Cmon guys get your act together, been coming here for the last 9 weeks trying to renew my hunting license and get deer tags and every time you tell me the machine is down. Well hello!! Get someone to fix it. You guys are loosing all kinds of money. My family and friends have been coming here and are being told the same thing. I recently went in to buy speedos for my water Polo conditioning. I found the speedo that would fit me best and headed straight to the fitting room. I asked a employ if he can open the fitting room so I can try the speedo on. He didn't even seem interested in helping nor did he really care how messy the fitting room was. The fitting room was a mess with clothes all over the floor, dirty floors and even pee was on the seat... Realizing how smelly and filthy the fitting room was, I politely asked the employer that the room had some hygiene issues. He just said whatever and didn't even bother to clean it nor even cared about the fitting room. I hate big 5. read more

I came here to look for a running shoes to exercise on my treadmill at home. Though I am an adult, my feet are extremely small. I wear flats in kid size 3 or 4; therefore, it is very hard for me to get the shoes that fit me nicely. I was lucky to be able to score a good deal on the last pair of kid size 4 running shoes. They also allowed me to use the $5 off $25 coupon on retailmenot. I actually tried to look up to compare the price of the shoes I bought at Big5 with the one that other online stores are selling and haven't been able to find the same deal that I got at Big5. read more

Awesome staff, I bought a wrong set of scope rings and the manager let me exchange them no questions asked. He even apologized for giving me the wrong sized rings. It's a pain to find parking if there isn't a spot on the streets, but overall the store is clean and I ususally go there just to look at their guns. Like clock work, right before the softball season starts I make my trip to Big 5. This trip was specifically for softball socks, but of course I walked out with much more than just socks. I scored on a new baseball hat, and as soon as I find out what color my daughter's team will be, I'll be back for my baseball shirt! The staff is pretty helpful and plenty of parking in the back. This Big 5 Sporting Goods store has been here ever since I can remember. It is right across Eastridge Mall on Tully Road. I love this store because it is so convenient and close to home. Every time I need sporting goods, this is the place I run to. They have it all, from basketballs, to swimming goggles, to athletic gear, to guns (well for animal hunting), they have it all. Staff is eager to help if you have any questions. What more can you ask for? They also have new sales every Sunday... whatcha waiting for? Time to get in shape for summer! read more

Very bad customer service and the staff is not knowledgeable to boot. I went in to just browse and see what's new. I had to ask multiple times for help to see the knives. The guy that ended up helping me wouldn't even try to tell me about any sales and looked like he has annoyed at me for even asking to see the knives. I found one I liked and I asked for it. The guy looked for a new one in box but he couldn't find one. He said he could just sell me the display model. I told him that it had a couple scratches and if I could get a discount on it cause of the scratch and it didn't have a box. He said "we don't do that here". The stupidest response I have ever heard from anyone working in sales. I took it anyway and the girl at the register just kept me waiting because she was chatting with the manager on wether or not she should have her lunch. Don't know if this is the standard here but this was the most unprofessional staff I've encountered. Maybe they don't realize the public is what keeps them open and gives them a paycheck. read more

Went to buy a knife (HK knife by Benchmade) and was helped out an associate/manager by the name of Michael. He helped me with all my questions and showed me all the ones I liked. I'm a knife guy so I'm picky (wanted the HK because I have a HK USP and wanted it to compliment it) and he helped me with all the choices in a cool, calm manner. Ended up not having the one on sale but gave me a deal for another. Awesome brownie points there. His help and his efficiency makes this a location a go-to for all my Big 5 needs. Also found some Pop Vinyls and bought two for my sister. I would definitely be back when there's another knife on sale. read more

I do have to give credit to the chain as a whole, though. They have good prices (when you can find the product and when the product is not all beat up.) I had gone to big five to buy a new pair of shoes and i asked the person who was in charge of the shoe department numerous of times what shoe i wanted to look at and the man gave me the NASTIEST look I've ever seen in my life. I'm so disappointed in this store!!! I went in to go some soccer stuff and I had found some shorts that were super comfortable. The entire rack including the hangers said they were on sale for $9.99, when they rung up, they were $16.99. The manager/supervisor and a worker went over to the rack and admitted they were marked, but wouldn't honor the price. What store does that!!!! I've worked in retail and first you apologize and honor the price. So I didn't end up buying them. I had also asked for help for soccer shoes and was told to go towards the back of the store and someone would help me...No one showed up!!! This store is ghetto and the workers are unprofessional!!! Not only was this Big 5 messy and cramped inside, but two workers were talking shit about "fauxhawks" at the counter. Guess who had a fauxhawk and was right next to them? My cousin, who was buying exercise gear! One of the workers talking shit shouldn't be one to talk either, he had really greasy looking hair with ugly sideburns. When they noticed my cousin standing there, they slowly turned over and continued to have their fauxhawk discussion as if he wasn't there. read more
