    Vincent S.

ordered via uber eats. delivered within 45 mins... Italian hero was a great combo of meat and cheese without being overwhelmingly thick..To me a great italian hero has to include pepperoni which this does Side of mozzarella sticks were decent.. for a little lunch 8.1 out of 10.. Definitely going to try the other options

For food I ordered the Grilled Branzino, although it worded a little weird on the menu. I'm glad that I went for it. The fish was served with one skinned potato cut into two halves and mixed vegetables. The vegetables are served crunchy and bright in color. I loved that! I ordered the White Sangria and it was delicious and very refreshing. The best part of the meal was the Sangria and fresh bread. I can't wait to come back.

The food had definitely gone bad. We apologized and said we couldn't eat it. The waitress that took our table didn't apologize or suggest anything different. All she did was roll her eyes and pick up our plates and remove them. We then asked for the bill and waited 30 minutes because they kept ignoring us and denying us service. It truly felt racially targeted. I'm also Latina and this is a Hispanic place, so it was even more upsetting. They ended up charging us the entire food and when we asked about it. They said it's not their problem and that no manager was on sight. The waitress was arguing with me and raising her voice and my mother felt unsafe and worried. Essentially she said that it's our problem and we have to pay for everything. After the back and forth arguing another waitress approached us and said that they could take off the plate which is something she said they couldn't do. She just didn't want to accommodate for us. But when everyone in the table can't bear swallowing the food, it definitely was the food. So it sincerely just felt so racially profiling and simply disrespectful and rude. The waitress will not cater to you, ignore you, and the food is simply horrific. Feel free to try it but don't be suprised when it's a disappointing experience. So sad because I really was looking forward to this place with my family. I should have known when they were empty on a Saturday night.

His standards are quite high being from Jersey, but we decided to give it a try. The fries were good. Salmon and rice, just eh. But the one star is really for the poor service... We couldn't find a menu online and had to order in person. No big deal, salmon doesn't take long. After placing the order and waiting 30 minutes, we started to wonder. The place was mostly empty, only a few people sitting at one table. The woman taking orders told us they were backed up. Once she said this, the group at the table got up and went in the kitchen to cook. Turns out the whole time we were waiting, the cooking staff were chillin next to us. Our food came out a few minutes later, not nearly long enough to do a good job. Probably why the rice and salmon were lackluster. It's a shame bc we wanted a good Portuguese spot over here. It doesn't even come close to Ferry Street Barbecue in Newark. Don't waste your time. Take the drive to jersey instead.

As for the food, everything was great. My mother in law had the whole branzino which was fresh and perfectly cooked and seasoned. We came on a Saturday night around 8:00pm and the restaurant was packed, with diners filling every room and even the bar area. Thankfully we had reservations and were seated right away. Parking can get tight on busy nights, so we used the valet, which made things easier. We started with a table favorite, chouriço, perfect for sharing while settling in. I ordered one of my go-to Portuguese dishes, Carne à Alentejana, tender cubes of pork loin sautéed with little neck clams, wine, and fresh cilantro. It delivered exactly what I was hoping for, savory, balanced, and deeply comforting. Others at the table enjoyed the broiled Mediterranean octopus and the Chilean sea bass with caper sauce, both well prepared. Service was attentive throughout, and they even offer to take a table photo for you. Portions are generous, the dining room is spotless, and the classic crumb-scraping after the meal is a nice old-school touch. Short of heading to Newark's Portuguese enclave, this is one of the best options in the area.

I very much have always loved the experience of Texas de Brazil…read more I love the cheesy bread, the salad bar and tried a really yummy Brazilian soda this time around. At the salad bar, I got some cheese, prosciutto, rice, potato salad, green beans, asparagus and potatoes au gratin. The only thing I found worth getting again was the potato salad but I didn't even need it because the mashed potatoes they bring out were enough for me, they're pretty good. I didn't like how the vegetables were all cold. The potatoes au gratin were warm but weren't good in my opinion but I was here for the steak so let's get to it: Picanha top sirloin - fire honestly, my favorite. Perfectly cooked. No notes whatsoever. This heavily weighed my rating. Tri tip - Pretty good taste, could've been more rare in my opinion. Flank - Okay, a little tougher than I was expecting. Garlic steak - Tough, not garlicky enough, overdone :/ not good. Barbeque ribs - Alot of cartilage, flavor was fine, not my favorite especially when there's steak involved. Bacon-wrapped filet - it was first brought out well done so I asked if they had it more rare. The server was nice enough to put in a medium rare request for me! He came back in about 5-10 minutes and it was more medium than rare (he asked me if it was alright and I lied because I didn't want to cause more stress so that's on me lol) I will say that it was definitely more rare than that first one and was more tender than the garlic steak but it fully absorbed the bacon flavor and it was a bit too much for me to enjoy. Other notes: I avoided the chicken because I remembered that it tends to be dry and I was right based on my family's reactions. I'm not a huge fan of sausage but my brother did have three of them so they're probably good lmao. The bananas are a good palate cleanser for in between and after. Since my birthday is coming up, I got a piece of the banana's foster pie and it was good! Just could do without the nuts inside personally. I would try something else next time probably. I think overall, Texas de Brazil is a bit hit or miss but I do enjoy the experience of trying and comparing different cuts, and there are some really good ones that make it worth it especially when I've been to expensive steakhouses that definitely don't have anything as good as that amazing picanha steak.

The service - well you feel like family. We did a tasting menu that the chef planned. 8 courses (plus bread service). Dessert was served in the kitchen. All courses had a beverage pairing. Menu: Beet / yogurt pairing with little hints of different flavors that surprise you in a good way Tomato soup (cold) - not like anything I have had before. The father of the chef grows the little tomatoes - maybe grape tomatoes. Not sure. The best tomato soup I have ever had - there were three small tomatoes floating in the soup. So tender (no skin). Wow! Raw yellow tail with two differed sauces that you combined it all together - super fresh fish, amazing sauces - I really can't find the words to do justice for this dish. Even my husband who doesn't eat any sushi had this. And loved it. Seas bass on fava bean sauce - likely the best seas bass I have had. I'm used to Black Sea bass off the boat in Montauk; hard to beat this and they did! Tiger prawn tempora - this was served with a cold beer. Omg. I will never have tempora without a beer again. (I generally don't drink beer.) The batter was exceptionally light, the flavor if the prawn shined. Sockeye salmon on rice - I am not explaining this properly. Wowowow Filet beef with a concentrated au ju - perfectly prepared ... so flavorful. So good. Dessert: tiramisu, two different decadent cookies small and wow. Chocolate truffle (maybe not the right word) but wow We started with champagne, had white wine, red wine, beer, and port. The wines were from Portugal and were sulfite free. And they were spectacular in their own right and perfect pairing with the food. We were here for a big bday cele - it was so special. I will never forget! And I look forward to going back. I wish there were more stars to give. Wish there were more adjectives. I am at a loss at how to explain how good this experience was. If you ever get a chance to go, run there! If you haven't been, call and get a reservation or plan an event. This place has great history with an amazing family. Their passion for food and people is off the charts.
