I went to Turners today for my Glock PPT and had a great experience with Manager Nathan and Benjamin. Both of them were extremely friendly, professional, and helpful. Benjamin is truly a sales genius! He took the time to understand what I was looking for and helped me find a handgun that was a perfect fit for me. First, I've purchases guns and ammo from this store since 2009 but today will be my last day going to this Corona store. Unlike other Turner Outdoorsman stores or Sportsman stores this Corona store has the worst customer service behind the gun counters. The older ladies up front at the cashiers are friendly and could teach some of the employees social skills. As a retired Army Veteran (DV) and prior LE this guys treat you like shit and most times like you don't even exist (was a loyal customer over the years). But today is my last day spending my monies here. They could really use some customer service training. Not sure who manages them but they really need to look in the mirror and smile and greet valued customers walking into their store. I highly recommend go to Sportsman at the Crossings where they are happy to see you walk in the door or any other Turner's store like the Ontario Store where the workers value you as a person and a valued customer. I picked up my very first gun here and it couldn't have been a better experience. JOEY is the man and I couldn't have been happier with how friendly and quick his service was. I was literally there 45 minutes and was able to do my firearm safety test, get all the papers signed, and put a deposit in for the gun. I decided to pick up a m&p 2.0 compact just because I've heard great things about it and it was 200$ off. End of the day, I would gladly come back here. My brother went to turners in San Bernardino as it's closer to us but he said it took him 4 hours to get his Glock which is a little ridiculous. Serviced sucked. This is a perfect example of a poorly ran gun store. Was lied to twice by management in the gun department here that they don't hold guns after we talked on the phone and they told me to come down and get the part I needed. First they told me that this part has been reserved from another store two hours prior to my arrival. I knew this was false because one hour prior when I arrived I saw it on the shelf and confirmed with another one of the staff. Second lie was them telling me they can't hold any items for customers, but interesting enough I just got off the phone with the Lake Forest Turners location (great service by the way) and they told me they can hold items for me no problem. I'm on my way there now so do yourself a favor and don't shop at this turners. Drive the distance to Lake Forest or Ontario you won't regret it. read more

I am curious as to when Turners changed the use of their bathroom policy. I visited the Corona store a few days ago to potentially purchase a used consignment shotgun. I called before I went there and spoke with Gabriel. His customer service was outstanding. When I arrived, I had my shotgun with me to make some comparisons to the one I was considering purchasing. After I was greeted and checked in, I asked if I could use their restroom. The reply was "we do not have one". Before I could ask where they go to the restroom the follow up was "we do, but for employees only". Then I was told I could use the restroom next door in the Mexican restaurant. I'm sure they love that. My thought was that if I must go "next door" I would just keep on going. I work for a large retail outdoors outfitter and get asked frequently where the restroom is located. Many customers coming into the store often immediately ask where is the restroom. I had driven a fair distance to get to the Turners in Corona, intending to make a purchase as I have done many times over the years and was not allowed to use their restroom. Turners missed the mark on this one. If this is indeed their policy, I'll begin my boycott immediately. This is extremely poor customer service and very unfair and disrespectful towards the Mexican restaurant next door. Poor customer service. My boyfriend made an order over two weeks ago and was told he would get a call when it arrived. He never received a call. He finally called and found out that it had already arrived. He needed a background check, arrives, and they tell him he is missing all these documents. They should have called when his order arrived and advised him on what documents would be needed for a background check. He canceled the order and only got 15% out of his deposit. All of this could have been avoided with simple direction. This is lousy service nevertheless. read more

With Covid everyone is buying toilet paper, paper towels and GUNS!!!!!!! We called to make an appointment to which they do appointments for the next day. We waited a little when we got there for about 20 minutes. The customers in the front were nice and friendly the conversation passed the times My husband and I came to take the firearms written test and get some guns. Nick was helping us the whole way through the the process and his customer service was extraordinary. We were there for over two hours and he answered every question, showed us several different types of guns, ammo, and gun cases. As first time gun owners, he was very thorough and patient. An excellent teacher!!!! I highly recommend coming here. All of the employees were friendly and helpful from check in to check out. We had an outstanding experience. I learned a lot. I bought many items over the past 20 years at Turner's outdoorsman in Corona roughly up to $20k. I need to take a basic firearm safety test in order to receive a special made AR15 from another state. Turner's refused to accept the FFL transfer and also refused to let me take the test for certification in order to receive the item. Turner's insisted that I must purchase their own firearms in order to give the test. This is bad business and they just care about making more purchases without taking care of their current customers who have been loyal to buy their products over the years. The entire staff here sucks probably only person that is welcoming and polite is the person at the register. I've been to at least 7 different Turner stores and this place has the worst atmosphere. The workers are always in a mood. Their body language just says that they don't want to be there to help you out. Every rep by the glass counter has no personality they seem like it's burden just to help anyone. Salesmen behind the counter (Kenneth) made me & my friend feel extremely un safe by holding the gun (shotgun) toward our direction in a unsafe matter , while showing it to us. Now keep in mind I'm a gun owner and I've purchased a couple guns from turners they always seem pushy and they don't seem to help with any questions they want you in and out with something that will make them good commission $. Kenneth also asked me what guns I owned and I told him a rock island 1911 and he laughed and said those things are trash get a real 1911. So then I asked him if he owned and apparently not he is an internet warrior and judges guns based on internet reviews basically he wants you to leave with a more expensive gun this place is only good to buy ammo. I just had the best experience at this location. I got some professional insight on Bluefin tuna fishing from a real gentleman. Eric, lead me to the register with some new fundamentals, a fresh spool and lastly a firm handshake. This is how business should be done, everyone can learn a thing or two from Eric. I also have to mention Chris as well. He helped me pick out the perfect rod for my Dad. Some sleuthing and a couple key words from my dad and Chris new exactly what he wanted. Today we had a very bad experience at Turners Outdoors on Blackstone/ Bullard in Fresno. We wanted to share this with everyone. Our number got called by an employee named Phil, he asked what we was there for. We told him it was for a gun transfer. He rolled his eyes immediately and shook his head at us. I asked, Do you not want to service us? He told us, rudely that tranfers takes a long time to do and that he did not like to do them. He commented that was probably why they had asked him to come to the back to help out. He avoided my question and asked where our gun was. We told him it was with us. He said why we didn't check it in. We told him no one asked us to. We explained that we carried it in the store for half an hour and not once did an employee or manager in the store inform us it had to be checked in first. Mind you, this is our first time doing a gun transfer ever. Rudely, he told us there is a posting at the door!!! I said, are you expecting all Turner customers to read all postings at the door prior to coming in? Again he avoided the question and babbled to another customer how it was posted on the door and we should have seen it. Note: this part should have never been said by the employee. We went to the front to check in the gun and asked for a manager. Once the manager came you can see Phil come strolling up to the front as well. I proceeded to explain the situation and Phil rudely interrupted and replied "you know, we don't have to service you. If you don't like it you can leave"!!! Gun transfers is a hassle and a pain in my ass to do. Note: Another thing that should not have been said. We explained how poor his customer service was in front of the manager yet the tackle manager did not stop Phil from talking to us rudely. By this time, we knew Phil and the manager was in cahoots. Phil left and I told the manager, if it was any other place the employee would have been stopped or reprimanded by a manager. Yet the manager said nothing he just continued to process our check in. We never received an apology from either staff. This is the part that really ticked me off. I asked the manager once we were checked in could he assign a different employee to service us. He told us it's however the dice rolls! He cannot control who we get. They took our gun to the back of the store. After waiting for another to be serviced we were fed up and asked for our gun back and just left the store. Unfortunately no pictures of who he is but you will know once you talk to him he is very rude elderly person who seems like he doesn't even want to be there. read more

This is a little lengthy sorry. Went to purchase some firearms with my boyfriend. We already have a FSC and have purchased guns previously. (Not at this location) As we were walking up a worker comes outside (we're guessing he was the store owner) and stands in front of the door. Ask us for an ID. BEFORE WE EVEN GET INSIDE THE DAMN DOOR. He is blocking the entrance with his body so we are speaking outside of the establishment. I say for what, he goes well what are you looking for? Tyler said to look around, maybe purchase a firearm. The worker then goes, well what kind of firearm because we really don't have much. Mind you we called yesterday (June 17th, 2020 at 5:20 pm) They closed at 6pm which is why we didn't go yesterday... A female answered and informed us to come on down because there's PLENTY. I understand they COULD have sold out but I doubt it. ‍ Anyways... Tyler tells the worker well we called yesterday and they said they have a lot. The worker said, well tell me what exactly you want because I'm sure we won't have it, and even if you do you still can't buy it because you don't have a CA Real ID. Tyler says we don't live far from here I can go back and get it why can't we look around to see if I even want to purchase anything before I drive all the way back home. The worker tells us well you can't buy anything without the proper paperwork so no one will help you. I said so you're saying we can't even go inside the store? Worker says I mean you can but I'm telling you right now NO ONE is going to help you or answer any questions. (Still standing in the way of the entrance.) I then told him well we purchased another gun at another location and we were able to look and have questions answered. He moved aside and didn't say anything else... what the fuck? All of staffs were new under a new manager. They had knowledges to what they sale. Until I asked to hold and touch the merchandise, he asked to withhold my driver license. It was ever the first time being asked like that. I was shock. Asking if it was a new store wide regulation, they laughed and said " You need a driver license to buy. Right?". You should NOT need my ID until I decided buying it. I didn't see other customers doing so around me. At the end, I decided to buy it. But I would NOT buy it from your store. read more

I will start by saying I understand the "pandemic" has made every business have to run differently. Also our communist like government has made gun sales difficult which isn't their fault. However, running unorganized is on the establishment itself. I had an appointment at 3:00 pm today for a background check for a gun I purchased, I thought it was just that.. an appointment. Nowhere in my email from turners did it give me a clue it's still like dmv wait times. I got there at 2:40, thinking it was a reasonable amount of time but there was a line. One line. So, like a normal person I waited outside in the line (like a good sheep here in ca with a mask on in the heat) , about 10 mins later an employee comes out and tells me the "appointment line is on the other side of the door" ok cool. I move. Despite the fact there's no sign on the door telling anyone this, you have to hope an employee walks out and tells you. At about 3:10 I finally make it inside to be handed a number thats nearly 20 numbers away (I was 90, they were on 72). At this point I'm thinking there's some sort of mistake because i had an appointment and that's supposed to be "priority". Apparently having an appointment is kind of like a fast pass at Disneyland concept but not near as fast of a wait. By 3:30, they made it to number 75 and I had to send an email to reschedule this "appointment" which really serves absolutely no purpose since you're apparently still waiting for hours. Just for a background check. I now have to go through these shenanigans on Tuesday, but I now know to block out the entire day since an appointment isn't really an appointment, it just means you stand on the opposite side of the door to get in. The email they send making the appointment gives zero indication the appointment means nothing, and you need to block out your day to do this. Then I'll have to go through these shenanigans to pick up the gun 10 days from there. So, this is basically just keeping the working Americans from being able to purchase a gun since most of us can't take this much time off work to play their games. I'd recommend you go to bullseye on Brockton. Haven't had an issue there since this pandemic started. Weird.. I'm thinking organization on their end is how it goes smoothly there. However, if you want to buy fishing gear you can just walk right in. It's just the people buying guns (and appointments) who have crazy waits outside.
