i've been going here forever and it hasn't been this bad. i went in with grown out nails and she ripped them off to the point where i was bleeding. she told me it's because i waited too long to get them done again and that i should come back in two weeks. i've been getting my nails done for 6 years and never had an issue like this. i was in so much pain throughout the entire process. we made appointments for 1:00 and ended up being stuck there for close to four hours. unacceptable for a quick fill with NO design. she charged me for a full set when i went in with acrylic nails ALREADY ON. their prices have went through the roof and i've been trying to be understanding of that, but the service and the pain i endured today i just can't fathom. she also kept using the tools she used with my bleeding nails and put them back in her drawer to further use, which lead to infection, blood borne illnesses, diseases, etc. if you look closely at the picture, you can see blood bubbling out of the MIDDLE OF MY NAIL!! she just put some weird blue liquid on my bloody nails and kept working. she ripped all of them off and kept poking me underneath my nails with the tool as a result of her missing the acrylic. i'm in pain writing this review. i'll also note that she put a tip on the bloody nail and it's shorter than the rest. the shape is not a square. it's uneven and bumpy. i'm so disappointed. this was my last visit read more

Seemed really busy today, even for a fill. When I said to Ginger I wanted my nails shorter I didn't think the automatic thought of "shorter" was to cut all the way to my actual nail length. I wish I had looked at Yelp prior to entering this nail salon. Was treated horribly by a very rude mail tech, supposedly named "Lisa". Mind you, I asked her name when leaving. She never asked my name or introduced herself. She also never asked what shape nail I prefer or length. She let the polish pour over her own fingers onto mine....very sloppy. One of her other nail tech co-workers was laughing at her and they both had a giggle together over this. I have been a walk in here more than once and always get a different gal and that is okay and the price was reasonable. Most of the time I get a pedicure and I will have some kind of a sugar scrub or a paraffin treatment or a different type of soak... It's always fun, and the girls are always nice. It is not fancy, but it's very convenient to not have to have an appointment. This time I went in for a manicure. Just a straight up every day plain old manicure nothing fancy just trim the nails and cuticles and a coat of regular paint. The service was terrible , I went last week to get my sister , mom and myself a spa day and we were rushed out. I don't like my nails not what I asked for and the service was poorly done for my mom. While I was getting my nails done the manager I assume kept telling me how the girls wanted to go home and that I came so late. Basically telling me without telling me not to come late anymore because they don't want to stay that late. Today I went to get the pedicure I couldn't get last time and the manager was very rude and said inappropriate things to me. I came in and when I gave the tip she made a joke about it to her co workers as if my tip was cheap. After paying their upped prices for a basic pedicure I expected at least decent quality nails. However my friend and I left with the jankiest nails that were falling off faster than they did them. We called and they offered to redo them the next day, I went in and showed them how most of the nails were falling off and lifted off my nails multiple times. Go anywhere else! I had the powder done at beyond nails, it took 2 hours, because my technician kept messing up. I asked several times if it was going to be easy to take off and she said it was. I also asked if I would be able to keep my nails when they took the powder off and they said they could, no problem. Three weeks later when I went to have them removed. Without asking the technician immediately cut my nail all the way down. I pulled away, shocked and asked her why she just cut my nail off. She said that is how we do it here, if you don't want us to you have to tell us. Seriously? I asked if there was a way to keep my nails long, and she said yes, but it takes longer. I have very long natural nails, the fact that she just chopped one off entirely, without asking blew me away. She then asked if I wanted to keep my other nails long, I told her since she just cut one off, it would look terrible. She proceeded to take the powder off all my other nails (while leaving them long), and the powder came off fine. Because of her first chop, she then proceeded to cut the other nails off and file them. They were really uneven, not the same length and just done terribly. Go somewhere else, this place is terrible. Terrible and Rude management! I took my girls to get their nails gel polished along with 2 other moms and their girls. I came in and made an appointment earlier in the day and when we showed up for the appointment owner was flustered. I get it can be overwhelming that they all wanted the same color and all at the same time but they were aware when I made the appointment. When she was placing us with the manicurist she was rude and said "this is a cheap service, we are doing you a favor!" Was that even necessary? Anyway, the nails turned out ok but lasted 1 day. My twenty first birthday I decided to get my nails done. I called in advance for an appointment for a friend and I to get pampered because that friend had recommended this place to me. They had no problem accommodating my reservation. Arriving at the salon the owner, Vicki, greeted me and told me it was no problem I was late due to construction in the area and told me to pick out colors. I usually don't like gel bc I had a bad manicure that chipped and was thick and bubbly. She explained to me the quality of the products she uses and how much better gel is than regular polish. I agreed to try it one more time. It's included in the full set price! I also asked the owner the difference between white and pink acrylic to which she explained how much more quality the pink was. She only uses OPI product due to its reputation. She finished filing and shaping and already my nails looked perfect without polish. Then Nancy took me to do my special polish. I generally do some crazy stuff with my nails so I wanted to see their creativity and talent. I was not disappointed. The gel polish was smooth, not thick, and not bubbly. It looks absolutely perfect and Nancy was so sweet and very talented. It was my first time here and I will definitely be going back to see these two wonderful artists. Went in with two friends and we all sat together and even enjoyed a glass of wine ( not offered - a friend knew they had it available) . The place was extremely busy and the employees didn't interact with us whatsoever, even when we asked a question or paid a compliment. The person in charge (owner, manager ?) was "cracking a whip." She was rushed and rude, to us and the employees. That kind of human interaction is really disappointing and, though the final pedicure was good (super rushed) the experience wasn't relaxing at all. read more

I have tried this Salon previously and thought, not 5*; but in a pinch and during this Pandemic; everyone is struggling just to keep their doors open. I thought I would do my part and just get a pedicure. I made an appointment thus allowing to sanitize between customers. When I arrived, I was instructed to sign in. There were no other customers. The clip board was over flowing with sheets totally filled, the pen lying on top. I mentioned to the gal, there was no place to sign, which she quickly thumbed through a minimum of 20 pages totally filled. Instead of seeking a blank sheet, nope she dug to the very end and found a single sheet with approximately 4-5 blank lines, and proceeded to hand me the "contaminated pen." I politely told her I had my own pen. She made no move to remove and wipe any part of the desk. Considering no other customers were in the Salon, I assumed all chairs were wiped down according to Covid-19 guidelines, so I sat confidently and enjoyed a pedicure. I was asked if I would like a manicure as well. I inquired if she had time, I would be glad to patronize them. I have been to other Salons where common practice in this day is to hand the customer their heel scrubbers and emory boards as this is in total violation of cross contamination and must be disposed of. After my pedicure, the plastic tub cover was removed; but I was not offered the items, and they were not placed in the plastic cover to be thrown away. I was moved to a manicure table. While I sat getting my manicure, no one cleansed the chair that I had just vacated, nor had the tub been sprayed down where my feet were in. I watched in horror as 4 other young ladies came in for pedicures and were instructed to sign in, pick a color and sit in the very chair I had just vacated. To add insult to injury, as I went to pay at the same unsterile desk there was a huge sign indicating "due to Covid-19 necessary precautions All Services will incur a $5 increase." I used cash, had no gloves on, and the girl took the cash with gloves, thanked me and I watched as she did not remove her gloves, and proceeded to start a pedicure one of the new Customers. So tell me, Beyond Nails, how are you compliant with Covid-19 precautions? You increase your prices, do not even spray down chairs, pens, desk, or have your employees change their gloves between clients? It is your blatant disregard for Customer safety that has prompted me to write this review, contact the Washoe County, and Health Department. Maybe the extra money you are charging for each Service has gone to pay the Governor to not mandate your Business to comply with safe practices. Slapping your business with a fine is not enough. People are getting very sick and dying and you deserve to have your business shut down. You have given honest, safety first businesses a Bad name. Shame on You! read more

Do a mediocre job while talking crap about the clients to one another in their native language. Each time I went they only partially painted some of my toes. Which you sometimes can't see until to look real close. They have crappy attitudes towards customers bringing them business. They need to be more appreciate of their clientele before there all gone! I'm only putting one star cause my nails came out fine. But if you are used to asking for dip or design go elsewhere . I wish I would've looked them up prior. I was a walk-in and asked if they had time to do a dip manicure. Instead of providing samples they told me to look in the box full of dip powders to choose my color , which was full of dust that I got all over my clothes so I gave up. I settled for gel . They were extremely rude and in a rush, mind you I was there at 3 and their store hours say open til 7pm. It's not like they were busy either cause the 2 girls I was speaking with were doing each others nails and had me wait which is fine but don't rush me out and do a half ass job cause you got caught up. Customers treated like cattle. Don't bother making an appointment. They say they check their non existent schedule and triple book. You're lucky to get in within the hour even with an "appointment ." Walk-ins get seated before customers with appointments. No customer service. They will look at you for an hour before acknowledging you. Okay so if you want a no frills, get-the-job-done pedicure in Spanish Springs, then head on over to Beyond Nails located in the Sparks Crossing shopping center. Cleanliness..check! They keep their foot baths clean by using a plastic lining. Foot care... Check!! They do a nice job of washing, trimming and grating! Massage... check! They spend a good 10ish minutes on a scrub and lotion massage(a lot of other places I've been to skimp on this phase). Painting nails... check! My girl did a neat and tidy job of painting my toes, making sure to put my flip flops on BEFORE painting. What a concept! Too bad I didn't love the color I chose, but that's on me! I would say the only minus I would give is that the massage chair didn't work very well and for someone such as myself with a bad back, I was a little disappointed with that.
