We were referred to beyond from a friend who hired them to redo their front yard. We had also talked to many contractors about redoing our backyard during the drought but the prices made us not choose them. After seeing the quality of work beyond did we decided to have them come out for an estimate. Yair came out and took some measurements and gave us a free quote. From the beginning he was very friendly and made you feel comfortable about hiring him. He was very thorough in explaining the process and giving us different options for our turf. He showed us many different completed projects of his and they were all great. After seeing his professionalism and the work he's done I expected his estimate to be much higher than the others who came. To my surprise the estimate was actually the best we received and he was able to start very quickly. He finished on time and his crew was very clean and ensured we were happy. They happily came back to do a couple touch ups the next day without having to hound them about it. He personally came back to ensure we were completely satisfied after work was completed. Headache, that's what I got dealing with this project plus the project manager's bad customer service. The owner was nice, but the 2-week $30,000 project for our pavers and artificial grass was a stressful one for me. The project manager assigned to me only visited a few times in a span of 2 weeks and denied a few of his promises even if some were in the contract already. They had to redo a few areas 2-3x because of uneven pavers and door not opening due to pavers installed being higher than original concrete that was demolished. The project manager asked for additional payment during the process, which I did not pay. He even told me to pick up the mulch at Home Depot myself because he said it was not in the contract. He even told me I had bad manners. I will look for another company for our driveway project next time. read more

They say when looking for a contractor never go with the most expensive bid or the cheapest bid. Beyond Remodeling and Building was that sweet spot in the middle for me. I'd reached out to a few other companies prior to calling them and got their bids but the project managers were all very fluky. I called Beyond Remodeling and Building on a random afternoon after seeing their advertisement in a magazine and spoke to a man named Yair, who I thought was just another project manager until I met him in person. Mind you I'm typically hesitant when dealing with contractors but I got a different vibe from Yair right from our first encounter. What really sealed the deal with me was his knowledge, professionalism and creative ideas on how to transform my small area into something amazing. All my fears and doubts immediately went away after learning that he was not just the project manager I was going to deal with but also the owner of the company, which made me feel even more confident because that's when I knew he was going to stand by his work and make sure everything went to my liking. The project kicked off as soon as the materials arrived and a crew of 5-6 people started working. Yair kept me updated on ALL things which I really appreciated. Everything from the gravel rock border to the positioning of the low voltage lights to when the crew would be arriving every day of the project. The crew were very punctual and attentive to my needs as well. They always cleaned up the area after the work was done for the day. That means a lot to me because it shows the company's ethics. Yair was very quick to respond to my calls/texts which made the communication very smooth. One thing that Yair did that truly impressed me was that he noticed the previous vendor I had used to run the gas line had positioned the pipe's end dead center of where the fire pit was supposed to be built and that was not ideal for how the positioning of the pit was supposed to be constructed. He informed me of this issue and told his crew to dig out the pipe and reposition it so that it would be in the correct spot. He said that anyone else would have typically charged extra for this unforeseen additional labor but he did it out of the goodness of his heart knowing full well that the piping that was done previously wasn't perfect and that didn't sit well with him. That right there is a prime example of why I would do business with Yair again and recommend Beyond Remodeling and Building to anyone looking for a contractor. One last sore spot in our new home was the unfinished back area where our utilities, water softener and electrical are. This area quickly got overrun by tall weeds, heavy vegetation and eventually rats found there way back in the tall bush. Our security motion cameras would pick up movement in the middle of the night with rats climbing the walls staring straight into the camera...basically a nightmare. We finally decided to do something about that space, clean it up, make it usable and who knows, even use it as a hosting space? I met with several contractors over a few weeks. Some were cheap, some were very expensive. All of them either lacked a sense of trust or were very heavy handily trying to upsell all sorts of other things we didn't need. In the end I finally met Roy from Beyond Remodeling and you know, you know when you meet someone and instantly have a sense of trust, honesty and expertise? Very rare when it happens. Roy is the best. Gives it to you straight, gives an honest assessment. They were not the cheapest or the most expensive. After a few options we decided to do pavers and to cover some ugly supporting wall stumps with pavers and bricks as well. The work was completed on schedule, his crew is epic in their commitment and skill. The project lead would stay till 10, 11pm some nights just getting things perfect...completely unnecessary but you get a sense they treat each project as their last and want to make sure the customer is beyond happy. My neighbor got the same work done and is equally impressed. The area went from alleyway dump to a surprising space we actually hosted people at for the July 4th weekend. Unreliable and unprofessional. I made an appointment with them to visit the job site and give us a quote. And I followed up and asked for an appointment confirmation which I received. They specifically asked for my husband to be present at the time of the appointment which was unnecessary in my opinion but he took time off from work to be there. They didn't show up for the appointment and when we called them they said their project manager was not feeling well. I hired Beyond Remodeling and Building to build a series of pathways in my backyard with interlocking pavers so that my elderly parents could walk safely outdoors. From the first meeting where he presented me with his bid, Roye was professional, courteous, friendly and had a can-do attitude. He worked with me to make sure we got exactly the right shape and color of the pavers I wanted (I was very fussy about that, LOL). And, he ensured that the pathways followed the existing contours of my yard with beautiful curves even though those were hard to do. He also replaced some underground irrigation that was worn out. The job was done quickly, efficiently, and to very high standards. He later sent some of his workers to fill in any little gaps with polymeric sand, left me extra supplies, and even came in person when one of my grey water irrigation openings seemed to not be working - even though it was our fault, not his (it works now).
