I have a 9 year old daughter that needed to use the restroom and was denied. We were there about to buy some shoes so it's not like we weren't customers. They saw her crying because she needed to go and they didn't care. Both the employee and the store manager. The employee said there wasn't a restroom and the manager said there was but she didn't not want her using the restroom. Awful customer service. read more

I stopped by this Big 5 Sporting Goods store to pick up a pair of sandals. The store was clean and everything seemed to be organized well. I was greeted at the door but after that the staff seemed to all disappear. I was trying to find someone to ask where they had Adidas brand sandals but couldn't find anyone. I eventually found them after roaming around a bit. When I got to the register nobody was there. After about 30 seconds a staff member saw me then came to check me out. The prices of the sandals were a bit higher than what I have found elsewhere but I didn't have time to go elsewhrre. If they are going to charge above average prices they should back it up with above average service. Overall, this did not feel like a good shopping experience for me. If I was a local I probably wouldn't go back to this location. read more

TAKE YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE! The lady that is manager here is a total nightmare. Went to purchase ammo, and she declined to sell it to me. I asked why, and she couldn't give me a reasonable explanation. This is after she had an attitude already from our very first interaction. If you don't want to help or interact with people, Big 5 is not the job for you. Went to another Big 5 right after, and I had no problem purchasing the ammo. Recently this Big 5 service is going downhill. With 3 transactions with problems and long waits, makes this place a hassle to do business anymore. First was requesting to make one purchase at one register (shoes & ammo). Second was buying ammo and the card reader said "timed out". So I was asked to run the card again which created a duplicate charge because the first did process (had to file a claim to reverse). Third and final blunder was to purchase ammo again but the DROS paperwork had the wrong phone#. I declined to sign because manager could not "fix" and he said it didn't really matter if the Ph# was incorrect. Sorry, not going to sign a form that's inaccurate. So no sale and I can't benefit on the sale price...coupon expires today. So many hassles. Frustrated. read more

Always have been a fan of Big Five. Great spot for family sports, and still has great sales. Staff is courteous and informative.

Manager is doing a great job running the store. We shop here often. During the shut down for COVID 19 we needed to return a broken item that we purchased. The manager did a great job explaining that she couldn't help at the moment but as soon as they were accepting returns we could bring ours in. She kept her word and gave a full refund once things settled down. read more

I purchased a sun shade that was on sale for $59.99, not very expensive but still with tax it was over $60.00. The first day that I used the sun shade it fell apart with a slight gust of wind. I returned to the store for a replacement but they would not take it back due to wind damage. After that I called corporate and they said the same thing. I argued that it was an outdoor item that it would be exposed to the elements but they would not budge. Beware of their sale items, they are garbage and try to get rid of them advertising them as fantastic sales. Anywhere else they would have exchanged it. Great store and prices. I signed up online and get coupons with amazing deals and this location has it in stock and staff will allow you to use more than one coupon. I recommend this location as they have plenty of parking and nicely kept. read more

So I go there at 8:10pm, money in hand to buy a shotgun for $400. The "manager" proceeds to tell me that he doesn't want to write up the purchase this late (they close at 9pm). It's easier to do it tomorrow he says. I asked how long it would take to write up the sale and he says 15-20 mins. So, you just are too lazy to write up the paperwork and make a sale for the store? Pathetic. No wonder no one ever goes to this store. My guess is that they will be out of business in 60 days. The manager should be excited to make a $400 sale at the end of the day. Instead, the lazy clown pushes me off to tomorrow's manager. I'll be going to the Rancho Big 5 to make this purchase. This location will never get another dime from me. Came in looking for waterproof boots yesterday and was completely ignored by staff. They just stood around talking to each other instead of asking me if I needed any help. I found 3 different locations of waterproof boots / rubber boots / snow boots on my own. This store is huge like most Big 5's and I could have saved a lot of time if someone with some customer service ethic would have helped me. This is a new location and a welcome sight to our community but I think I'll drive a few miles further to the Big 5 on Magnolia for the same products and prices, but with excellent customer service. read more

I really like the new store they got because it's right next to the movie theater at the Jurupa Valley Spectrum and really close to where I live down the street on limonite in Eastvale'. Inside the store it's really nice and clean and the merchandise itself is really quite top notch and there is a decent amount of variety. All of the people that work there are really nice and helpful it just seems that there are not enough salespeople. It took a while for me to get my question answered about seeing if the reels on the fishing pole need to switch it to the right or left because I'm left-handed and they were all right-handed. Either way it's a great store and I'll be coming back here for many of my sporting needs. So glad to have you nearby!!!! read more
