I recently went here for my friend's birthday. I treated him to an open bar and some very satisfying fried pickles. The bartender of course comped us a birthday shot and took care of my friend's sometimes curious requests. While there I spoke to the owner, who is very personable and friendly. The new 5 star rating reflects their efforts, friendliness, and the continued quality of their bar food. For a neighborhood bar within an almost forgotten strip mall, this is excellence. read more

The place is a little gross, but good things come from gross things sometimes. The Alfredo pizza is one of the best pizzas I've personally ever had! It was so good, also the chili cheese fries are super good. We come here after work at least 2-3 times a week and the service is really good. The prices are also really cheap. I would not recommend the wings, my friend ordered the Lemon pepper wings and they were disgusting! Way to much seasoning, asked for a refund and the waitress said she couldn't. This place is great. Joe (the owner) and all of the staff are very friendly. We are on a first name basis!! I get over there at least twice a week. Love the turkey club wrap!! Tastes great and is pretty healthy. Karaoke on Fridays and Saturdays. This is the place to be on the weekends!! Sometimes you can get Joe to break out some Sinatra!! Check this place out. Dive bar in a divey strip mall hidden behind a 7-11 and next to a laundromat. The inside is actually very inviting in a very dark, alcoholic kind of way. In fact I would not mind coming here with my coworkers after work. But the lunch "buffet" is a joke. Sure the waitresses are cute, young and awkward. But the "buffett" consists of bland chicken fried steak, bland mash potatos from a box and bland greasy pizza. There's a chinese food place next door that has a true "buffett" that has marginally better variety. read more

All regulars, not nicely decorated, REALLY rude bartenders. I take it the women bartenders do not like other women patrons. And the proof is in the puddin, there's not one attractive women in the joint anytime I've ever been. They must feel threatened and be running them all off to secure tips from the men in there. Not a bar I would hang out at. Shiner is the best beer they offer, but at least there's Tito's. Attentive waitstaff. But it's so smokey I almost couldn't breathe. The food is pretty solid. My friend and I had wings which easily are the best in the area and the rest of the food ordered by everyone at the table looked good. The food here is 5 stars. Best chicken Alfredo pizza I've ever had and the cheese pizza is also delicious. The place is dirty most of the time from the restrooms to the tables and the condiments with years of dirt stuck to them. If they cleaned up a bit I would give it 5 stars. read more

Its just bar food. Don't expect anything more. Our waitress was nice but she was pretty busy. I think there we're only two and they took care of the bar during lunch. Granted they offer buffet so not much service is needed. Tried the chicken fried steak... It was okay. It was covered in gravy so there's not much else taste other then the gravy. read more

This is a great little hole in the wall locals bar that most people would drive past and not even realize it's there. Nice diverse menu for anyone's bar food desires. We had the patty melt and the Stromboli, both definitely hit the spot. The service was a little slow but the place was packed for the a&m vs ou bowl game so it was understandable and the waitress was really nice so it was all good. read more

Ive been going here on and off for years now. I got to know the owner and also some of the bar staff. Everyone has always been friendly and courteous. That all came crashing down last night. John (he was nice enough to ask me if i knew how to spell it) the bartender was rude and extremely unprofessional. It really is a shame because i liked the place but after being treated the way we were last night I wont be back and i will do my best to make everyone i know aware. Great atmosphere, if you enjoy a smoky room. If you don't they have amazing food had their pizza Alfredo and it's like pizza huts pasta Alfredo on top of pizza, but theirs taste so ugh better! I lived in the Camden Apartments directly behind "The Big AP" (don't rent from there :))when I lived in TX and I just had to come back and yelp about this place. When I first moved to Texas I did not know anyone so I was at bars a lot. This one just happened to be right around the corner from my place so I went. Drinks are cheap and food is decent but the Grilled Chicken salad was freaking delicious! Loved it and there dressing is just awesome idk if its home made or what but they have the best ranch and blue cheese I have had in a while. The wings are decent but all in all it's a fun place to go watch people do Karaoke and chill. The DJ would play dance music to which was always fun, id dance often there if he did play music, dancing with older ladies who were just so much fun and just having good times. It is an older crowed but I like it, it's a bar that is comfy, not pretentious, and really just a nice place to put the cowboy boots up and relax! This place used to have great food. Their $8 chicken breast is way smaller than Wendy's. Better off walking the 100 feet to Wendy's and saving 1/2 your money for something else. When I brought it up to the waitress, she just giggled and walked away. It's a shame. No wonder this place is empty during lunch. Plenty of other places around. read more

I absolutely LOVE this bar! Whether I just want to grab a quick beer or sit down for a while and enjoy a delicious meal, this place is always on point! The staff is like family and the regulars are quick to adopt anyone new who comes by more than a couple times. The owner Joe has the biggest heart ever. He's always happy to sit and chat with customers, and will check on you throughout your visit. The food is ALL amazing, though the blackened chicken alfredo is my all-time favorite. Beer is always cold, and, even though I'm a smoker, the atmosphere is so much nicer since they banned smoking inside. The patio outside is a fun place to hang in the shade, too! It's not fancy, but kinda in between a dive bar and a neighborhood restaurant. Live music, trivia nights, karaoke nights...all a good time! I bring fam and friends here every time they come for a layover since I live close to the airport, and Joe treats my guests as family, too. Where does one begin? This is a dive bar. That's why I love it. You should know what you're getting into. If you want fancy then keep going. If you want locals with no social skills and reasonably priced drinks in a smoke filled bar than this is your stop. The owner is a really friendly and welcoming guy. This place is a hidden gem. We went on Friday and Saturday night and had too much fun. We were skeptical at first. It's tucked away between a cleaners and 7-11. Definitely looked sketch. We walked in and immediately questioned the place. We decided to stay because it was in walking distance to our hotel. It ended up being a great choice. Food was delicious. We had grilled cheese, wings and a turkey wrap and everyone was beyond satisfied. Delicious. Drinks were pretty inexpensive and strong. Gabby was our server. Kept us entertained for sure. Friday DJ D did music trivia. Our group won and they gave us a round of shots. The rest of the night he played every single song we requested. Best night ever. Saturday they had karaoke. We were 100% not going back because Friday was over the top, but we decided to go for 1 drink. Before we knew it, it was closing time. The DJ was great and played good dance music in between songs. I'd for sure go back. My only negative is it's super smoky. I'm use to bars in Austin and Dallas where there's no smoking though. Big Apple was an epic find. read more

Popped in today for lunch for the first time...a pizza and pasta buffet. The pizza was warm since it was under a heat lamp but the pasta was cold and had little flavor. The bow tie mushroom alfredo was very watery and had little flavor. The bartender ws attentive and polite though. But they allow smoking in there...something I'm not accustomed to so I doubt I'll be back to eat there. I saw someone had a burger....it looked pretty pedestrian too. read more

If the staff and patrons weren't so friendly, I would have never stayed. No offense to those who smoke but this place was a "fog bank" the entire time. My buddy and I were exhausted and desperate for a beer yet literally everyone but us was smoking. It was brutal yet the friendly waitress made it just barely tolerable.
