Pizza and service was good. We ordered a thin crust pizza (+$3) and it was tasty to the bone. Cheese crust baked to crispy. We liked it! When we got the bill we were puzzled to see a line for "operational cost (5%), which was not noted on the menu or anywhere, added as a line item before subtotal. So, this is not a CC processing fee... We didn't like these mystery fee slipped right in to the receipt. What a disappointment.... Decided to order pizza to go for an easy first night in Kona after lots of travel. I was pleasantly surprised at how good the pizza here came out, though there weren't too many places to choose from without driving far out and this once was highly recommended by multiple sources. I got a half rooster, half garden island pizza and loved the combination. The crust was doughy, yet crispy, unlike the stereotypical undercooked Papa Johns. The BBQ chicken and artichoke side by side was delicious and I appreciated how many vegetables were actually on it, not just a bunch of olives and peppers. read more

Overpriced for something that tastes like a frozen microwave meal..... husband and I sat down and ordered our meals. His came out but mine did not, we were told there was a problem with my chicken burning so it came out about 20 minutes after my husband had gotten his food. I've been to Bianellis multiple times throughout the years and I have to say that the new owners have really made upgrades to everything. The new logo, the fresh local ingredients, the liquor offerings, the service... Everything is totally improved. I really love their pizzas and the pesto bread! You can really taste and see the difference in the ingredients compared to before. I wish they had a location closer to town but it makes the trip out to Keauhou worth it for sure! read more

Ordered a spaghetti with marinara to go for my daughter and I have to say that the spaghetti was delicious, the staff were friendly and warm, the ambiance was family friendly and inviting, and the food all looked quite tasty. I would consider coming back here for a pizza or another pasta myself on our next trip to Kona. We were able to get the pasta in less than 10 minutes and it was a good portion for the price and very flavorful yet still kid friendly. Well done! read more

The Greek $23.45 dollar salad + plus tip = $27.00. Judge for yourself the photo. The salad does not taste like used to taste . The honey vinaigrette dressing does not have any flavor. I am glad I didn't ask for any protein because that would have been a $50 salad. The salad is the size of a quart Ziploc bag. The new owners just came to cause damage to this famous and landmark Kona restaurant and took away the authentic Italian flavor of the food. Shame on the new owners. read more

Good service costs less than bad service. We came here because the babe was really craving pasta and they had gluten free options on the menu. We tried to dine here twice on our recent trip and each time, the wait for actual food was 45 minutes to an hour and half. We couldn't even place a take out order. They accredited the issue to staff shortage. To ask guests to be seated for that lengthy of a time and not have food service is pretty ridiculous, especially at the cost of the entrees. I think at that point, you temporarily close down to address management and staffing issues. Customers don't measure how hard you tried, they measure on what you deliver. read more

Bianelli's Kona is one of mine and my husband's favorite eating spots to stop at every time we're in Kona! We remember the first time traveling there and having dinner, to the time just after we got married, and now getting to dine here with our kids! Needless to say, this will always be a favorite stop for us. The service is fast and friendly, the menu is simple and delicious, and the ambiance is nice and casual. This time around, we all shared the Greek salad. Our son ordered a small cheese pizza (they don't have a kids menu, I guess). We also had the lasagna with pink sauce and the lobster ravioli with garlic butter. The entrees came with giant, delicious pieces of garlic bread! Everything was so good, we even had leftovers for the next night. As long as their around, we'll keep coming to Bianelli's whenever we're in Kona! read more

The thick crust Italian Job 12 inch pizza was so very delicious! Just realize that only 12 inch pizza comes in thick crust! Our friends ordered the Rooster pizza in 16 inch in thin crust and they described it as very, very dry and lacking sauce and not nearly enough toppings for $39. Rooster Pizza was only a 1 star!The last thing we ordered was the pesto macadamia bread, which was actually a small pizza. Again very very dry. We were so fortunate to find Bianellis and it was just 5 minutes from our Wyndham resort The restaurant is a beautiful location at night. The staff were super friendly and helpful with the menu. My daughter's boyfriend and I both started with the Dragonfruit Lemonade Cider by Ola Beer Company. It had a beautiful color and a wonderful flavor. I'm a regular cider drinker and this rates very high on my list of favorite ciders. We ordered the BBQ Chicken Pizza and the deep dish Lasagne Pizza. Both were beautifully cooked. The crust on both pizzas was ann my amazing and the flavors were exceptional. We all agreed the Lasagna Pizza was our favorite though. The Ricotta cheese was unexpected and truly made this pizza. Another in our group had pasta in which the chicken was tough & stringy and the Alfredo sauce tasted like it was out of a jar. Please be patient with the staff as they are working so hard to make sure the service and standards are high. Took some time but so worth it. Bianco is the way to go!!! We were in the center for the Friday nite entertainment and pick Bianelli's for dinner be cause we'd heard good things. We were pleasantly surprised! The Italian menu looks great but we couldn't resist pizza. We had the KONA. Lots of meat! Added a salad to split. Pizza was great! Salad was just right mix of good lettuce. Service was fantastic. Probably the worst restaurant experience I've had. Don't mean to sound dramatic but wow.... First off we had to had to clear our own table to sit down . Every empty table was filled with dirty dishes and people were waiting at least 20 minutes to sit down. The food finally came out and the silverware was nowhere to be found ... turns out they ran out and had to wash it. I got the " local " pasta dish and that left me burping up the meal not long after . Walked around the restaurant looking for a restroom because my stomach was upset and turns out they don't have one .... Had to walk in the rain to use the public restroom with the homeless people sitting outside . Then we had to swipe the card ourselves and fill out the prompt to pay . (April 2023) We ordered to go for what was sadly our last night on the Big Island. We opted for take out from a pizza place in a nearby shopping center. The food was amazingly very good! The place had subdued lighting and appeared very clean. The reason for the 2 stars missing is that they forgot our drinks plus the dressing for the salad. Hubby did go back to get the missing items but no apology or comps. That is poor customer service for not fulfilling our to go order 100% and inconveniencing us to return for items that were overlooked! It's sad when you see a restaurant that you have been supporting for decades go downhill. My mother ordered the lasagna and I wish I had taken a picture. It was a small plate of sauce, one noodle, more sauce, and cheese on it. I've never seen a one layer lasagna. We've ordered it many times over the years and it used to be awesome. Gave them an extra star because I ordered the meatball sub and it was tasty. Their sauces have good flavor. M'eh. That about sums up the experience but I'll extrapolate for you. There were six or seven people standing around the kitchen when we walked into an otherwise empty restaurant. There were no other customers there when we walked in. After clearly seeing us, they all ignored us completely for about ten minutes. Just as we were about to walk out a server asked if we wanted a table. The pizza wasn't cheap, but it certainly didn't taste as good as the prices suggest it should. We took home several pieces but probably won't eat them, and we certainly wouldn't be going back for more. The cheesy garlic bread was pretty good though so they do have that going for them. The music was super special however, as overhead we had Madonna singing la Isla Bonita while from the kitchen the Beastie Boys were rocking out the Brass Monkey. After this it became less amusing as the hour wore on with music from the overhead speakers competing with swing, then rock then thrash coming from the kitchen. I'm not sure who was running the radio in the kitchen but they should only run one playlist at a time in their restaurant as it's a real turn off having such a little thing like multiple competing radios screw up the ambience during a meal. read more

Came here because I really wanted pasta. Thrilled to see they had pink sauce, but it tasted a bit weird when I got it and then I noticed there were mushrooms in it (pink sauce usually doesn't have mushrooms, so didn't think to ask) which was alarming to us since one of our family members is allergic. Their pink sauce is a mixture of marinara and their white wine mushroom. Pink sauce is usually marinara with heavy cream or Alfredo. Their pizza crust was delicious. Their pizza is that the type of pizza that all the toppings fall off when you pick it up, so you either have to eat it with a fork or fold it in half to keep the toppings in the crust. They also charge a 5% fee to help cover the cost of rising costs. read more
