Throughout the entire process, Mike was very professional and the level of expertise he exhibited was obvious. Before Mike, I had met with 3 other contractors to compare services and quotes but what sealed the deal for me was the 3D render service Mike offered. It was affordable and it would be free if you end up going with MDM for your remodel. Mike was able to get the renderings to me very quickly and made adjustments whenever we wanted to change something. Seeing the details of the renderings really brought what we were envisioning to life and helped with the design process. Fast forward to beginning of demo/construction, Mike's employees were impressively fast and efficient at their jobs, but what really impressed me was how clean they kept our property after each day of work. And that stated true throughout the entire process of our 7 month renovation. During construction, if there were any last minute changes, Mike would always try to cater to our needs whenever possible. Even if subcontractors made mistakes with anything, Mike would make sure it is fixed and perfect right away. Keep in mind, you can't rely on Mike for everything (as much as you might want to). You really do have to do your research (in terms of design, finishing materials, sourcing those materials, and getting them delivered on time) and know exactly what you want and how you want it, that way, Mike can plan and put into action what needs to be done. After this entire process, we are extremely happy we got this project completed with MDM. What really sets them apart is the quality of work, dependability, and the great people that work for MDM. Shoutout to Mario! They really respected our home and were very considerate of us during construction. Even after everything was finished, they guaranteed that they would come back and fix anything that needed fixing. Cannot recommend them enough if you want to improve or build your new home!

He responded quickly, and we discussed what we were looking for in re-purposing the rear 1/3 of our property. He described his vision and methods, and provided a very reasonable quote. We decided to move forward, and we left it up to him to provide and plant what was needed to create a perfect space that was both functional for entertainment and really pleasant to just relax and enjoy. Gio and his team did not disappoint. He met (and exceeded) our expectations, and stuck to the schedule and budget. And he didn't just create planter areas and new lawn, he also installed a paver walkway to match our existing patio stones. When he was finished with the original scope, he offered to maintain the rear yard to make sure our investment (and his hard work) would continue to look as good as the day he finished. Neal arrived on time, thoroughly assessed the system, and replaced all of the necessary sprinkler heads. He also provided effective solutions for improving the coverage and performance of several irrigation zones. In addition to the excellent service, their pricing was very reasonable. Our home (built in 1988) was in desperate need of a patio and driveway upgrade. Due to years of ground settling, there were cracks in the concrete throughout. Our original goal was to have it all torn up and have new concrete poured, but then we realized that pavers are so much better for both appearance and resale value. And the cost isn't much more. We had four estimates from various contractors. Some were larger contractors that claim to be more reputable -- the ones who can afford large, fancy ads -- and others who were smaller independents that were simply recommended. Estimates varied of course ... I was surprised to learn that independent contractors often don't own their equipment, so due to equipment rental fees, they will charge more for the job than the larger contractors. Anyway, cut to the chase, EHD Builders bid the job at a reasonable price and we accepted. Yaniv is very personable, a good listener, and he doesn't do a hard sell like the other guys. He walked with us through every yard of our property, provided various options, and explained exactly how the demo and paving would be done. The job was completed this summer, and we love it! We had to redo our driveway, courtyard, backyard and front gate. EHD did a superb job! It was a great experience working with Josh, the foreman, and his team. These guys are fast, responsive and very detail oriented. They did a phenomenal job! During the process there were change of orders several times. The crew did an excellent job of taking out our old patio and pool deck and putting in our new pavers. We went with the Belgard Victorian Lafitt Patio Slab. The new patio looks great. They used two crews, one for demolition and one for installation. Each of the crews paid attention to detail and were highly professional. They added a hidden drain in the center of the patio, and attached it to our existing drainage, which looks far better than my original idea. We installed pavers on our driveway and all around the perimeter of our home four years ago. Over the last few months, the pavers started to lift and separate. He was available to answer questions, which was great as we'd never hired a contractor before in this capacity. The entire project took about nine months, with roughly half that time spent navigating Los Angeles County's permitting and approval process. Picture Build's permit coordinator did an excellent job keeping everything moving and minimizing delays. The demolition phase was exceptional. Luis and his crew removed our old pool in a neighborhood where heavy equipment wasn't an option, so most of the work had to be done by hand. Their skill, professionalism, and attention to detail were impressive. Once demolition was complete, a talented team of craftsmen brought our vision to life. They poured new concrete, built a beautiful stacked-stone retaining wall, and installed stunning travertine pavers throughout the patio. The quality of their workmanship is outstanding. Our project manager, Jorge, kept both the demolition and construction phases running smoothly. Like any major project, we encountered a few minor challenges, but every issue was resolved quickly and professionally by Jorge or John Durso, the company's general manager. What made this project especially important to us was that we managed the entire job remotely from our home in Northern California. Danny made that process remarkably easy. He communicated consistently, answered every question thoroughly, sent frequent photos and videos, and kept us informed throughout the preparation and installation. We never felt out of the loop. The quality of the work was outstanding. Their team removed the existing decomposed granite, properly prepared and graded the area, installed and compacted a base, added the weed barrier, carefully laid and trimmed the turf around curved borders and existing stepping stones, secured the edges and seams, applied the upgraded zeolite infill, and power-broomed the finished surface. They clearly cared about the details--not just whether it looks good on installation day. Danny also stood out during the bidding process. We received several quotes, and he was transparent about the exact turf product, specifications, backing, base preparation, and infill options. He did not simply recommend the most expensive upgrade. Instead, he explained what he believed was the best balance of durability, appearance, and long-term value for a family rental property. That honesty gave us a great deal of confidence. The finished yard looks great. The turf has a lush, natural appearance, the curved edges and transitions were handled beautifully, and the existing pavers, mature landscaping, and black lava-rock planter areas were preserved and integrated very well. After being treated badly by two previous contractors and wasting a significant amount of money on…read morework that added little value to our properties, we knew we couldn't afford another mistake. Ironically, both of those contractors had been recommended by people we knew. That experience taught us an important lesson: we needed to do our own research and find someone we could truly trust. Danny was actually my favorite candidate from the beginning when I started collecting bids in late 2023. His quote wasn't the cheapest, and at first I questioned the price. Later, Danny explained something he called the "salami tactic." Some contractors intentionally submit low bids by leaving out critical work that inexperienced homeowners don't know to ask for. Those missing items eventually become expensive change orders, and the surprises never seem to end. We experienced exactly that. One previous contractor knew our electrical system couldn't support the appliances we planned to install, yet he simply said, "Anything you want." The project looked good on the surface, but it wasn't done properly. We eventually had to open finished walls again just to upgrade the electrical system. What I appreciate most about Danny is his honesty. He never told us what we wanted to hear just to win the job. He explained what actually needed to be done, why it mattered, and what could happen if shortcuts were taken. Sometimes those conversations weren't easy, but looking back, he was protecting our investment, not trying to increase the bill. Throughout the project, Danny communicated clearly, answered every question patiently, and treated our renovation as if it were his own. When unexpected issues came up--as they often do in a 100-year-old building--he didn't disappear or make excuses. He solved them. Even after the project was substantially completed, he came back to address the remaining punch-list items. That level of responsibility is rare. Today we have a duplex we're truly proud of, and more importantly, we have confidence that it was built correctly and safely. If you're looking for the lowest bid, Danny may not always be your contractor. But if you're looking for honesty, integrity, craftsmanship, and someone who genuinely cares about your project, I can recommend Danny and the entire MY CALI BUILDERS team without hesitation.
