DISHONEST...Don't trust these guys, especially if you are a minority. I went in with my GIANT road bike which was purchased there to ask a question about converting it to a hybrid. I am speaking with one technician and another male employee is interrupting with sarcastic comments and I picked up on it immediately. When I asked the technician that I was interested in trading the bike in he responded that my bike was to old and that's when Mr . Smart A-- (co-worker) chimed in and said I'll give you $20.00 for your bike. What a disrespectful a--hole. The technician who I was originally speaking to proved to be dishonest to me by attempting to put air in both tires and then telling me the tubes were damaged and needed to be replaced. I went home immediately and aired up both tires with no problems/issues. As a decorated Air Force veteran and true patriot, I am not surprised at all that some ignorant business owners judge you immediately by your outward appearance as soon as you walk into their business. Went to get a new tube replacement for my tire. went to the store and had it done and when I got home I noticed it was put on incorrectly. Wasn't a big deal until on the way back to get it done correctly the tube popped. After the tube popped my tire was messed up. When I got there they said I would need a new tire. I Asked for a discount on the new tire but they wouldn't do it. This was Waste of time and money. We were in the market for a mountain bike so we headed over there on a Sunday afternoon, near to close time. The service was fantastic. They were so willing to try out different bikes and find our fit. They even encouraged us to ride away in the parking lot to get a feel. When we decided to buy, they told us their deals. Great place to shop for bike. I recently started thinking of cycling so and went to 3 different bike shops and finally settled down here. Jason was awesome for explaining the different types of bikes and provided the best suited one for my need. Brad was quick to provide a back-up for anything Jason can't answer. That said I've ordered my bike but unfortunately it was 3 weeks in back-order. Jason and Brad were great at communicating the timelines with me. The bike actually came in within a week and that was awesome too. Steven assembled my bike and got it ready upon my arrival the next day, great job! I was able to start cycling that afternoon. When I decided to get back into riding earlier this year, I had first gone to performance bicycles and was pretty much ignored. I had to walk up to someone to ask my questions to try and learn about things in order to make an educated purchase decision. The person was annoyed with my questions and eventually just walked away as soon as a second rep came who was equally as unhelpful. I left and went to this Rideaway location. I ended up speaking with Nick, and he made me feel welcome and at home. He was enthusiastic about biking and explained everything and more. Because of this, this shop earned my business and loyalty. Since that time, I've purchased two starter bikes, traded mine in for a full suspension, and now I'm buying another full suspension bike (and possibly one more for my wife again). I buy all my gear here, I even come to the shop just to hang out for a bit when I'm passing by. The crew here is outstanding, always helpful always knowledgeable. I also had the pleasure of meeting the owner of the shops recently which was nice. He was also an enthusiast...very helpful and took plenty of time to make sure I was good. So in my experience...this shop can't be beat in terms of service and making sure you're taken care of. To me this is the place to go! Awesome and friendly service with a wide variety of bikes and accessories! I recently got into biking and have steadily gotten more and more into the sport this past year. My first experience with this company was a little over a year ago when I was first looking for a bike. Since I was starting out I wanted to get a good bike but I didn't want to spend an arm and a leg. I first went to bike world. If you have ever been to bike world you know "cheap" is not a word used in that store. I was told by the rep there that unless I plan to spend at least $500 to go ahead and leave and come back when I have more money...Yikes! Great bikes in that place...but I wasn't ready to spend that kind of cheddar. So I went down the street to ride away bikes. I was greeted at the door and immediately felt that my business was genuinely appreciated. When you walk in on the left there are A LOT of bikes! They range for $400 to probably around $6000. Pricing was pretty much close to bike world, but its the service I received there that I appreciated much more. Being new to the world of biking I had a ton of questions. The manager there Johnny Watson was very professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. He answered all of my questions and gave me great advice. He ended up recommending since I wasn't sure just how into biking I would be, to start off with something cheap like from academy or something. So that's what I did. About a year later, close to present day today, I visited the store again. The bike I had purchased from sports authority had been beat to hell and I needed a fix. The warranty I purchased from them(sports authority) was an absolute waste of money, because when I took the bike in, they said it would be at least 3 weeks before I could have it back! It needed a lot of work. New gears, new chain, new front hub, wheels turned...I am very rough on my bike. Took it to good ol' Johnny and was in and out in 2 hours!! For a price under $100. If you know bikes, you know that's pretty darn cheap. He made other great recommendations that have really improved my riding experience. All in all this is the place to go for anything involving bikes. You can tell these guys truly are passionate about bikes and helping fellow bikers! Check it out!!! read more

My husband and I stopped by this store to fix a last minute flat tire on one of our bicycles. When we walked into the store, Steve was helping another customer. He was so patient and answered all the questions. He encouraged the customer on keep on trying. After the customer left, Steve fixed our bike and went to the extend and did a quick overall check on the bike, tighten the screws, etc. He treated us so kind - we certainly would return. Walked in trying to get my broken brake level fixed before they closed on a Friday night. I was lucky because they had a comparable break level available. The Tech reassured me he would be able to replace the level. As the Tech was working on my bike he discovered that a spoke was missing and another was bent. If you know bikes, this simple task is time consuming but he also got that fixed. Ruben was the Tech working on my bike (turns out he's the store owner), made sure all components were in good working order. What great dedication to service, I'll definitely be supporting this local bike shop more often. read more

went in today to see if they could put some spokes on my rims. had three missing on one and four on the other, the guy said "yes their $2 each" so i told him alright i'm gonna go get my bike and come back. when i get back after loading my bike back at home in this heat... he takes it to a manager. comes back to ask me if i wanna change ALL of them, i just wanted the ones missing. he tells me "no we have to change all of them" "$50 for labor and each spoke is $2 each" so i ask if he can just sell me the spokes because i can do it myself. he proceeded to tell me no that they can't just sell me the spokes "for safety reasons" so with this conversation alone you can tell how they are. just wanna take in more money from people. read more

Bought a bike there in Sept last year. Bike is fine. Took it in for 30 day adjustment and should have gotten a clue when I was just a bother to them. My wife went there in December to buy a bike light. Of course they sold her the most expensive light in the store. After Christmas, she was going to return it. She delayed a little bit, so I decided to return it for her. It was 45 days from date of purchase. They would not refund the purchase. I said my wife was ready to purchase a bike soon and could they offer a store credit on the bike? They said no. I clarified that they were willing to lose not only my lifetime business, but also my wife's. They could care less. So, I highly suggest going somewhere else. This place is what i call a complete bike boutique where they carry awesome brands like SantaCruz, Scott, Giant, Salsa, Juliana, etc. Their service is fast and good, ive had my back bike in a couple of hours after dropping her of for a fine tune. Brad is your MB guy, he knows pretty much everything related to setting up and modifying your mountain bike. We are really spoiled with good bike shops in town and Ride Away is one of them. One thing to remember is to try to avoid rush hour since traffic gets very bad around that area. read more

In-store they were very helpful, even giving us water bottles and goo packets to go with the bikes, repair sacks and helmets. The rentals were in good shape and affordable. I went into the bike shop looking to buy a new road bike, there were two employees in the shop, one was working on a bike and the other was behind the sales counter. I was walking around the shop looking at different bikes and not once was I asked if I needed help, I would say I was in there for about 10 minutes. One thing I must admit is that it was my day off from work and I was doing some chores around the house so I may have not looked like the kind of person that buys a new $1000 plus road bike, however you should never judge a book by it's cover. I took my business else where and purchased a new road bike at a different shop. I've only been in this shop once so I don't know if this is the kind of service they always provide, however I will not be back to find out. read more
