A first rate meal and experience from the second we walked through the door. This restaurant is a class act. We weren't looking for Tai food when we stumbled upon this restaurant. We were looking to eat at the Bistro across the street but it was closed and didn't open for several hours. We spied this place and opted to give it a try and we are elated we did. First of all, it's simply a very attractive restaurant. Spacious, clean, very tastefully decorated and it has a world class outdoor seating area. It was chilly out and we still chose to sit outside. It's such a beautiful space it seemed a waste not to. We ordered a few beers and appetizers first. Spring rolls and crab cheese wantons. Both were fresh, tasty and well plated. Real care goes into preparing food and it shows. My main course was Drunken Noodles with shrimp made spicy and it just may have been my best Asian meal of the year. It was absolutely scrumptious from the first bite to the last. My friends had Pineapple Curry and BBQ Pork Noodles and their report was equally glowing. What made our meal even better? Our server, a wonderful man named Eli, was exceptional. We had questions, he had answers. He made suggestions, we took them. On a Thursday night, the vibes were meh (empty) but the food was good! For a table of 4, we shared the panang curry, drunken noodles, and basil fried rice. They were able to make it all vegan for us as well so we could share with our vegan friends. Everything was very tasty and we struggled to finish it all so we didn't have to take anything home. Ordered delivery through a delivery app. After placing the order, I waited about 10 minutes to call and request that everything be made c GF because the app would not let me select that as an option or provide instructions. Overall is was hit or miss. We want to return to see if some things improve. The first thing we noticed as we entered was how uncomfortably hot the temperature was inside. Maybe their a/c was broken, or they're trying to save some money on their cooling bill, but on a 98 degree day, that was pretty miserable. They had fans going and the door open, but it didn't help. Service was good. They seemed maybe a bit short staffed. At some points a little girl was bringing things to our table, which we thought was cute, but others may find unprofessional. Their food was pretty good. We loved their coconut soup! It was creamy but light and super flavorful. We ordered it with shrimp and chicken. I got their papaya salad and it was unusual, but not bad. Just different from any papaya salad I have ever eaten. My son had the drunken noodles which were decent. They were a bit heavy handed with the crushed peanut garnish. Too gritty of a texture for me, but flavor was there. Husband had a stir fried dish that was good, not great. The soup was the star and the Thai teas here are huge! They were sweet and creamy and very good. My daughter ordered tempura shrimp for some strange reason, and they were fried well, but didn't come with a typical tempura sauce. They came with a sweet chili sauce. She liked them. I thought it was a strange thing to offer at a Thai restaurant. Overall, we were satisfied. The food was the only good thing here. Not "fire" just good. The service...well let's just say that she didn't look happy to be there. When I recommended she wipe down the menus. I thought she was going to kill me. I wasn't trying to be mean but help. After that she almost ignored us. Her husband came in and the service improved. We grabbed our own napkins, chili, and to go box. So not much improvement. Let me add, we were the only people there. Not sure why restaurants decorate with tacky plastic flowers? The hot and sour soup with shrimp was tasty. I ordered medium spicy and it had good heat. The Pad Thai was decent, and about an average portion. Spring Rolls were ok, probably wouldn't order them again. I also read a review that said a patron had to beg the manager to wear a mask. I treated Nick out to lunch at this top notch spot spot called Beyond Thai!! I chose this spot because it would cater to both of our cravings!! It's vegan, gluten free and also delicious. Beyond Thai served us during the impacts of The Great Employee Shortage of 2021- because like every other spot, it was short on hostesses. Regardless of the shortage, they managed to make our visit worthwhile. The area is lovely, the outdoor seating was perfect for the sunny weather that day. Beyond Thai is located by a park with a small bike trail and other really nice restaurant options. We were enjoying the veggie rolls as appetizers with sweet and tangy siracchia sauce! The exterior wrap of the veggie roll were hot, hot, hot and incredibly crunchy!!! We ordered two of these appetizers to share. Never underestimate the levels of spiciness when ordering your dish! My Pineapple Curry Bowl would've been more tolerable if I just ordered mild, but I wanted to be such a daredevil and try out the flavor of the curry!! The white rice was actually perfect and I ordered a second scoop of rice. I dumped the cups of rice into the pineapple curry and it was pretty tasty. Nick's Tom Kha Soup was phenomenal in every way!! It was actually the right level of spicy and it was creamy and delicious. The portions were good for two people and very filling. I really enjoyed it so much, we ordered an extra order of Pad Thai. Came here for our anniversary tonight and LOVED everything we ate. Seriously, cleaned every plate. Chef RJ is a sweetheart and chatted with us for a bit. We shared our appetizer of edamame and dessert of mango sticky rice. The edamame was great, but the mango sticky rice was HEAVEN. Still drooling thinking about it. Ripe mango sliced next to a warm pillow of rice drizzled with sweet coconut cream- O. M. Geeee!!!! It's been hard to find good Thai in town. This place was pretty good, and we sampled a lot: - crab wontons - no hot mustard, but good crab flavor - chicken egg rolls - small, but good. Served with same sweet sauce as crab wontons - Thai noodle soup - daughter and wife loved this stuff, huge portion - pad Thai, spicy, with chicken and tofu - pretty tasty! - drunken noodles, medium, with chicken - good, but preferred the pad Thai.
