed to " Miobella Surgery". I called and was told they moved to a different location and was now called " Beyond Beauty" not once was I notified about the change of location and establishment. 2 months before my surgery I called to speak to my coordinator "Genovive" she wasn't available they took down my informant for her to call me back. I was calling for over a week in regards to my contract and it was the same run around. I finally spoke to a women named " Mary" who literally sent it to me in less than 10 mins. About 3 weeks before my surgery I noticed they were no longer promoting Dr.Kreegel and saw they were promoting a new surgeon named "Dr. Results". I called in regards to that and I was told he is no longer working for them. So I said so is this new surgeon "Dr.Results" going to perform my surgery because that's all I see on there instagram page. I was told no "Dr. Stephans" was going to do it and that if I wanted "Dr.Results I needed to pay 1,500 more. I stated to Genovive when was I going to be notified about this change and how was I going to be put with a surgeon that I've never met nor seen his work. She sent me 2 pictures of his tummy tucks and they are HORRIBLE!!!!! She then stated that " Dr.Results" only does tummy tucks on "Skinny Bitches and that he picks his patients and that he is picky as fuck ! At this point I'm livid and disgusted !!! How ghetto ! I argued that they were in breach of their contract and breaking their contract !!! The next day she calls me back I'm thinking it's for a time to meet the surgeon, nope calls me to say the same thing he is going to honor the price. I told her I want to meet him she said she will let me know the next day what time to come in that following Monday. Sure enough never called me to tell me what time to come in to meet the surgeon. Mind you my surgery is scheduled for that following Week of February 20. At this point I'm completely turned off and in shock of the level of disrespect. I get text today asking what time am I coming in for my pre opp visit. This is the most pathetic place of business I have ever encountered in my life !!!!! Stay away from this place !! This place is complete trash!!! I had surgery with Dr. Stefan and am not happy with my results. I told him before surgery I was ok with getting a back lift, but he said 360 lipo would be fine. SINCE surgery, the coordinator is saying the doctor suggests I get a back lift I also still have numbness in my stomach down to my rt hip and upper thigh since the procedure. They admitted fault and offered a revision immediately after seeing my before and after "results"! I declined a revision because I don't trust going back to this unprofessional clinic, and waking up alive and well!! I've been seeing a lot of complaints about this doctor, and it seems he needs to be forced into retirement. I won't trust my life of body with him again. They sent me a DocuSign to authorize a refund, and to request my medical records. I have not heard from this office since I signed those documents. No voicemails, no emails, nothing! And believe me, I've been calling and emailing them plenty! So I recently filed a complaint against them on the BBB, and here they come. (MIND YOU, I'm still waiting heard back from them).. saying that they "have never denied service for me, and I can contact them anytime about my revision... but they don't offer refunds." Why would I get revision lipo if the Doctor "actually" had said I needed a back lift? And why say refunds aren't offered weeks after sending my refund authorization on DocuSign,?! I paid over $5k to this clinic, and another $3500+ in post-op recovery and travel....for them to say "Oops, but oh well" after not doing a damn thing that I paid for. I would NOT recommend this place. They advertise that Michael Stefan tis the surgeon but there's no way it's just him working on everyone. There were 10 other girls there for surgery the same day. I asked, and they were 4 of us there for mommy makeovers. They take 4-6 hours per person for a Mommy Makeover. That's a lot for one surgeon. I asked multiple times what other surgeons were there to work on us and they just said dr Stefan. That's BS. Also this form, I have attached it to this review, they have you sign the day before your surgery. It's worrisome. If he is a good doctor and does good work, why not purchase the necessary insurance? Also, the consultant I spoke with months before my surgery said I would be able to get my mommy makeover 5 months postpartum. After spending a lot of money on airfare and putting deposits on a recovery home, I get there ans they denied me to get surgery because I wasn't 6 months postpartum. This place is a circus. Do Not give this place any business. 1 Dr does up to 10 surgeries a day. They are very unorganized, unprofessional, and do not honor what they tell you. I had a tummy tuck here on june 14 2021. Customer service was awful. Hard to reach anyone after surgery. But they are quick to take your money. I have been back to the Clinic multiple times for dog ears and a heaviness in my stomach. Told every time I went that everything is fine you have to give it more time and. Every six months I flew from Louisiana ti Miami. A lot of waisted money. The dr Michael Stefan is horrible after surgery he gives you a number to contact him but only responded to my message once and that was two weeks after. Then no response after that so I flew back because I was worried that something was wrong. Here it is 2 years now still having swelling and heaviness in my abdomen. The surgeon was very professional but some of the staff's behavior is questionable. To start the process the sales person calls you so many times and very persistent on booking the appointment with the down payment. Once you do, you never hear from them again. If you call to ask something they are never available. The scheduler never returns calls and the day of your appointment can be changed from on day to another, so leave with a few extra days if you are traveling from another state. Ask all the questions you have prior to the surgery because because Once you have the surgery it is hard to get questions answered. Try and take someone with you to take care of you or pick u ip after surgery and avoid at all costs the recovery houses (casas de reposo) unqualified staff and money hungry owners do not make a good combination. I will start by saying beyond beauty is the best place to go to for your procedures. My husband and I went there and we had a such an amazing experience. My husband got a 360 Lipo with etching and I got 360 Lipo, chin Lipo, and a bbl and guys let me tell you we both look amazing and we are more then pleased with our results so far. It's only been 5 days since our surgery and we are happy already can t wait to see the final results. Our surgeon was was Dr. Stefan and guys I will say he is an amazing doctor. If it was possible to give no stars I would! I originally went to them because at the time they were supposed to do bills with a bmI of 37. Get all they way down to Miami and was told something different. Then they tried to steer me away from a bbl saying my bmi was too high. Then they tried to convince me a tummy ruck would be a better option. I conceded and agreed because I was already down there! (I only wanted to change the shape of my butt)! Check in for surgery the next day, sit for three hours, get to the back, meet with anesthesiologist and he ask if I have any concerns. I told him I had a loose baby tooth, so to be careful with pulling out any tunes if they intabate. He tells me that was going to be a big problem. He continued to examine me, sets me up with an IV and leaves and says he will see me in the surgery. I set there waiting, Dr Stephan comes in and marks me up. Im waiting thinking I'm going back, then the surgical nurse comes in and ask when was the last time I took prednisone. Im like a month ago. Why? She then tells me that the anesthesiologist doesn't want to do the surgery that day, and wants to do it in the hospital. However, that was going to cost me $4k more, and there weren't any dates available until the next month! I wasted over $2,300 coming to Miami! Then they had the absolute nerve to not want to give me my $500 deposit back telling my bank I had up until a year to use it! Who in there right mind would go back to a place like that! Where do I begin??? Oh yeah DONT GO HERE!!!! My friend came here to get a breast lift and implants. And ladies save your money and invest in a top notch place. This place is 1. Unprofessional. It seems very cool and professional at first. They even try to "relate" to you. Which turns into that uncomfortable over stepping boundaries conversations. 2. YOU WILL WAIT FOREVER!!! They schedule 10-15 surgeries in a day. I was told they do this in case there is a cancellation they don't lose any money. But if there isn't any cancellations then be prepared to wait. Oh and you wait in a gown in a cold office. DRESS WARM!!!! Now when my friend arrived all seemed well. They tell you do not eat past midnight but will have you sitting for over 12 hours for surgery and they don't allow you to have so much as water in your stomach. Which is understandable however the wait time is ridiculous. My friend did not enter her surgery until 10 o'clock at night!!! She did not get out until 1:30 in the morning, and we had been there since 9 o'clock in the morning!! And she was in very visible pain. When she was getting her procedure done I managed to talk to a couple that was there for breast implants. The husband had told me that they had been there two days extra because the facility kept pushing their time back. If you look back in March they left a review as well. However if you were to reschedule they keep a good chunk of your money!When I spoke to one of the receptionist about the few things that were bothering myself and my friend I was met with a ton of backlash. It is in a company's best interest to want to make the customer happy. But because my friend was getting her procedure done there and she still had to go back for her postop check up she did not want to say much to get them upset. So I spoke on her behalf. But I was told because I was not a patient my opinion didn't matter nor did my complaints matter. Which they tell you to bring a person that can drive you back to your hotel or to your home I was my friends person. So how responsible was it of the facility to have me driving at 2 o'clock in the morning with someone in screaming pain??? Not to mention I was up the same amount of time that she was nor could I have left and went back to my hotel because we stayed quite a distance away from the facility so I was basically on call to come get her not knowing exactly when. They heard you in like cattle. And the whole facility had an attitude with me the next morning saying I was talking trash about them. But what they need to keep in mind is Everyone is a potential customer. I myself need work done as well as two other people I know and we were looking for a facility to go to in beyond beauty was one of the places we were thinking and considering going to based on how my friends procedure went. Needless to say we will not be going to this facility or recommending them if anything I would want people to stay far away from them I know nail salons that treat you better. I have also heard stories of them stalking women on social media pages and threatening them If they left a bad review.I do want to say this I am not the person you want to do that to! It's refreshing to see other people had pleasant experiences however to take someone's money and have such a horrible experience and not offer any type of customer service to them is fraud. Now here we are in August and my friend has to have her whole procedure reversed because she got an infection in one of her implants ruptured. Her nipples weren't Asymmetrical and that was visible immediately after surgery.It is no secret that a lot of these facilities get sued and they change names and they move locations. But at what point do they change there Attitudes and procedures? I bet the next facility that opens up will be them under a different name. I was quoted a price that was changed. Never was told about the finance charge, and the DR I specifically asked for was changed on my paper work after I was called and RUSHED to sign. I was set to have surgery 3/25/2020. In February 2020 A $500 deposit was initially and originally paid to hold my date/doctor. 3/3/2020 someone from your office called me and was unaware of my surgery date, and what I wanted to have done. VERY FRUSTRATING. After going over everything with her AGAIN she requoted me and told me I now owed 1000k more because the cost went up, and it would go towards my balance. I told her that was fine but she had to use my social to pull up my care credit and pull from there. Im in the process of buying a house and can not have big purchases at the moment.... I TOLD HER THIS. After she processed it she then told me if I used care credit for my remaining balance yall charge a $900 finance fee???????? Fast forward to the next day 3/4/2020 I realized yall pulled 1000k from my person debt it card, which I told her not to do.... also turns out she tired ( and maybe by accident) to pull another 1000k...which then froze my bank account and card.
