This place is awesome! Bowling, huge arcade, restaurant, sports bar, pool tables... paradise! I love coming here to do just about everything. Usually if I'm sitting around the house being bored, I'll head down to Big Al's to break another record in Hoop-Shoot, play some skee-ball, get a drink, play some more Hoop-Shoot, head down to the stadium seating restaurant and grab a burger while I watch TV on a 50ft screen, then maybe after my meal I'll go bowling in one of their 2 separate bowling alleys, and if I'm still bored they even have a video poker room where I can give away my paycheck. The possibilities are endless here. The place is massive and would also be a perfect place to hold a birthday party, Superbowl party, or just get together with friends and watch a game on the large TV over a few beers and some grub. If you have a family, this is also the perfect place for both parents and kids to have some fun and let loose. The staff here always seem pretty fun and friendly. It's usually a younger crew and they're pretty fast and on top of the service. I've never had a bad experience here with service, but usually I'm so damn focused on drinking and playing Hoop-Shoot I probably wouldn't even notice. This place is conveniently located right down the street from me, I love that it's so easy to come down here to play. It's also located right next to the Progress Ridge shopping center with New Seasons, Cinetopia, and a ton of other businesses if you're looking for a reason to do some shopping as well and just get outta the house for a bit. The food selection was decent (and the overall food selection is even better; we had just a limited catering set, but it was fine for us). The private bowling area for our group was right next to the room they had us in, very convenient. This place is huge, and I think when my children are over they'd love it - both the bowling and the arcade. I don't think they need to find out about it yet, however. :) read more

I live near this mega destination so I can't help but go here. Lucky me! Food wise, the pizza is a bargain as it feeds a few people for a decent price. Burgers are actually big and good - fresh toppings, big burgers, hot fries. Drinks can be sorta $pendy if you order frou frou ones but if you know the ins n outs of this place it helps. Upstairs bar is for 21 and up only (no kiddos!!) and the games (like muhfuh'ing %^#!@$× Galaga!! Yeah baaaby) in that bar are free. They also have cheap drinks up there after 9p and damn good bartenders. Occasionally, service for food is a tad slow, but with their HUGE ASS screen still visible from up there you can enjoy sports. When I saw HUGE, I mean humongous - as big as I've ever seen outside of Las Vegas. My old boss knew the hacks for getting the most out of Big A adult offerings by harnessing the drinking, gambling, family entertainment/gamer paradise. Kind of a cool place, but not the best deal. There is a bar, restaurant, bowling alley, and arcade all in one. It's a good place if you have a group mixed with 21+ and below, but then again, you can just go to a regular bowling alley, especially if the 21+ group is into drinking beer. Their food is pretty good, and the food and beverages are reasonably priced, but not great either. Still, it's good if you just wanna have fun, a little bit of something for everyone. On the weekends, however, it is definitely filled with a younger crowd, and this is even more true during the summer. Best bet is to come on a weeknight, if you can. Kind of wish after a certain time on the weekends the whole building would be 21+, the vibe would be better. Such an accommodating place! My extended family from out of town met there on a Saturday at 4pm. They were quick to put tables together for all 25 of us! There food was awesome, very large selection! We had the halibut burger and cheese steak sandwich, both were awesome. Not to mention the big selection of beer and ciders:) The best part was our waiter Brian. Big Al's is what it is...big. It's a place where adults can drink and kids can be...kids. It's a grown up version of Chucky Cheeses. However some of it does remind me of a casino where your allowed to do sports betting. We went into the restaurant area that has various amounts of games showing on the big screen and others on the little big screens. I felt like I could go up to the bar and ask if I could place a $100 bet on this underdog to beat the spread by 3.5. It just had that feeling of it. The food, well it's basically a mish mash of stuff, a little Asian, burgers, wraps and chips. We started with Chips and Salsa, that suppose to come with guac and sour cream. While I don't care for the two we never did get them even though the menu did say it came with guac and sour cream. I must say though, the portions are pretty big. Had the chicken wrap which one half is almost a meal in itself. I took my fiancee's and my other half for lunch. The waitress never did seem happy while we were there. I'm not sure why but her attitude was a little cold. The place wasn't that busy at all. So it took a while for the milk shake to arrive and the food. But they are caterring to the bowlers too. Winner! This place is awesome for groups of friends to come unwind and to have fun. They have everything from the restaurant with HUGE screens to watch sport games, tasty American food that come out in impressively big portions, bowling, a bar, and games galore. It totally reminds me of an adult version of Check E Cheeses, except now I can sip on my favorite alcoholic beverage as I play the games (which makes playing them that much more fun!) This place is perfect when you have family in town, including two teenage boys who do nothing but play on their phones and computers all day. I have been a few times, and the food is definitly nothing to write home about. Big portions and big prices. The drinks are pretty watered down, especially yummy mixed drinks. But that's not all that surprising. Bowling and arcade games seem to draw out taciturn teenagers and when you make a $10 card to the arcade the prize for bowling, they bring out their A game. We brought a baby with us, even though it was a little loud for him. The rest of us had fun bowling and eating bad food and shouting to be heard over the music and balls rolling down alleys and knocking over pins. Wow. As being a high schooler I face discrimination as not being seen as a real customer but this place could be the one to take the cake. I love to bowl, especially when it comes to spending time with family and friends. I have gone bowling with both my family and friends; but have gotten very obvious contrasting reactions. To begin with, both times I went with my "teenage" friends, we waited over 40 minutes for a waiter, after pressing the service button. The most recent time I had to wave a server down with my WALLET. When they arrived I placed an order with it coming out 30 minutes later (an hour or so after we were in the bowling lane) even though the order was a simple dessert and not complex. One of my other friends ordered a dish once I received my food 30 minutes later. Only when the ally was about to Close were we told that they weren't going to be making the food and gave my friend a "well that sucks" type of shrug after leaving me with the bill. Only reason I tipped generously was to show the staff that maybe teenagers do know how to tip. Just know if you are someone who looks like you don't have a lot of money you will have to hunt your server down to simply order. Other than that the atmosphere is the only thing that draws me back. read more

It's gonna be tough finding another sports bar of this magnitude. This place is the size of 2 supermarkets. Every direction you turn, there's a big screen TV, even when you're in line to buy food. There's even a theater-sized screen on the first floor. Looks a lot like heaven for those sports fans who are glued to the numbers and love a sensory overload. Bowling is pretty affordable. Booked a birthday party for my family and friends. Although we had to wait 20 minutes for the designated area to be ready, it was worth the wait. The staff was so incredibly nice and really went above and beyond for my family and everyone at the party. To make up for the late start, the staff went out of their way to make it up to us. Big Al's aims to please anyone looking for; family fun, kid's night out, a teen gathering, a solid bowling experience, cosmic bowling, a Wunderland-on-crack, an ordinary bar, a sports bar (with an absurdly large variety of huge screens), a clubby cosmic bowling area, karaoke- to put it lightly, it is the ULTIMATE night out. Oh right, they have an ice cream bar. Nike has held employee events here because it's perfect-with groups you can either direct your attention to one and other, or, to one of the many corners of distractions! It's not inexpensive to bowl or play games, but that's because it's a high end alley in a high end area. The drinks/food are average restaurant prices with equal taste, all in all, you get more than you expect so it's a very enjoyable! So i moved here from arizona very sad they didnt have dave and busters like they did in arizona. That was our ritual place on the weekend in tempe arizona. Well a friend said lets go to big als i was like what is that? Is it a sports store or fishing or camping store? They laughed said no its an arcade place with bowling. I got so very excited! Big Al's is a gem for a drink after work while watching a major sporting event like the NBA finals or World Cup, etc. The food is average ... mainly frozen food fried, warmed up, (whatever you want to call it and served). We have come for dinner several times and mainly underwhelmed each time, plus it's expensive for Big Al's food, So now we just come for drinks and the pizza! The pizza was actually pretty delicious, tasted like Round Table. It is cool that they have bowling and a whole arcade area upstairs. It's okay. It has pretty much everything you could ever dream of at a place to have some entertainment.... beers, big tv's, places to eat dinner, bowling, game areas where you can collect tickets. We went to have a night watching some college football, fairly overrun with high school kids on dates and little kids up stairs playing games and collecting tickets. I am not the fun police but I most likely will go somewhere else to go grab beers with my old college buddies. If you're in high school this is a good place to grab a bite and some games with freinds or date but in reality if youre older than say.... 21? We've been going here for years and the management change a year ago has been awful. They've changed everything for the worse. It's an expensive restaurant and the food is horrible. It's all frozen food from Winco. The burgers are the only decent thing and will keep you alive but $16? If it's bad, make it inexpensive... if it's good, then I'll pay for it... it's bad and expensive. The turnover with staff is awful... sucks to see people we've got to know leave because management is making it a bad place to work. Big screens are fine but that's about it. Play cards for the kids (with their meal) aren't given until we close out..? WTF? They just recently let kids go upstairs in the bar... but they can't touch anything...? Is business that bad? Kids running around in a bar is tacky. Please leave the upstairs to the adults, you've already ruined the lower restaurant with bad changes to the menu and poor service. The last time I was there (I haven't been back in a month and won't be) was after a Blazer game. We had an Uber coming and they were closing. Great, no problem... but we're standing at the front door waiting, they kicked us out (with kids) before they were suppose to close. It was January! I asked for 5 more minutes but they shoved us out the door and locked it. I can't make this up... I took pand I've spent a ton of money having team parties and events there. Fellow Yelpers ... Here's my 1st time experience to Big Al's. Initially walking in I was amazed and quite pleased with the layout... VERY well done. Today is a Thursday night and it wasn't crowded so I found seating immediately and in a great spot. I ordered food and drinks. Drinks arrived promptly and were well served. After 45 minutes, my food hadn't arrived. I asked to see my server and she admitted that she forgot to put In my order. UNACCEPTABLE. I requested she speak with the Manager and he came to my table immediately and apologized and stated he would comp the meal... Awesome Management Service and what was to be expected. Therefore because of their honesty and Integrity, I will certainly give my hard earned a chance on this establishment once again ... KUDOS to the Male Manager on this particular evening ... he should be commended!!! read more

Was quoted 1.5 hours at 8pm for bowling..fine, we get it. They were packed for spring break. We go play games etc. come back around 9:05 to check and they're not ready. Ok, we'll wait. The part that is 1 star is we waited 30 minutes and watched lanes 2-5 stay open the entire time. We ask, they say there's people ahead of us still. Ok, a little annoyed because we see open lanes. Wait another 20 mins, there now 12 TWELVE lanes open were counting, ask again and it's just the "there's people ahead of you". I get it, there's a list but if all lanes are full that's a different story. We wait about 50 mins and watched those 4 lanes stay open the entire time on top of the other 8 lanes that were now open for at least 10 mins. We've been hitting Langer's a lot more often and this solidified it. The prices way better, the service is 100x better, and it's ran SO much better! Done with this place. Stay away, it used to fun. OK... They have a huge bar with wall to wall screens so big they'll make a proper sports fan tear up, just a little. And yes, there's two floors of activities and a snack bar and a restaurant. And their wait staff will treat you real swell and bring you beers all night. I don't care about any of that, because I go to a bowling alley (wait for it...) to bowl. First of all, the place is just too loud. Maybe that's your thing, but I prefer an old school bowling experience. The lanes are oiled thick, from front to back - there's no breakpoint, no back end hook action. Might as well just grab a polyester house ball and chuck it straight. Seriously, anything past the 5 board is going for a ride to the channel. To be clear, you can get SOME hook with a reactive resin ball and high revs, but unless your ball is wearing cleats, you're going to have to drastically alter your line. It's like bowling on ice. For comparison, Park Lanes tends to be slightly on the dry side, and Sunset lanes tends to be slightly on the oily side. Big Al's is ludicrously oily. If you are reading this review, and it reads like needless nitpicking over some arcane minutiae of bowling maintenance, you're probably going to love Big Al's. That's not some kind of bowling elitist insult or anything, you're the target market. If you own your own bowling shoes; if a standing 5 pin has ever moved you to curse aloud; if you know how many steps are in your approach, and why; If you bowl because you love the game, I submit that big al's will not be to your liking for a handful of reasons. It's more like a bowling theme park than actual bowling. There's just too many distractions, and not enough attention to the details that matter to bowlers. read more
