I don't even know where to begin when it comes to this store. Firstly, the layout is always clean. It's always nice to walk into a store and easily identify what I'm in search of. I'm a regular there, so I've interacted with most of everyone at that location. I'd like to give a big thank you to Matthew and Jayden. Natalie as well. If customer service and product knowledge had a degree, they would all be metaphysical doctors in that realm. I've been to other locations that give united colors of Benetton energy, and thats cool and all, but generally when I come to 5.11 I'm on a mission for a particular item or nothing in particular at all. I just want to spend money and have someone not talk me out of it. 5.11 Riverside is that full send it button. It was my first time in the store and Tim was a big help, answering all the questions I had and making really good suggestions for additional gear I could purchase. I needed a good pair of boots, and Tim was patient while I tried on like a hundred different pairs to find the right ones. Boyfriend was in search for EMT boots and came across 5.11 upon his search. We wanted to try some boots on before purchasing just because of sizing. You know how that goes. Waze brought us to no where. Google map brought up to a shopping center facing towards the freeway and with the building parallel to it. Very awkward set up California! Very. Couldn't tell if the parking lot went one way or the other because of how the entrance veered incoming traffic one way and out the other. But based upon straight parking, it goes both ways?? I don't know. Anyways. We were greeted immediately and found what we needed. This store has a lot of merchandise for your combat needs from running up a mountain, jumping over fences, something to carry your tactical needs, and stat enhancing boots. Donato was very friendly and helped us find the correct sizing for my bf's feet. Now he can safely save people's lives with +10 speed, +10 confident, +2 defense boots. read more

So 5.11 Tactical says on its website that any item purchased online on their website can be returned at any of their actual stores. Not true. Stopped by this location to return items and immediately the employee started telling me that some items couldn't be returned at the store because they don't carry them in their store. And then she informs me that they'll only give me store credit because of COVID-19. I asked her if she could show me that store policy and she said she couldn't. Nothing on the 5.11 website has this information. How hard would it be to update the website. I own tons of 5.11 items. I think I'm done. Tons of better companies out there. So I called 5.11 customer service and the rep by the name of Mya said, oh I don't know why they told you that you couldn't return items there. They're wrong. She asked me to go inside so she could talk to the employee. The employee grabs my phone and puts it up to her ear! REALLY! I thought we were in a pandemic. So Mya speaks to employee and now says she's right. We don't want to have employees transferring money to customers. But your employee just touched my phone and placed it to her ear. So I asked Mya why any of this information hasn't been posted on their website or store fronts and she said they would use this as a training tool and take it into consideration. Right! read more

Love the store. Wonderful selection of casual, professional, and tactical ready clothing. And of course since these areas tend to blend with each other a lot, their selections do as well. Tons of tactical gear for the military or law enforcement community, or even fire, EMS, search and rescue, etc. Not going to call it a warehouse, but they've got a good selection there in the store. My only complaint is price. I'm a pretty frugal guy in most areas (come on, a guy has to have his vices!) So when I see a pair of casual/tactical pants for north of $100, I calmly fold them back up, make sure I didn't leave any prints, and walk away. Some of the urban tactical backpacks were $200 and up. I just don't understand that. Maybe I'm being unrealistic. Or maybe there's too much advertising cost rolled in there. Anyway, it's a great place to go to figure out what you like, then go find something similar for half the price and order it online. That's my two cents. read more

Your salesman said that nothing was on sale except for the stuff outside under the tent, I found this strange for it being Memorial Day weekend, also Im a disabled combat Veteran. This place blows. Needed to order new style uniforms for work, along with the other 3200 employees who work at same place. Went to the usual uniform store who was out of them and told me they were back ordered 8 weeks plus but I could go to 5.11 direct and they had them or could get them in 5 days. So I show up here. They only had the shirts. Pants back ordered 20 days "if warehouse doesn't send em to another store. We don't guarantee that." Plus no LE discount like the other uniform store. 5.11 even admitted they had all the other 5.11 stores send their stock of tan and green uniforms to the Riverside store. I guess it was an opportunity for price gouging the employees. $86.99 per shirt and the balance on the two pants being shipped to the store is another $189.20. I was told by the other uniform store that 5.11 has a 25% off sale every May 11th. Their gimmick sale on 5/11. I won't be returning. I feel ripped off enough. PS....the customer service at 5.11 was subpar. Three employees in the place and no one assisted in searching for items and it took two of them to figure out how to order the pants. If you need REAL "tactical" gear, don't go here. If you're a hipster going for the Tacticool look, and have money to burn, this is your place. First of all, it wasn't too long ago that the 5.11 brand meant cheap junk that might get a rookie by for a few months until you could save up to buy Safariland or Bianchi. Their quality has gotten somewhat better, but apparently somebody in marketing decided raising prices to Safariland levels would magically raise the quality. That is not the way it happens. As for the "tactical" clothing, um, no. While most of it the quality is good, the prices are crazy high for ITS INTENDED PURPOSE. Do you really want to subject a $90 shirt to vomit and blood and Lord Knows What? Do you want to crawl around on concrete or hug stucco walls in that shirt? I got news for you, a $13 work shirt from Amazon will do just as well, and it won't break your heart when you toss it away after Patient Zero coughs up a lung nugget into your breast pocket. If you have a dirty job, you don't want to wear $800 worth of clothes while you're doing it. When you get through with the $90 shirt, $80 pants, $250 boots, $250 jacket, plus belt and all the other stuff you'll have on, that's not hard to do. If you shop here, that is. I can see rookies loading up their credit card on this stuff thinking this is what they need to do their job effectively. No! Spend some money on good boots, spend good money on a very good holster, and cheap out on the rest until you get a better idea of what you need. Now, if you're a wealthy hipster who needs good cargo pants for your new Iphone while you sip a latte at Starbucks while lamenting the latest crisis to face your Social Justice Warrior buddies, this place can hook you right up! Actual "tactical" gear seems to be an afterthought. Everything is 5.11 branded, of course, and averages a 20% to 50% higher price than comparable items from other manufacturers such as Condor and Voodoo Tactical. The lack of brand variety also means lack of selection and variety...who thinks anybody gets all their gear from just one manufacturer? The 5.11 marketing team, apparently. I gave it two stars because the folks working there were very nice and helpful. The prices, however, are just crazy, and there isn't much of a selection. If this place (and 5.11 corporate) take a more realistic look at their prices, and if they don't bring in other brands to give some variety to their shelves, I see this store going belly up in the next couple years. They had a small selection, so I couldn't find what I was looking for (I saw it online but this store didn't have any of the boots at all). The workers offer to help once and then kinda just disappear. One chick didn't seem to know their merchandise at all- I was able to find things faster and I had never been in there before. I'll cut right to the chase on this one. I wanted to go to this store to test their customer service I live in Irvine. With the brief research I made, I thought Riverside was the closest 5.11 Tactical store location. While down in San Diego for business, I found out that 5.11 opened up a shop less than a month ago in SD. So I started reading reviews on both shops. SD's reviews were great. Riverside's reviews were in between, with a few of them condemning the service provided. It was at that point where I decided to go to both stores - the Riverside location specifically to experience the service. I was instantly greeted with smiles and asked if I had any questions or if I was looking for any particular item. I asked them a question on maintenance for my Rush12 which one of the gals answered. After walking around the store for several minutes, a service rep by the name of Sid asked me if I had any questions. I asked him if they had any glass breakers, and that's what ended up starting a solid 15 minute conversation where I got to learn so much about knives and Sid's background. He is an incredibly sharp and respectful gentleman, with quite an extensive knowledge on knives, guns, and gear. He made me leave that store feeling a heck of a lot better than when I first came in. And for that, I dedicate this review to him. I wish him all the best on his future endeavors. On a side note: If you find that the service here is less than excellent, perhaps you should go when life isn't stressing you out to the point where you lose yourself and start disrespecting people. read more

I've never been to 5.11 until today. After looking at all of the gun T-shirts, shorts, pants and other tactical clothing items I settled on a cell phone charger. This is not a normal charger you can drop the soccer from 6 feet and it will not break. I will be coming back to the store once I buy more guns. read more

I've been buying 5.11 for years and really enjoy their products, but the employees at this store have completely turned me off of the company. I've been in here 5-6 times and have either been completely ignored (which I normally don't mind but when I'm standing there waiting to ask a question and employees are just gossiping....) or on the flip side I'm followed like I'm going to grab stuff and run out the door. There were 2 major things that ruined the brand here for me. 1. When I came in I had grabbed the bag I needed and they claimed it was miss priced and would not honor the tag price and 2. The major one for me was when I came in here to buy a pack and they had signs ALL OVER the store advertising 25% off and when i went to check out they didn't take the discount off. So I mentioned it and they informed me it was for a sale that was coming up in 2 days!! (even though the sign had no date AND they were offering it currently on their own website!!!!) Perhaps don't plaster it all over if you are not offering it?! The manager came out and was a complete bitch (because she was pissed she had to do her job or get off a chair I guess) and refused to even consider honoring the price or the discount. I'm amazed at the amount of inventory this location has. Never mind the amazing expansion of the 5.11 line. Gone are the days of pants and polos. They have everything. Backpacks, plate carriers messenger bags, pouches, trauma kits, watches, knives, the list goes on. Even a more discrete line of clothing that does not scream "contractor". And the people assisting the customers are very nice and attentive, ready with a no nonsense answer and to guide you where you need to go. It is well worth the drive :) read more

I was originally recommended 511 range bags from an out of state friend. I was looking around their website and then realized that this location existed. Since the website was going to charge me both tax and shipping anyways, I decided to head down to the store to see the stuff in person and walk out with the items immediately. Unfortunately, they didnt have one of the items in stock and the other they didnt have the color I wanted. I was bummed, but their customer service turned the tide. The staff was very accomodating considering I had my young children with me (3 & 4 year old). One of the women was playing peek-a-boo with my daughter and the other salesman asked them if they wanted to write their names on the paper display that was water resistant. Marco was extremely helpful in giving me an idea of how handy their range bags are by pulling out all of the model pistols and putting them in varying ways to show me how fitment was. He was never pushy and was just eager to help. I ended up leaving with a Benchmade EDC knife instead, which i'm very happy with. The guys were just amazing in offering feedback and showing me their own EDC knives so I could narrow down my choices. Although, my kids were driving me crazy, the staff made my shopping experience as best as it could be given the circumstances. This experience has gone a long way and I will definitely be coming back to buy more stuff or even just making the trek to order items in store just to give this specific store business. read more

I've been a fan of 5.11 Tactical gear for awhile (especially their bags), but I totally didn't even know this store was here! I pretty much stumbled on it... and was so happy that I did! It was just before Thanksgiving and they had a great sale going on. The staff is super nice and helpful with suggestions. The store is pretty big and all the stuff is comfortably laid out -- not crowded at all. To be honest, a lot of this kind of gear, I usually purchase online so that I can find the lowest prices. But you know what? When I got home, I compared the store prices to Amazon and Ebay and found that that they weren't lower than the prices found in the store. And if you catch them when there's a sale, the prices are actually lower in-store. The other advantage to shopping at the store, of course, is that you can check out all the the gear in person and make sure the clothes fit. Came in to check out some med bags for work. The employees claimed that the store sells items 10% off MSRP to influence buyers to come into the retail store instead of buying online. The bag I looked at was around $125. When I price matched with the 5.11 website, the price was exactly the same. I asked the employee why it was the same and he claimed that the price on the website was the 10% discount too... Wait, what? So the in-store claim is BS. Then I asked if they had military/law enforcement discount and they said no. I found that odd, but the employee said to me it would not make sense if they gave those discounts because the target consumer of 5.11 was military/LE. So, I walked out. I called Corporate and asked if they had military discount, and they did. I also got free shipping, and a fixed blade knife for spending over $75. All in all, I spent $95 on what would have cost me $125 ($135 with tax), got free shipping and a handy little knife. This is why retail shops are closing. Franchisees either just want to make more money from would-be uneducated consumers or just simply don't know their own policies. read more

While I am a big fan of the 5.11 gear, I do find the pricing to be a bit on the ridiculously high side for the products they carry. That being said, I have been to their sidewalk sales and have purchased when I see their online ads offering a fair price for a good product. The one thing that will bring me in to pay full price for an item is their Patch of the Month ("POTM"). Every month 5.11 offers a different "collectable" patch that you can only get if you buy X dollars in merchandise. It's a trinket, it's silly, but I kind of like the idea that I can get something that is made of unobtainium. So I've tried to get several patches from this particular store. The employees don't seem to care about the customers - including the management. This I've discovered by spending the requisite hard-earned money to get the POTM, and not receiving the POTM with my purchase, or being given a POTM from a prior month (they seem to have a bunch of unpopular leftover patches sometimes) and being told that it's the "current" POTM, even though it clearly isn't - something anyone (even a poorly trained, uncaring 5.11 employee) can find out by looking at the 5.11 website). One month, there was a patch I really wanted - a Wyatt Earp one. I made the required purchase, and was handed a past month patch. I said I wanted the current one, instead. The unfriendly guy behind the counter said they didn't have one and that I could "take it or leave it, I don't care." At that point I asked to talk to a manager to see if there was a way I could get a voucher. The employee told me no. I explained to him that I really only made the purchase to get the patch, and if they didn't have it, could I please return the items - keep in mind that I hadn't even left the counter yet. He said "whatever, dude" returned the patch to the drawer and walked away. Into the back of the store. So I called Corporate HQ. They didn't seem to care about how I was treated. They said they didn't have any patches. I told them I understood, but that wasn't really the point by that time. The point was how I was treated, and that they wouldn't refund my purchase. I was told that they couldn't refund a purchase that was just made at the store. That I would have to go back to the store. At that point the discussion became more and more circular, with the corporate HQ person not listening, and me caring less and less about ever going to 5.11 again. Returning items to this store is virtually impossible. The employees are rude, they don't seem to know much about the products or the policies of the store, and their counterparts at corporate are just as uncaring about customer service or appreciation. They seem to think they're doing you a favor by selling you the item. This is the type of business that you really don't need to bother buying from; they don't care about the customer at all. read more

Great store driven by it 100 times and didn't know it was there until I searched it online. They didn't have exactly what I wanted because it is a new hot item.
