DO NOT see this person if you need medical care. Dr Irene Wu was very abrasive, hostile and…read moredismissive. I have resurrected this old Yelp account because as a stroke survivor who is living with chronic pain and cannot enjoy the things in live I used to, I have learned to be my own advocate and help others when I can. I have been a patient of this clinic for four years, and I want to start by saying that Dr. Hsu, Albert, Valencia, and many members of the staff have provided 10/10 outstanding care during some of the most difficult periods of my life following my stroke, seizures, and chronic pain. I'm happy to have them as part of my care team. Unfortunately, my recent experience while trying to obtain time-sensitive travel documentation was completely different. With Dr. Hsu out of the office, I sought assistance regarding paperwork required for international travel with my prescribed medication. Instead of guidance, I left the interaction feeling dismissed and spoken to without empathy. When I explained that delays could affect my travel and medical care, I felt my concerns were minimized rather than addressed. This experience was so out of character with the care I have otherwise received at UCLA that I felt it was important to share. I left feeling unheard, scolded rather than helped, and honestly a little numb. The closest comparison I can make is that I felt like the gum stuck to someone's shoe. Something to scrape off and move past as quickly as possible. I have not felt this attacked since my last seizure. It truly felt like a verbal assault on me personally, not a compassionate or caring healthcare worker. I sincerely hope no other patient facing a complicated medical situation walks away feeling the way I did. Excellent medical care requires more than knowledge and credentials. It requires remembering that the person on the other side of the conversation is scared, vulnerable, and asking for help.

My experience with Doctor Wu has been incredibly disappointing and frustrating, making her one of…read morethe least competent medical professionals I have encountered in my life. Her dismissive attitude and lack of empathy indicate a troubling absence of bedside manner, which is critical in the healthcare field. It seemed as though she had little to no genuine interest in her patients or their well-being, which is not only unprofessional but also quite concerning for someone in her position. On the other hand, I must acknowledge the exceptional quality of care provided by her assistant, who stood out remarkably amidst the otherwise disheartening situation. The assistant was not only warm and approachable but also displayed a high level of intelligence and professionalism, which created a stark contrast to the experience I had with Doctor Wu. Additionally, I was shocked to discover that this UCLA location imposed a surprise fee of $300 without providing any prior notification or explanation. Such practices are not only unethical but also feel like outright fraud, leaving patients feeling cheated and frustrated. I am left deeply disappointed and disheartened by this entire experience, as it raises serious questions about the integrity of the billing practices at this facility.

Dr. Prager is a doctor who does it because he loves it and wants to help people. Erica the nurse practitioner is the best I have ever dealt with. I have Ankylosing Spondylitis which is a very difficult disease to deal with along with all the pain that comes with it and Dr. Prager and Erica keep me functional and working. When I have had problems, they are always there to help no matter how long it takes. I cannot express how appreciative I am of how much they help me. You are not going to find a better doctor or nurse practitioner anywhere. I have been dealing with doctors all my life given my chronic disease and I am so thankful I am a patient there. It is so hard to find a doctor or nurse practitioner who went into medicine to truly help people and is not simply rushing you out of the office in 10 minutes because they are trying to move tons of patients through every day. I have never felt rushed and they truly care about how I am doing and try everything possible to help me. I don't have a single complaint about them at all. The staff is also extremely helpful, friendly and completely competent. If you suffer from a difficult condition or need a real doctor, this is the place to go. I am able to work and function because of their help. Without it, I would be disabled and unable to fully function. Scott

Dr. Jenn takes time to get to know each patient and approaches treatment as something individualized rather than one-size-fits-all. She spends time talking with patients before and after sessions and seems genuinely invested in helping people integrate the experience beyond the appointment itself. The environment also deserves mention. The space feels thoughtfully designed -- comfortable, calm, and welcoming -- and I think that set and setting make a meaningful difference in the overall experience. It doesn't feel like a typical medical clinic; it feels more personal and supportive. The staff has consistently been kind, professional, and attentive, which contributes to feeling at ease throughout the process. For anyone who feels like they've tried a lot of different approaches already, this may be worth exploring. My experience was that the combination of individualized care, environment, and support made all the difference.
