Corey was amazing! This was our first time visiting Chicken Guy, and he made it such a great experience. We were helped right away, and the customer service was excellent from the moment we walked in. The chicken was fresh, perfectly seasoned, and not oily at all. Everything tasted delicious! The restaurant was also very clean, and I noticed that as soon as customers left, the employees cleaned the tables right away, which I really appreciated. To top it all off, Corey gave my son an ice cream as a special treat, which absolutely made his day. It was such a thoughtful gesture and made us feel so welcome. After picking my wife up from the Tampa Int'l airport, we decided to try Chicken Guy for dinner on our way back home. Having seen one in a Walmart in Ocala, we were intrigued by it. Being Triple D fans, we've generally found some good eats at the joints featured in the show...so we were excited to try this place out. While deciding what to order, we asked the lady at the front counter about the Southern Style Tenders combo, and we were told it's crispier and will take longer to prepare than the regular tenders. OK! We both ordered that combo with my wife choosing the Donkey Sauce and me opting for the Nashville Hot Honey and Chipotle Ranch. We got our drinks, sat down and were prepared to wait a few for our tenders to be prepared. Imagine our surprise when our meals were served within minutes of us sitting down. Great...we thought. Well, we dug in and the chicken tenders weren't crispy nor overly hot...so it was perhaps sitting under a heat lamp and not freshly prepared like we were led to believe. On a positive note, the seemingly hand cut fries were good and so were the specialty sauces. My wife really liked the Donkey Sauce for her tenders and fries. I was partial to the Nashville Hot Honey sauce. All in all, not a bad experience but would've preferred freshly prepared, crispy chicken tenders. The interior ambiance features a lot of red and yellow with red half booths and black metal high top tables and metal chairs not the comfiest. With my BLAT samich order, all the fixings complemented the chicken well. Also, I love love love that the way they serve the sandwich converts effortlessly into a to-go box. So smart! And it's large enough to fit the fries too. Trust me, not that leftovers would be a thing with such delicious food but I was full from a previous beverage so discovered that I could take the leftovers to go without having to ask for a container was awesome. This and many other little details (that go a long way) shows just how much thought was out into this venture. Need another example? Hands down my favorite fast food place around. The BLAT is amazing! Grilled chicken sandwich with avocado BLT.. yum. Also, for those who don't know. They serve breakfast! They have a breakfast burrito that comes with grilled or fried chicken.. and it's only 5 bucks!! I have one and only one complaint. They offer rewards, which is awesome and I love participating in. However, the staff will not ask you if you have it! You must tell them at the time of ordering that you have it or they will not give it to you. The staff will become rude with you over this! It was Easy to order from the menu, they have delicious tenders but I never know what sauce to try so I took recommendations from the front and got Garlic Parm & Ranch. My husband was eager to try this place, so I agreed to give it a shot. We went through the drive-thru and ordered the chopped cheese egg rolls, a side of mac and cheese, and a chicken tender meal with fries. When we got to the window the employee advised us to pull up they're just waiting for the egg roll since they were still cooking. After about 20 minutes, an employee came out to let us know the egg rolls were still cooking. I didn't mind waiting since that meant they'd be fresh. When we finally received our food, my husband and I parked to check our order, only to find that the tenders, fries, and sauces were missing. I had to go inside to let them know half my order was missing! by this point, it had been 30 minutes, which was frustrating. One positive note, the inside of the restaurant was very clean, which I appreciated. However, when I explained the situation at the counter and showed my receipt, the employee didn't even apologize. She simply handed me my meal and offered two extra sauces. My husband wanted to try the food while it was still hot, so we ate outside in their seating area. We started with the mac and cheese, which was extremely disappointing it tasted processed, and the cheese had an artificial flavor. The chicken tenders, on the other hand, were pretty good, and the "Donkey Sauce" we chose was tasty. The fries were fresh and hot, but to me, fries are hard to mess up. We saved the egg rolls for last since we were most excited about them, but they ended up being the biggest letdown. After waiting 20 minutes, we expected them to be freshly made, but they weren't the inside was still frozen! The food was incredible, the service was out of this world, and the vibe and setup of the restaurant was amazing. Everything is so well thought out and my time there really couldn't have been better! We got the chance to try out a bunch of menu options, milkshakes, and all the sauces, and there wasn't a single dud in the lineup. My favorites of the night were definitely the pepperoni chicken parm sandwich, the apple cinnamon milkshake and the mac and cheese. So I will say if you are a chicken person then you will understand what I'm about to say. They offer several tender sandwich options as well as a 3 and 5 piece tender. Oh and combo is a drink and fries with 2 sauces for a 3 piece not sure on the 5 as I asked for all sauces since it's my first time. Now the tenders are not like traditional tenders so not a PDQ or Canes it's more like a filet style tender. They aren't flat but aren't skinny and long. I wish I would have taken pictures but I had kids and forgot. I will say the breading is amazing and the tender isn't very moist. But honestly you get that perfect texture on the outside a nice bite and semi juicy tender. It's by no means dry. Just if you know PDQ and canes you'll expect a more juicy tender. The fries are great, staff was very friendly and the chef even walked around asking how everyone was doing. Tables are clean and the place was nice. I will definitely be coming back that's for sure. Positive - Facility is clean and nice - Staff was very friendly - Had a variety of Sauces Negatives - No hand-held menus to read easily - All sodas did not have carbonation - Tenders could be seasoned more to match fries - Lack of traditional yellow mustard - While sodas are all out only leaving Tea and juices, they leave empty tea containers on the shelf with no plan to refill, making customer refills difficult. I had chicken guy's pepperoni chicken Parm sandwich for lunch today. It was super satisfied. Two pieces of crunchy fried chicken in between fresh soft bun with pepperoni, garlic and tomato sauce and melted Parmesan cheese. It tasted exactly like I would have chicken Parmesan in Italian restaurant. It tasted so fresh and neatly folded in paper so I handhold and finish the whole sandwich without messing my fingers. The size was so big. Definitely bigger than any other place's fry chicken sandwich. I also had a chocolate shake. It was OK. The French fries was good. Drink station has all sort of soda, the sweet tea wasn't so sweet. The sitting area has fun vibe. The service was attentive.
