It was our second time here and it was even better! First time we came was on Valentines Day and I loved the dessert they had, please bring it back! The second time around we came for my mom's bday and Father's Day yesterday and everything was delicious. I do wish the butter chicken had more pieces of chicken. My favorite item was the Paneer and desserts as always. The Smoky Delhi, Espresso Martini and the Bellini drinks were so good as well. My parents can be quite picky and really enjoyed the goat biryani and said it was the perfect spice level for them. The ambience is pretty and they made sure to provide my family with comfortable seating as I notated it's my mother's bday and I wanted my parents to be as comfortable as possible. Valet parking, gorgeous space, friendly service. The restaurant is dimly lit and decorated beautifully. Our waiter was very attentive and patient as we had lots of questions. The cocktails all had an Indian twist, the Shikanji sour was very light and refreshing, you definitely tasted the masala. For appetizer we had the cheese balls which were very good, a nice sized portion & the Lucknowi Kabob which is a minced lamb patty (3 pieces). They were spicy and very tasty but i prefer lamb chunks as opposed to minced. For entree I had the butter chicken and garlic naan which is my go to and it did not disappoint, the dish was spicier than expected, it should be labeled as chicken tikka masala. The portion is large enough for 2. My friend had the Goan Fish Curry which was delicious! A smaller portion. We don't normally order fish but the waiter highly recommended and we're glad we tried it. It was the best thing we had all night. Very different and elevated, this dish embodied the vibe of the restaurant. For dessert I was disappointed that they didn't have rasmalai, we tried the LITCHI KI TEHRI which was like a lychee pudding, it was very delectable and different. A little pricey for Indian food but worth it for an elevated experience and great food ($100pp) Can't wait to return to this restaurant to try their brunch. read more

Wow. I came here with my two foodie friends and we have a high standard. This upscale Indian place blew us away. First of all, it's stunning, the decor was done very well. The table even had a tiger at the base! The restaurant used to be a nice Italian place and I am so happy it changed over. Keep in mind they have complimentary valet parking. For drinks, we ordered the old fashioned, the house bourbon is old forester, say no more. It was so tasty. Shikanji vodka sour was also ordered and my friends loved it. To start, we shared apps. My friends had the mail cheese masala bomb, which they loved. They also shared with me, the Lucknowi galouti kebab. It was really good and the sauce on the side was spicy but tasty. For dinner my friend ordered the butter chicken, she loved it. My other friend had the tandoori lamb chops. I tried both and they were excellent. I loved my madras Chilean sea bass. This place has lots of potential but sadly missed in several ways. Came here twice now and it wasn't much better. Most recently, I made a reservation for a Saturday evening at 7p two weeks in advance. Was told the tabled needed to be prepared when we arrived. At about 7:10p, they offer us a small dime sized table for 2 people retrofitted to fit 3 people. When asked if they had a larger table, they said this is what we have for now. After pushing them that we reserved weeks out and this was the best they could do, they begrudgingly gave us a larger table. Having been here once before, the small table barely fit food for two with drinks, sides of rice/naan. Eventually we got a table that could accommodate 4 which was comfortable for three. Service continued to be chaotic. They sent about 4 servers to us throughout the night. One seemed to be training, but continued to ask questions for our orders previous servers asked already. We kept clarifying we already put in an order of x and to make sure it didn't go in twice. Just an odd experience all around. The food itself was either really well prepared while others were very mediocre or borderline bland. The best items were the appetizers/small bites. The Lucknowi Galouti kebab was so tender and well seasoned. The small flat bread it was placed on were think but crispy and held the patty well. The Ajwaini pepper fish fry was also crispy without being heavily battered or overly oily. The seasoning was simple but balanced a d tasty. The mains were where the dishes started to fall flat. The paneer butter masala was good but could have had more paneer. I came twice and ordered it both times, but the second time had fewer paneer cubes and more gravy. The garlic naan was well slightly over-charred on some pieces but was otherwise good. The khameeri roti just tasted like an unbuttered naan and not as expected. The dal tadka was labeled vegan (no cream) so we got it for a lighter dish, but it was quite oily and not otherwise remarkable. The chicken dum biryani was the worst dish. Biryani rice that breaks or doesn't keep its stiffness ruins the bite. The rice was completely overdone and crumbly. The seasoning was almost nonexistent. Chicken was not well seasoned. Usually in addition to warm spice blends, rose or other flower essences are added, but they did not come through at all. The interior has well curated decor. The music is a little too house leaning for conversation so it distracted me. Others might like that vibe though. Probably would try again when they've worked through some service workflows, but would definitely skip biryani. read more

There are restaurants that have better tasting dishes without the ambiance. Isn't that what's important at the end of the day ? Coming out and saying "the food was really good". But can't say that here. However, I would encourage everyone to try it once if you don't mind paying the $$$ prices for average dishes. Would I return ? Sorry. Bhaijaan is yet another fine dining Indian restaurant in Hicksville NY. I personally think the variety of options available in the area is a very good thing. Competition always benefits the customer I say. The ambiance is fantastic with a very warm and cosy feel to it. Food was good with the mains easily out doing the appetizers in my opinion. The appetizers were also a little on the smaller side than expected. Service was quick and our server was very knowledgeable on their best dishes - his recommendations were mostly spot on. We had a reservation for 7:30 and arrived right on time at 7:28. We were told we could grab drinks at the bar and that our table would be ready in just a few moments. Time kept passing, and by 8:05 we were still waiting. We asked a few times about being seated and overheard the hostess wanting to seat a table of four that had just walked in before seating us as a party of two. Thankfully, the GM Amol stepped in and quickly had us seated, which we appreciated. Once seated, the ambiance really stood out. The restaurant is gorgeous, very upscale and modern, with strong NYC vibes. Knowing the owner previously had Pipali in NYC, which we frequented often, the aesthetic made complete sense and set high expectations. Service started off well, but became inconsistent. We ordered condiments at the same time as our food, yet had to reorder them multiple times. When they finally arrived, it was essentially when we were already finishing our meal, which was disappointing. That said, the food itself was incredible. Everything we ordered was superb and clearly thoughtfully prepared. My only critique food-wise was the lobster curry. While flavorful, the shells were left in for garnish and there were broken shell pieces mixed into the dish, which took away from the experience. I do want to acknowledge that this is a new restaurant and they are still finding their footing, so I'm not looking to bash them. However, a nearly 40-minute wait past a reservation time without any accommodation or gesture is unacceptable. Still, the food truly was amazing, and that absolutely deserves to be noted. With some tightening up on service and pacing, this place has the potential to be excellent. read more

We had a great dining experience at Bhaijaan! We called on the day of for a reservation, and though they were full, we were able to get a table a few minutes after we arrived. The space is beautiful- authentic, good music and great vibe. The food was delicious! We were a party of 4 so we ordered a few apps and 4 mains. Plenty of food and so many delicious tastes! For apps: Beet root kabobs - different, light and tasty Ajwaini pepper fish fry- a little kick, very tasty, light for fried food Palak patta- my personal favorite!! So tasty! For mains: Delhi's butter chicken- my friend loved it- her favorite dish! So tasty! Paneer butter masala- my main and it was so tasty! I got medium spice which was a perfect amount! Lamb shank Rogan Josh - they enjoyed - I think it wasn't the favorite but very good. Chicken biryani- had a flaky cover- very tasty. Okay, I was super excited to try this place. Tbh when I walked in I didn't expect much. It was advertised as fine dining but the music was super loud, the ambience felt a bit off. Once we were seated it took a while for the server to bring our menus and water. Again considering this is a fine dining establishment. However, the food is fantastic. We tried the fish fry, the guloti kababs, aloo tiki chat, keema pao and the chicken biryani. Everything tastes so delicious. We ended our meal with the pan a Cotta and the lychee tehri. We had the most embarrassing experience here. I had booked my husband's birthday party for 15 people on the third weekend of March. I decided to take my husband the weekend before so he gets to try out the food. My husband has food allergies to combinations of meat and alcohol. So often times we take our own bottle of wine the many restaurant and pay for the corking fee. Shortly after we were seated, I worked with the hostess to decide on the area where we would have my husband's party for the following weekend. Meanwhile, my husband told the waiter about the bottle of wine we had brought. The manager came and basically we told us we are not allowed to open our bottle of wine and walked away. After I returned from speaking with the hostess and setting up things for my husband's birthday for the following weekend, I discovered we no longer were allowed to open the bottle of wine. The waiter tried to speak with the manager, but was denied. I explained to the host is that my husband has allergic reactions to specific meat and alcohol. Both the hostess and the waiter tried speaking to the manager. The manager did not change his mind. Came to our table and told us that we cannot accommodate you. We were looking forward to having our party the following weekend, giving them our business- the manager cared less about keeping a customer happy with a food and drink accommodation! Unfortunately, we were mistreated, and we decided to leave. The hostess is the waiter and the valet guy were phenomenal. I would give it a negative star if I was allow to do so based on their inability to understand someone's allergies in this day and age. read more
