You can get a very healthy meal here in clean, modern, comfortable surroundings. First of all, you can choose between purple rice, white rice, rice noodles, wrap or salad. I like that you can get a gluten free noodle! Next, as a hot topping you can pick between bean sprouts, potatoes or black beans, For your protein, select between chicken, spicy chicken, steak or organic tofu. Your cold toppings include, carrots, daikon , cucumber, Kale, lettuce, corn, cheese or eggs. Then finish off with cucumber wasabi, sesame ginger, korean red, yumyum, teriyaki sauces and as a side pineapple or kimchi. Bibibop is new to the Clifton Heights/UC food Scene. The restaurant is bright and clean. The interior is done in white and orange; very modern. It is in the same style of Chipotle or Moe's Burritos. In reality it is an Asian version of Chipotle. You step up and tell them what you want in one of 3 options: A bowl, a salad, or a wrap. Ingredients offered are regular chicken, spicy chicken, steak, or tofu. You then can add, white rice, "purple rice (made of a blend of black and white rice), black beans, carrots, corn, cheese, kale, cucumber, egg, bean sprouts and 3 special sauces. We have gone twice; once to get a rice bowl with tofu, another time to get a spicy chicken wrap. I added several of the trimmings, and each time the meal was excellent. Being so close to the University of Cincinnati, fast food choices abound. This place gives you options for the meat eater or the vegetarian. Bibibop is a welcome step up for a healthy alternative. There is only one slight drawback, which has cost them a star....they offer a free Miso soup. It is like eating lukewarm water with diced scallions. It is pretty bad. Now THIS is the type of flare that Calhoun St. desperately needed. It's aside from anything I've had before, and it's definitely a new fave lunch spot for me! I'll admit it - Bibibop is something I have to be craving to have. It's not somewhere I can go without being in the mood for asian. It's "Chipotle with a twist" and so yummy! My go-to order is a salad with chicken, bean sprouts, cucumbers, carrots and corn. then some teriyaki on the side. Simple, but not terrible for you. It's easy to have a light meal or a denser meal here, which is nice depending on how I'm feeling that day. The ingredients are super fresh and delicious, workers are helpful and location is uber-convenient. This is definitely my new favorite restaurant! I first had it in Columbus and when I found out Cincinnati had one I was so excited! The food is incredible and the staff are super friendly and helpful. You also get free miso soup so what more could you possibly want? I'm really happy to see that Clifton has some healthy, diverse, fast food options. The fast casual model works really well with bibimbap, which translates to "mixed rice" in Korean. I'm jealous of the UC kids and wished there had been a Bibibop on my college campus because then I would have had it at least once a week. The restaurant atmosphere was bright, modern and clean. It's pretty clear that a lot of students do delivery. I'm impressed that they serve a quality product with fresh ingredients. Obviously not the best bibimbap I've had at that price point but for the speed and accessibility I'll give it an A. You can skip the miso soup. Even though it's free, it tastes like salty hot water. Pro-tip get the sauces from the condiment bar so you can control how much goes in. The Korean red sauce was applied heavily and was spicy. This didn't stop me from finishing my entire bowl, but my mouth was on fire towards the end of my meal. On the bright side, at least my sinuses cleared up. read more

Yelpers- I have a feeling you're going to see me checking in to Bibibop QUITE often... Because wow. What a perfect Asian twist to the classic Chipotle-style fast-casual restaurant! Definitely a great addition to the plethora of eateries on Calhoun St. The ingredients are fresh and come together to make a beautiful plate. The flavors are A+ and the selection of sauces really pull it together. Then why did I only give it 3 stars? Well, a few reasons. No deal-breakers but simply observations that might help you determine if it's going to satisfy your lunch craving. Mainly, I eat paleo (more or less) and therefore do not order rice with my bowl. Because of this, I finish the bowl and it leaves me wanting more. Which is great because it means the flavors are incredible, but it's also disheartening that I just spent $7.50 on a lunch that will not last more than an hour into the afternoon. Maybe the filling-experience would be different if you ordered rice. Also, when I do order the salad, I suppose they feel the need to add some juice to it and I always end up with mush at the end of the bowl. I'm going to make a point to ask for the meat dry so this doesn't happen. I don't know about you, but I like my salads to be crisp! So overall - it IS a great experience. They always welcome you in when you enter the doors and are quick to serve. Food is great. Just make sure you're not starving when you go if you plan to make the bowl a bit healthier. They have this purple rice that was flavorful, and all the toppings were fresh and high in nutritious value. The workers were nice and helped me navigate the ordering process smoothly. The purple rice is delicious, the potatoes also delicious, the tofu cooked perfectly, the other toppings also great. As you can tell I think BIBIBOP is delicious. You also really get your money's worth, I can't finish a bowl in one sitting... that's saying a lot, ya boy can eat. The restaurant was easy to find. It is located in a busy street in the university area. I was able to find street parking immediately and walked to the restaurant. I went for dinner around 6pm, once I walked in, I was greeted immediately and the service for the bowls were super quick and easy. They have free soup and condiments which is great! Great place for a variety of dietary restrictions, as just about anyone (vegan, gluten free, nondairy, even just picky eaters) can create a delicious, satisfying meal out of all of the tasty options here. I've now had it a few times and really enjoy it every time! It's just as satisfying with rice base or just salad, I really enjoy the way they prepare their tofu, and there always seems to be just the right proportions of toppings so that when I mix everything up I get a little of everything in each bite. I've tried a few of the different sauces and everything seems to mesh really well together no matter what combo I try. Highly recommend trying it out if you haven't! read more

Tried this quick dining option before an FC game and it was a-ok. First, they were deluged with customers before the game and the counter people got us through quickly and efficiently. I also saw workers clearing trays for people when they were done which was nice. There was an assortment of magazines on a wall for people to read when eating-nice touch! Restroom was also decent. As for the food, well no it is not truly bibimbop. Another guy in line started talking to us, asking if it was the real deal. He was looking for a stone bowl. No, this (as other helpers have noted) is the chipotle version. We did appreciate the freshness of the ingredients. The purple rice, however, was clumped together. Think there was too much water when cooked. The yam noodles were really good! Should have skipped the beans. Seemed more like Chipotle than Korean. The shredded daikon and carrots were good, and the shredded eggs and bean sprouts. I also added kale to mine, which added a nice crunch and color. We would go back! read more

It's my second trying Bibibop because I really wanted to love it. It's clean, the décor is pleasing if bland, and it's quick... But damn does the food miss the mark. This is about as "corporate boardroom voted on by committee" you can get when it comes to Asian fast food: a collection of bland meats and toppings desperately trying to be saved by a panel of sauces equally uninspiring. We have Yum Yum (basically shitty ranch... Because America...), teriyaki, some siracha mix and a watery imitation of Korean Gochu jang. I think the topping that appalled me most was the pile of sliced scramble egg that misses the entire point of having a fried egg on top of bibimbap. Oh, and the diced potatoes that makes everything taste like a breakfast hash from your neighborhood iHop. Seriously though, how is it that Japanese 7-11s can provide better food at better prices than this American chain? Spend a few more dollars and get a real bibimbap across the street or hit up Currito next door for essentially the same thing - although I think they have food that tastes more "Asian" than this mess. This is what really sets apart bibibop from chipotle in my opinion-healthier and fresher toppings. For example-kale, carrot, beets. The average cost is around $7 which is reasonable because the bowl is pretty large. Luckily I had friends who had eaten here before to help me walk through things. The ingredients are unique enough that just making something for the first time isn't quite common sense. Once I got past the initial ordering, I saw that Yum Yum was a sauce option and I knew everything was going to be ok. This is the same sauce that you can get at a Hibachi grill that is so incredibly delicious. Yum Yum on anything has the ability to make most things taste delicious.
