No fault at all to them for that because that was the situation at every bar we went to. Service was friendly, the shot was nice and strong, and it was a nice little spot. Beyond drinking, there isn't really much going on in the bar in terms of activities, but there were TVs. So, watching sports here is definitely an option. I'd definitely say that this spot is worth popping in if you are enjoying a night on the town, but that it probably shouldn't be the only spot you go to.

this may look like a "fun underground bar" but it is really anything but. this bar is the definition of what is wrong with Boston. this sad, ugly, old, lonely, bouncer doesn't know how to do his job and ends up running this place into the ground. as a Boston native, this bar has single handily made me move to NEW YORK CITY - and I am no longer a Red Sox fan. this city smells like dirt, and lets be honest; it is a want to be New York. all Bostonians are lying to themselves if they believe this bar is any good and I think we should all do ourselves a favor and never enter this shithole again! we were here on 12/28 by the way- fire that fucker. Amazing. The most effective dive there's, as someone said, an upscale dive. The feeling there's magic, staff is really fine, you feel like in another, friendlier planet. Affordable, affordable beverages. Good people. Not overly packed. It's possible for you to take a seat and you'll be able to shoot the breeze. You can even meet some arbitrary fascinating characters. I did not attempt the food, but my friends raved. My favourite spot in Boston now. WARNING: One terrible thing about it though, it's closed on Saturdays. I think for most folks (who reside here) it's obvious that bars in that region are closed on the weekends, not for me (I 'm a pretty new addition to this city) - once I went there on Saturday and had to leave, disappointed. read more

Boston is DEFINITELY the city that sleeps because this bar was lame as hell. The bouncer with the long beard and scowl on his face took my real ID and screamed in my face when I asked for it back. I mean it when I say i have never been so disrespected as a customer and a lifelong Bostonian in my life. This city has gone to crap and SO HAVE THE RED SOX. Drinks were watered down and overpriced. only creepy, dirty old men hung around the bar and they felt the atmosphere was an invitation to prowl on young women. Boom goes the dynamite! Found my new joint near work. First and foremost I came across Biddy Early's by way of the Tam. Needless to say I was far from sober. I had been tossing a dozen back after leaving work due to the snow storm that never did. But what a place! It is a beatdown little bar with CHEAP, two dollars cheap, beer downtown. Amazing! Most places would not have served me, or my old co-worker who ended up playing tongue hockey some random there and ended up sealing the deal. Not bad Biddy's, not bad at all. read more

Awesome awesome awesome. The area obviously sucks because its a ghost town at night. Regardless, this little dive bar is great. $1.50 for a PBR draft, $6 for pitchers. Cheap food, cheap good food. Seems like the place that never gets over crowded, but always has a good drunk crowd. You can walk in and get a table, grab a bunch of pitchers, and get drunk with your friends and leave with your wallet still in tact, even if you do get drunk enough to buy too many shots for people. read more

An upscale dive :) buckets of beer at $15 for 5 bottles, Juke box, adequate food at lunch and dinner (they say they've food all night nevertheless they usually shut the kitchen and will not reopen) Pub staff is pleasant, I hear they reside upstairs. If you're looking for a chill bar to just go and hang out with a couple of friends, you don't have to look further! The beer, food, and atmosphere is pretty awesome and they are on the cheap side. It's definitely a sweet spot to just go and relax with a beer in your hand. They also have darts there if you're bored. read more

All I wanted from my Boston trip was a night out at a legit pub. I got everything I wanted and more from this bar. The staff was amazing, the drinks were cheap and delicious, the regulars were so friendly and held good conversation. I strongly recommend this bar and I will return the next time I go. read more

In advance, I stopped into the hotel to confirm that a gluten-free guest could be accommodated and was assured this would be handled. In reality, the accommodation was inadequate and, at times, unacceptable. While the rest of us were served scones, my stepdaughter was given cut fruit in their place, and told that was all they had to accommodate.The dessert course consisted of what appeared to be basic gluten-free cookies, misrepresented as something more gourmet - egg nog cookies??? This lack of preparation was both disappointing, upsetting and avoidable. The broader experience was equally concerning. We were subjected to an unsolicited and uncomfortable "lesson" on tea service, which detracted from what should have been a relaxed and celebratory occasion. While trying to enjoy the time with the girls, being a lifelong tea drinker and someone who has been to many times at your establishment and its various incarnations, this is something I have never experienced. The food quality was poor (scones were clearly reheated and stuck to the cloth napkin they were wrapped in), and there were notable service lapses, including being served water in a visibly shattered glass. Additionally, when hot water was added to refresh the tea, my stepdaughter's pot curdled and had to be replaced. It was especially disappointing, as I mentioned that I had stopped in and spoken with the concierge, and was assured, as they had called the kitchen while I stood there that they readily accommodated gluten-free. There are numerous places in the city that could have done this, and if you had just told me that you could not do so, I would have booked us elsewhere. I chose not to raise the multiple issues in the moment so as not to disrupt what was meant to be a special day for the girls and me. However, the total cost exceeded $500, and the experience did not come close to justifying that price point! Do not recommend.
