Love this place too much, had to give 5 stars. The brisket is just so good. Originally I said the prices were a bit expensive which was completely unfair and incorrect. You're getting a good deal of food for what you pay, especially nowadays. Big Ange's is the real deal for BBQ and hospitality. They let us sample their Beef brisket (it was Amazing!!) but we were there for the Pastrami Ruben and Ribs, this time Their Pastrami Ruben is a force to be reckoned with!! Never in my life have I tasted Smoked Pastrami or a Ruben as wonderful as this. Food was "Off the charts" for both BBQ and Warm Welcomes. 5 Stars? That's ridiculous.. It's clearly a 6 star restaurant. The food is 5 out of 5 hands down. So flavorful and delicious I couldn't think of another meal for at least 8 hours. What give this restaurant the elite 6th star is their customer service. When the staff wasn't working extremely hard behind the counter they were in front of it talking to their customer, insuring they were having their best day. I was so excited to try this place after hearing about it everywhere on social media about their Prime Brisket Sandwich around the Chicagoland area. Being a huge bbq fan especially brisket. I had to finally go check this place out. Order 2 brisket sandwiches and I must say I am not a big fan of big chunks for a brisket sandwich. Also the sandwich for my wife and I were both super dry. Not what I was expecting at all after tasting so many bbq places. I had high hopes for this place especially living 15 minutes away so I can make it my go to place close by versus driving to Chicago. First time at Angie's. Parking is easy across the street from the restaurant on Park District property. They have inside and outside seating. A great variety of choices to eat from barbecue, salads, & chicken. The brisket sandwich has two sizes and it was delicious. When ever I have to travel to a new suburban town (Arlington Heights) I always plan a stop at a local resteraunt. This turned out to be a very expensive mistatke. Big Angies BBQ. I asked for no burnt brisket. I was given a sample that was really good. He told me the black is a smoke layer and it is not burnt. I ordered half a pound. Only to get home and find I had been sliced the really dry burnt end of the brisket. All peices were horibble with no fat, just dry meat. The cole slaw was decent. The Service was great. read more

We used to like this place a lot. But the recent few visits have been different. The last time we ordered ribs and briskets. Ribs are nice in a way that sauce trumps the meet taste. The meat was tender but a bit dry. The sauce tasted great, sweet and strong. The briskest was too tough and dry. We also had their signature lemonade - and it's watery. The price is also very high given its fast food vibe. If you crave for a good bbq, I highly recommend Chicago Culinary Kitchen that's not too far. read more

Mehhhh! Not a big fan at all. I had what they think is "porchetta" when in reality, all it was is pork shoulder. A real porchetta is pork loin rolled inside pork belly with roasted fennel pollen, rosemary, garlic, coriander, salt and pepper. Porchetta? I don't think so. 06/05/21 - Today I finally made it to Big Ange's Eatery in Arlington Heights. My sister has been giving rave reviews about this place. Today I was finally in the area so I stopped in. Big Ange's is located on a tiny triangular site where Euclid & Northwest Highway meet. The parking lot is incredibly small. I ordered the smoked pastrami which is available only on Friday & Saturday until they run out. OMG the pastrami was so delicious & tender w/a smoky flavor that left my mouth watering as I slobbered my way through each delectable bite. This really had me craving & wanting another sandwich. Unfortunately I would have had to have a second stomach to consume this big juicy sandwich. As I was leaving I saw the smoker out in the parking lot w/a couple of the guys from Big Ange taking a couple of slabs of smoked sirloin out of the large smoker outside in the parking lot. One of them asked me if I wanted to try a sample of the sirloin tip & a sample of the smoked brisket. I mean twist my arm. He had to torture me and force me to try the samples lol . They were both delicious. The sirloin tip was very good but a little on the salty side. The brisket was so delicious & tender that it just melted in my mouth. What a delight. I've driven by this place dozens of times and never stopped in, but something called me today, and am I ever glad. Saturday midday and it was very busy but orders were dispatched promptly and correctly. We had the single patty ("petite") burgers, which come with thick dill chips, a house-made mayo/mustard spread, and diced red onion on a bakery soft roll. Burgers are cooked on a flattop. The beef was flavorful and cooked medium. Fresh cut fries are available in one size, an order large enough to share, and they were hot and crisp. We also had a chocolate shake, hand-scooped, ice cream made in-house. The menu is quite deep and features sandwiches and a variety of BBQ entrees as well. Owner/Manager? stopped by the table and asked if everything was satisfactory and whether he could get anything else for us. I shall return. Often. What a great place! Everyone is so friendly and the food is amazing. I had a pulled pork sandwich that came with a huge portion of pulled pork on it. The boardwalk style fries were addictive, and the vanilla milkshake was really delicious. Seating could be limited but didn't have to wait for a table on a Saturday. Everyone seems very considerate. My husband and I drove out to the FABULOUS Arlington Heights eatery this afternoon for lunch. It was our first time visiting so we asked a gentleman behind the counter what he recommended. He was spot on when he suggested the reuben with pastrami. The sandwich was delicious and smoky. I had a tri-tip sandwich that was tender and smoky-no bbq sauce needed. We tried the cole slaw and found it creamy without being overly wet. (no horseradish in this recipe). Chip, a very friendly and personable employee, brought over samples of their homemade orange lemonade and homemade ice cream. Let me tell you, we were full before dessert, but so glad we made a bit of room for that ice cream! It was somewhere in between soft serve and hard scoop-perfection!
