These guys are top notch. I was looking at new Terra trike, took it home for a week to try. When I returned someone had just traded in fully loaded 5 year old model completely loaded which I opted for. They kept it for a few days (they said a week, but finished early) to completely retune and replace some bearings at no extra cost. If you are looking for a recumbent trike give these guys a look before you purchase. Give yourself some time because they really tailor your purchase to your needs like buying a custom suit. Dragged my bike out after 5-6 years on a training stand in the basement (knee surgeries, then PT to loosen up.) Somehow I had messed up the brakes, and it had been, well, years since it had really been ridden or looked at. Brought it here, figuring it would be expensive and there'd be a wait since it is spring and everyone wants a tuneup. They looked it over, told me it wasn't as bad as I had thought, and got it back to me the next day with a tuneup, cleaning, and new cable. Reasonably priced ($90 for the tuneup.) So this happened today.... Episode: bicycle shop I decided to take my bicycle to be serviced at the local bicycle shop. I arrived, and two individuals happened to be white men before me; this detail is essential, so stay with me. I patiently waited as the counter clerk took their time to answer every question and fulfill every need of theirs. Previously I observed the clerk asking the gentleman he was serving, "How can I help you?"I was next in line, and it was evident. So evident that Stevie Wonder would have known I was next. However, the counter-clerk said, "MAY I PLEASE HELP WHOEVER IS NEXT..." (two white males had come in after me). I step to the counter and tell him I want my bike serviced. Suddenly, he was in a rush, and he said, "Ummm, yes, can I ask you to give me your number so that I can call you in a few minutes with an estimate?" "id like to take care of the other customers..." I had to pick up groceries from curbside, and the window of time I had to do so was nigh. By the time I got my bike back into the car, I'd have missed the grocery pickup order. The folks at Bicycle One have always been a great resource for me as a biker, and they do great work, but recently I had an experience that compelled me hop on and write this positive review. I bought a bike (not from them) several years ago, rode the heck out of it, and finally a few days ago, cracked the frame. I was crestfallen, as I rode this bike every day. I brought it into Bicycle One, where Troy diagnosed it and gave me the bad news, but immediately lifted my spirits by working through a few scenarios to help me get back out riding. Ultimately, he ended up working with the manufacturer to have a brand new bike shipped to the store within a week, and at virtually no cost to me. You can get bikes and accessories all over the place these days, but I have yet to find a place that has the knowledge of the products and industry that Troy and his family does, and that's why I'll always go to Bicycle One for any of my biking needs. read more

A great asset is you can get a free major tune up from Bicycle One for three years if you buy one of their bikes. That includes: adjusting brakes and gears, adjusting bearing preloads, true wheels, inflating tires, lubing the cables and drivetrain, and tightening all other components. AMAZING SERVICE After trying to change a flat tire on a decade-old Huffy Mountain 10 Speed, I called to see if Bicycle One could reattach the rear wheel, after I had successfully replaced the tube and tread. I went without an appointment, and Mitch took my bike back immediately. He put it on the stand and had it back on in minutes, but first he checked the tube and tread replacement. Nick discovered there was a piece of hardware missing from the gear exchange. They searched for one and then put it on. Mitch also gave my gear shift and brakes a good going over, tightening this and loosening that. In addition, the staff carried my bike inside and returned it to my trunk. I have to admit the bike is a busted up, old piece of sh**, but Mitch and Nick treated it as well as one they might have sold to me. There was no attempt to sell me a new bike or even replacement parts for the old. I appreciate that very much. This place did a great job of tuning up my bike. And to top it off they were running a special so it was an awesome value as well. The staff is attentive, genuine and extremely nice. That was for service at the beginning of the year. Just went in last weekend and there was a team member that was nice enough to open the door for us on the way in and out with our bikes. They quickly were able to install the seat on my gf's bike and quickly fix a minor issue on mine as well. My gf and I thought we'd have to leave them, but we were in and out of the shop in 20 minutes. What great customer service!!! Not only did I not have an appointment, the staff realized that the thorn resistant tube should not have failed in less than a year. As a result they replaced and charged me a standard tube price. Been there two times in trying to get advice on a new FS mtn bike that I want to buy, they carry or can order the Trek or Cannondale. But each time it seems like I am a bother to the salespeople there - maybe it's just the nature of this bike store where the employees are socially awkward or they're just having a bad day. With so many other good LBS around town and on-line competition you'll think when I want to spend $2,500 they would least help me a little more. Once I did call to ask about a bike, it sounded like the owner/older man and he won't answer my question and told me to call back when they're open...really? Why bother to answer the phone then. I've been riding for a few years, and I had no idea this shop was here! Bike One agreed to send a rep and some display gear to my workplace as part of our efforts to promote Pelotonia in our workplace. I was considering buying a tri bike, so I stopped in to check one out. It wasn't the one I really wanted (I bought a different model at Tri Tech), but I was very pleased and impressed with the friendliness and expertise of the Bike One staff. Eric has been coming to our Pelotonia "brown bag lunches" at work, which has been great. Dante (the maintenance manager) helped me when I visited the shop last weekend, and got me set-up with new shoes, pedals, and some other accessories. Good advice and a down-to-earth setting (cycling can get a little gear-snooty). This is not a super-chic shop, it is not a hipster bike store, and it is not a place where only super-elite riders are accepted. This is a friendly Mom & Pop shop. I felt very welcome. I hung out in the maintenance area while they put my fit-settings on a bike for to test ride. Prices here are very reasonable, particularly if you are a Pelotonia rider (if you are not, you should be!). Prices aren't bad, but they will give you an additional 10% off bikes, 25% off apparel (including shoes) and 20% off accessories, if you're a Pelotonia rider. This shop isn't near my home, but I really liked visiting. Next time in the area to visit Mezzo (a restaurant neighbor in the Creekside area), I will definitely stop in. read more

This place is fantastic. My wife and I stopped by earlier today wanting to pick up some bikes. We haven't rode in a very long time and were hoping to use cycling to get some much needed exercise. I came here and told the owner Troy that this was indeed my first rodeo. I told him my price range and what i thought would be my needs for a bike. The Bicycle One tech was knowledgeable, personable, and helped me find the perfect bike. They had sales on everything which made their prices awesome. I got myself and my boyfriend sweet bikes at Uncle Sam's Pawn Shop, and since they'd been in a pawn shop basement for a few months I decided they should definitely get tuned up. I called around to a bunch of places during the busiest time of the year for bike tune-ups. I had been leaning toward Handy Bikes, but I read reviews that they weren't pros. Then, I called B-1 downtown, but they were totally backed up. then I called Bicycle one and the guy on the phone was great. He quoted me accuarte prices and gave me a 3 day turn-around time. It was a-go! We went over to the shop at Creekside and the people there helped us get the bikes in and took a thorough look at them. They honestly didn't want to over-work the bikes if they didn't need it. How nice! They had everything we needed and you don't pay until you pick up. They gave us some options of possible repairs that might be needed after inspection and said they'd call before they did any work that wasn't quoted. Anyway, we picked up the bikes a day late because of rain and they stored them there for us, no problem! We picked them up and they looked great, way cleaner than when they came in and working perfectly. What more can you ask for? They offer off season specials, so check the website for that stuff. They also sell new bikes and bike gear. I didn't get any of that stuff though. I will be bringing my bikes back there again for the next tune-up, but they said we should be good to go for quite awhile. So, who knows when I'll have to go back. read more
