My friend from Whittier is also showing me best local spots like El Atacor (we've been going there so often for the past 3 months that it's not even funny) and the discount store across the street that he introduced to me a couple of weeks ago. The interior has some cool decorations, and I swear it felt so cozy like you're stepping inside someone's house. Wanted to like it, but it was Bad. Ribs were precooked and just warmed over the grill. Meat was tough, dry and not so fresh. Potato salad was not good, over vinegared. Disappointed and felt so dumb I hung in there to try these ribs. I came right when they opened. The guy said nothing ready, come back in 1 1/2 hrs. I came back on time, he said it'd be another half hour, was more like 45 min. I sat inside and waited. He kept going out to the bbq out on sidewalk to turn the ribs. I followed and took a peek. I saw some big meaty beef ribs and pointed to a meaty rack I wanted. He said okay, no problem. I said make sure I get that one. He reassured me it'll be the one I get. I also got rack of pork ribs. I got the Bait and Switch. Got home, opened Foil Lid. Instead of the meaty rack I pointed at, got some janky skinny beef ribs without much meat and mostly long skinny bones. The meat was dry, tough and chewy, no taste. I was very pissed off at being lied to, spent $75 bucks total and felt betrayed by either his dishonesty or just his lack of integrity, promising I'd get rack I pointed at and not getting it. Pork ribs were also tough, dry and chewy. Meat was low quality and tasted like it was frozen too long. Didn't taste like fresh meat that was never frozen. I do not recommend and won't ever never, ever come back. I feel bad giving someone a poor review, because he seemed like a nice guy, but I do Not like being played like that. read more
