I've seen BIBIBOP Asian Grill multiple times, so I finally decided to order some at work. I got the spicy fried chicken bowl with potatoes, lettuce, kimchi, bean sprouts, carrots, egg, purple rice, and sweet potato noodles. I love how you can customize your bowl and choose from a variety of sauces. I got the gochujang sauce, but it was a little too strong for my liking; I was also not a huge fan of the fried chicken since it tasted very chewy vs crispy and did not taste like real chicken to me. The veggies and sweet potato noodles were very yummy and fresh though. The ingredients pair very well together, so I might need just need to pick a different protein next time. I will say that the bowl was packed and very filling though, so I did enjoy how I got a nice quick meal that was customizable. I was not able to see the ambiance of the restaurant since we ordered delivery, but I'll definitely check out the restaurant again in-person when I get a chance. As a first time guest, I did find the menu to be challenging to navigate. I ended up ordering a pre-selected entree due to this but I was pleased with my choice. After a long day of traveling and landing at ohare starving, this was the absolute perfect place to bring us back to life. Fresh, healthy, and tasty ingredients that can either be ordered as a pre-made bowl, or you can make your own. I'd suggest the latter, it's so good to make exactly what you want, and the combinations are basically endless, with 5-6 each of base choices, proteins, cold ingredients, hot ingredients, and sauces. Originally I was going to get purple rice but then I saw Korean noodles or chopsue. Food was it was delicious they give you a choice of other condiments I went for kale broccoli carrots avocado and they added pineapple which I didn't like because I don't like adding sweet things to my savory dishes. They did have kimchi which I added to my bibbop bowl. It's not really traditional and like I said it's like a Korean version of Chipotle. Well, I've been here twice since their grand opening so I guess that gives you some idea of my thoughts. I came on the grand opening day around 6-6:30 and though the parking lot was totally full (people were parking in the lot across the drive), but the line moved really fast--I was only there for maybe 10 minutes total. I think I've been to Bibibop once since I work directly across the street from the Loop location, but it may have just been the once. It's pretty good, I think. It's fast casual in style where you create your meal along an assembly line. They have a few chef's special bowls or pre-determined recipes, but you can also create something from scratch. I was surprised to find that I really like the Korean beef that they have--it's delicious, though there are a few times where I've had a kind of fatty piece that I didn't eat. The lemonade is pretty good too. I have had the passionfruit lemonade and they had a different flavor when I was there once that I'd like to try. Near the lemonade they had free miso soup for folks to take a cup if they like. Parking is ample, and they have a ton of disabled spots as well. There are a couple mobile app-dedicated spots and I'm definitely going to have to get the app if there are deals there! I'm glad there's a Bibibop in close proximity to my home because it'll make for an easy dinner option now and again. read more

My glass noodles were tasty with the chicken and tofu, but the pickled onions and shredded cheese clashed with the Korean flavors. The broccoli and potatoes didn't match, but were tolerable. It's pretty new to the area, so I would have expected more of an explanation by the servers, but they were both teenagers- at least they have labels at the stations listing the options but would have been nice to have more details. Love the concept - same as Chipotle and Naf Naf with the "create your own" on the line. I did the Korean BBQ beef with half purple rice and half super greens bas with hot broccoli and sprouts and cold carrots with the ginger sesame sauce. My BF had white rice with steak and broccoli with carrots, cucumber and red cabbage also with the ginger sesame sauce. I had a yum yum sauce side. Everything was really fresh and delicious but the Korean beef was a little too salty and the Yum Yum sauce was not worth the calories. If you've never tried it, BIBIBOP serves Korean inspired bowls in the Chipotle-style format. The ingredients are fresh, the food is tasty, and portions are generous. The concept of this restaurant is amazing but the employees are not executing it well. We arrived 2 hours before closing and they were out of broccoli, bean sprouts, and tofu. For some reason they did not appear like they had any plans to make these items and seemed inconvenienced to make the tofu. On the plus side there are many great ways to make your bowl healthy with veggies and protein. For improvement: they have a cookie with no ingredients or nutrition info simple enough to add that info. Could use low sugar soda like Poppi and mineral water.
