Other than that, it's a great dive bar, one of the best of a dying breed. Used to have a burger and beer for $5, probably a little more now. I'm exaggerating, it's not even close to being so dirty that you wouldn't want to eat there, I actually don't remember it being dirty at all, but it is a seedy, wrinkled old dung hole that is thankfully managing to keep one step ahead of the rapidly gentrifying financial district. It's a dive bar, plain and simple. If that's your thing, you'll love this place! It's a hidden gem in what can be an otherwise stuffy part of the city. They have beer, music, an interesting crowd. We came here last night for a pregame after our pregame for a concert. The place seemed to be getting quite the crowd for the Bruins game. They had a nice draft selection from what I can remember, lots of local stuff. My only qualm was the dirty bathroom. I'm an adult so I toughed it out, but it could've used a little love. I LOVE my dirty, 10-year old Adidas sneaks. They're worn out, abused, and wrinkly like my ball sack (which BTW I discovered last night that Laura K. is a self-proclaimed expert on), but they have a special place in my heart and will always be part of my shoe entourage. And Biddy Early's is now my new favorite dirty dive ball sac.... er... dive bar. This place is AWESOME. I can't believe I used to work in the building right across this bar, and would even frequent the food places next door, but never even noticed this place. Thank God for Yelp, 'Dive Bar Experience' events, and Hemanth, or I would never have known about this place. Awesome bartenders, including a very easy-on-the-eyes Lara (or Laura?) from the South 'Shoa', decent selection of tequila, beer, tequila, sodas, and tequila. The best part? When I ordered rounds and rounds of tequila shots for everyone (other than Kat, for whom I ordered a shot of PBR) and asked for the tab, expecting yet another month of painful booze financing via our friends @ 29%-fook-the-customer-Mastercard, I heard "that will be $2...." ok ok... maybe not $2, but Oh-Em-Gee it was less than $20, PLUS the tip......... I'm the last person ever to write a review for Biddy's. But whatevs, here we go. I have gotten to really love Biddy's. Granted, I'm wasted every time I go there, so this might be a bit biased. But $1.50 PBRs? Yes please. 5 shots for $20? Yes please. Darts? Yes please. Jukebox with music being played not too loudly? Yes please. Cute bartenders? Hell yes. Sketchy one-person bathrooms? Could probably skip. (I've now used the men's bathroom twice). The diversity of the crowd is awesome. Sitting at the bar, I have a townie on my left whose brother is coming later on to celebrate his 21st bithday. On my right, I have a super preppy guy with longish hair in a North Face coat. Farther down the bar I see a very attractive guy who looks like he works in construction. Behind me, there's 10 Yelpers singing and dancing. And of course, there's always the awesome older Spanish guy, whose name I think is Hermando, dancing in place and asking pretty girls if they have boyfriends. I had an awesome conversation with Hermando last night, as I shared with him my limited Spanish vocabulary (that all involve cursing, sex or insults). He then decided I knew Spanish so we had a 10 minute convo in Spanish (him talking, me nodding). What he was saying, I have no idea. But I do know that he's awesome. Last night, Yelpers stormed Biddy's after the elite event at Petit Robert, and the bartenders handled it with ease. Dropped, broken glasses? One of the brothers was there in 30 seconds to clean up the party foul. A certain person getting hit in the foot by a dart and bleeding profusely? The staff didn't even blink an eye. Also, their onion rings are delicious. Update: apparently hermano means brother in Spanish. So most likely that is not the Spanish guy's name. Absolutely loved this place and part of the reason I loved Boston so much. The bartenders were beyond awesome and personable. We were tourist with no clue where to go, and The bartender, Jeff was beyond helpful. He had no reason to help us, but he went over and beyond what he needed to do. Do you sometimes wonder why the City of Boston is only somewhat decent? Well, if you really want to know why, this place is one of the many possible reasons. I went to this small Irish-influenced bar located in the heart of Downtown Boston, and encountered a somewhat interesting group of characters that somehow know me. The bar has this gritty look with a lot of noise, and it can get really crowded in the evening. However, I actually liked it for a little bit. As for food, I got a Biddy Early's Burger, cooked medium rare, with Swiss cheese. It had lettuce tomato, and onion, and the bartenders were nice enough to provide a good amount of ketchup for the French fries and the burger. They were offering this special that they provide a draft beer with your burger for about $8.95. Unfortunately, the beer they provide is a Pabst Blue Ribbon, which is not a great beer. The hamburger meat had a nice and juicy flavor, the vegetables were fairly fresh, the cheese was enjoyable, and the bread was nice and chewy. This made it a really tasty and great hamburger, and they got the job done well. The french fries were just okay, they had a nice crispiness on the outside, and could use a tiny bit more salt. The appetizers here are somewhat decent. I ate some of the Nachos here, and I liked that they put a decent amount of ground beef, but needed some more cheese. They were definitely not the tastiest nachos I have eaten, but not a bad choice for a generous snack. I also had the Chips and Salsa, and it's not a bad choice for a small snack with your beer. The they also provide French fries as an appetizer which are the exact same French fries you can get with your hamburger, but at a larger amount. The appetizers are not a bad choice, but not high on my recommendations. As for the beers, they have a somewhat decent selection that is really typical of any typical American bar. The main attraction is supposedly the Pabst Blue Ribbon beer, but they do serve Blue Moon, Sam Adams and Heineken at a somewhat higher price. The beers are somewhat refreshing, but they need to keep serving the beer really cold at a consistent rate to make them really refreshing. Bartenders are decently good and are effective in getting you something to drink as soon as possible. The good thing about this place is that the prices are actually reasonable. The dishes and appetizers are less than $10, and you can actually get a glass of Pabst Blue Ribbon beer for possibly about $2. Pabst Blue Ribbon beer is not a great beer, especially when it is not served chilled. The interior and atmosphere is fairly gritty and it is probably an example of the typical gritty American bar. They have a jukebox that plays loud music to dance to, and a dart board if you want to do some throwing. Overall, this is bar is not high on my recommendations if you are looking for an amazing beer selection or a great menu. I actually liked eating and drinking at this bar because of the prices and the location is great. Although this bar is not high on my recommendations, if you are willing to "get down and dirty" here in the somewhat decent City of Boston, this is actually a really good choice for some good old fashioned and ridiculously insane fun with your friends or if you are willing to hang out with somewhat interesting characters. read more

What can I say about this place that hasn't been said in other reviews? This place is the quintessential dive bar in Downtown Boston. Located right in the Financial District you're going to get a good mix of people here. From the blue collar union guys to the white collar "make more money than you" guys. But everyone drinks the best swill this place has to offer. $2 PBR on tap is the go to at this place. Can't get no divier than that (is that a word? Divier? It is now). The food here is great too. Burgers are always on point, the grilled chicken sandwich is always bangin, Buffalo fries are always a hit, and on Sundays you get the secret menu. PBR Sriracha wings? Yup! The guys who run this place and every bartender here is amazing. This place has become my Cheers. Everyone knows my name and I love that about this place. Biddy Early's is great. Biddy's is a nice little bar thats on Pearl Street in the financial district. Another place that you CAN NOT judge by it's cover... if you don't know what you are looking for you could end up walking right by Biddy's. Step inside on the lunchbreak rush and you will notice that the bar is pack.. with various people, like bikers to verizon union workers to businessmen. The bartender, Neimh is awsome. She is at the top of her game everyday. Never forgeting about anyone, even when the house is packed!! The food is you typical bar food. Burgers and steak tips are the best. Also you can get a cheeseburger, fries and a bud light for only $5.95.. pretty good!!! The only draw would be the seating, this place is packed from 12 to 1. I ALWAYS have an awesome time at Biddy's!!! It's divey, very reasonably priced, and well, it's just plain fun! This place has all the divey essentials including a jukebox, dart board,(real, metal tip darts) bar food menu of burgers, wraps, french fries and the like, and ice cold beverages!!! I do believe there are a couple of arcade style games near the restroom in the back as well. I personally adore the $2 PBR pints, and a friend or two on any given night. Went into this place on a whim. If you like a dive bar feel and feeling like a local even if you aren't....this is the place to go. I've been a few times and have felt so welcomed here! The staff is so friendly, from the bartenders to the security. They make it work with Covid and there is never too long of a wait. Went drinking with a co-worker and a former co-worker. We wanted someplace dive-ey. We wanted some place where we could buy buckets of beer and make questionable choices. We wanted Biddy Early's! Caveat: I don't remember the end of the night, but from what I was told, it was awesome! My friend got hit in the leg with a dart, I was sponsoring only the best of 80's and Indie British rock on the Jukebox all night, I couldn't figure out how to unlock my phone and former-coworker had to get me an Uber home, we all made promises the next day that we would never drink that much again... Great times all around! I had originally expressed doubts that a bar on High St. that accepted credit cards could actually be a "dive bar" but boy was I wrong! With a feeling of dread the next morning, I pulled up my credit card bill -- only $43 for a never-ending full night's supply of booze!? Excellent. This might be one of the most conflicting reviews of a bar in Boston that you'll read when checking out all of their reviews. For a dive bar, this is a 5-star bar. For any other form of bar, this is down to a 2-star. But you also need to know what you're in for before you go. If you're going for the dive-bar scene, this is the place for you. If you're wandering around and looking for a good late night option, you may want to find a different place. They do have plenty of TV's, jukebox, golden tee, keno, food, cheap beer, etc. The beers are $2 which is always a great deal and truthfully something that you won't find in downtown Boston near the financial district. I needed something to eat and grabbed the chicken fingers for $9 which came with plenty of french fries and 4 decent sizes chicken tenders. They have a few other options for food, but I wanted something quick, and luckily quick it came. The chicken tenders were really good and the fries were cooked perfectly.
