For the most part as far as other bagel shops in this area you can say they are winning. But me personally not so impressed and I do believe it's because I grew up in Brooklyn NY. I guess the saying of "it being the water" has some truth to it. No matter how many times I tried something different it's still the same result for me. They're not bad but it's missing something in the dough. Overall it is a busy shop and the employee's are pleasant and respectful. As a New Yorker all my life, that recently relocated to the Tampa area, finding bagels pizza and pasta has been a struggle.. nothing taste the same. One of my new friends recommended Big Apple Bagels since I'm the newest member with Fresh NY taste buds. And I am sorry but NOTHING LIKE NY. Clean friendly establishment but just NOT my NY bagel shop. Asked for fried egg burn bacon n American cheese, a classic... No fried egg, had to settle for scrambled that was super bland no flavor. And my burnt bacon was NOT BURNT. It was jiggly Sorry Big Apple change up your egg style burn the bacon when a customer asks add some salt pepper and maybe love. This place is so gd. The bagels are very tasty. The bagel sandwich was so good. and my turtle iced latte was to die for. We went on a saturday, and all the seats were packed. They also have a nice set up to eat outside, and you can bring your dog with you too. The place is packed but there service is good and fast, and their food is yummy. The one thing that makes me think I won't be there all the time is that the prices can be a little bit more expensive. i'll go sometimes. Their bagels and cream cheese are so so gd and great selection. Their sandwiches are great. A lot of our before work meetings wind up occurring at Big Apple Bagels. I'm okay with that. I enjoy their extensive selection of bagels, which are only slightly more expensive than Publix but have many more flavors to choose from. Everything from seasonal, to savory, to fruity to sweet. You want it, Big Apple Bagels probably has it. What I don't like about the bagels is the cost of their toppings. If you want anything other than a plain bagel, you are going to have to pay. Cream cheese, guacamole, peanut butter, you get it, it nearly doubles your bagel price. I'm not getting a whole tub here, I just want a scoop. Big Apple Bagels also offers a number of unique bagel sandwiches that are perfect for breakfast or lunch. My friends swear by them, I have yet to try one. Also on the menu are muffins. Just like the bagels, these come in many different flavors. They are served big (or mini) and are made with soybean oil instead of butter or margarine. This location offers a special on Wednesdays as their muffin prices are reduced. That's usually when i find a blueberry one with my name on it. The fact that Big Apple Bagels offers specials everyday of the week, more than makes up for the extra money you need to shell out to top your bagel. Prices are too high for what they have, and they allow people to be in there without social distancing. The virus doesn't come around you if you are packed shoulder to shoulder and eating? When they bake their bagels properly they are a 6 out of 5. Amazing. The problem is whoever is doing the baking every morning must personally enjoy an underbaked bagel. We grabbed some bagels here on the way to the outlets. The bagels were tasty, we had a Swiss melt with olive cream cheese, a scooped bagel with chicken salad and a jalapeño with chive cream cheese. Breakfast visit this morning. No line but busy which was great. We ordered 3 breakfast sandwiches and three mini muffins. My daughter ordered a regular sandwich. We would all get our sandwiches again. However, Emma's sandwich still had the cheese paper separator on it. Sadly, she ate some before she noticed. I often pass Big Apple Baglels and decided to stop in. Entering the plaza is easy but exiting is not as convenient. I ordered the southern breakfast bagel with sausage and it was pretty good. The prep time in making the sandwich was rather fast considering it was a decent crowd present. Upon entering, I was unsure where to place my order- the register or the food prep counter?! I had to ask after a few seconds of trying to figure it out. (You order at the food counter) The service was very mediocre. I told the person taking my order this was my first time and she just looked at me. It would have been nice for her to explain the menu, go over their most popular items, or simply said, "Thanks for visiting us today."... anything besides giving me a stare. The young lady that gave me my food just called my name and handed me the bag so I feel that exchange could have been more welcoming or thanked me for my order or a "Have a nice day."... something a bit more pleasurable and less awkward. All in all, I probably would visit again as I enjoy supporting local small businesses and my bagel sandwich was good. read more

I skipped my regular bagel shop( Bagels Plus) to go here today and I was disappointed. The bagels are most likely frozen and are very similar to an Einstein or McDonalds bagel. I'm also fairly certain that the eggs are not fresh, possibly powdered. If you are okay with mediocrity, sure go here. Being from New England, I'm used to a New York style bagel. These are not them. Drive the 20 minutes south and go to Bagels Plus. You won't regret it. Also side note, the staff was friendly and the service was relatively speedy.
