At first glance, the menu here doesn't look very special, so it took us a while to decide to eat here. We've now been three times, and each time has been fantastic. The Cathead chicken biscuit and the Breakfast Crumble are our two favorites. The flavor of each ingredient is spot on. My only critique would be the juice glasses are really tiny. Wish the service was as good as the food. The food was good. There just seems to be no passion behind the bar and a waitress was very rude to us. Seems this place needs help with training and customer service. Did not feel very taken care of. It would make the food taste better too if the service put you in a good mood but my experience today actually downed my good mood. I will not be coming back because of my bad experience with how we were treated by someone who was not our server that had an attitude problem. At one point the wait list said we were next in line and then we were miraculously bumped down a few spots. What a fantastic breakfast!! Our first time there, and Sarah took excellent care of us. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and even took the time to offer options to our choices and read the order back to us for accuracy. My husband had the cathead chicken biscuit with an egg, and I had the Jack Benny and WOW!!!! Hot and such a nice pop of flavor. The fresh squeezes orange juice was a treat as well! Definitely worth the short wait and money. (Btw, you can join the wait-list before you go to avoid a wait!) We will be back for sure! My ONLY complaint was that people were using the door in the back room to leave which let in a lot of cold air near our table, so I'd probably ask for a seat away from that when it's cold out. It might be a good idea to put a sign on the door asking patrons to leave using the front door during cold weather. We tried another new Breakfast Place! I loved the Latte I ordered and my better half loved the coffee! It was bitter which in other Breakfast places the Coffee isn't good nor made with great coffee beans! We have now found only 2 breakfast places that take coffee seriously! Delicious southern breakfast with a twist. My wife had heard about this breakfast spot from her coworkers and so we decided to check it out. We arrived around 11:45 AM. It was kind of busy, but there was no wait. We were set right away and waited on immediately. There were so many great options on the menu that it was not easy deciding what to get. I went with the Big Bad Biscuit Sandwich. It was really good! You could definitely tell the biscuit was made fresh from scratch. My wife chose the Shrimp and Grits. We both really enjoyed our meals! It was a beautiful day with a nice breeze, so we set at one of the outdoor tables in the shade. It really was perfect for brunch! The manager stopped by our table and asked how everything was and if we needed anything. All of the staff was very attentive and friendly. We never had to wait for anything. I'm not sure why some of these other reviews are saying that the service was slow or they set around for a long time before getting their food. Our food came out surprisingly quick and our coffee cups were never empty. They provided a high chair, crayons, and a kids coloring activity for our toddler. Everything is reasonably priced. Not a fan. Popped in around 12:30 or so today (9/7/21) and was pleasantly surprised to see that the place wasn't crowded, so I assumed everyone that ate there must have done so for breakfast. Breakfast is one of the least expensive meals to serve, so I understand those restaurants opening up to specialize and try to upgrade the basics to help justify the pricing. You aren't getting out of there, with tip, for less than $20 for one person. In short, save yourself $10 and go to Waffle House. I had the Redneck Benny ($12.50) and was so disappointed. While the eggs were scrambled nicely, the open faced biscuit was far from fluffy and reminded me of an hours old biscuit from Popeye's Chicken. The outside was as crunchy as a cookie, and the inside was meh. Then it was topped with ham. The ham wasn't bad, it just wasn't great. Again...meh. The sausage gravy....terrible. It tasted nothing like a good sausage gravy should and had a slightly bitter undertone. I was asking myself if the chef or whomever decided on the menu was from somewhere else besides the country south (maybe they're from a coastal southern area.) That question doubled when I wanted grits as my side and was told they were cheese grits only. What?? What respectable southern breakfast doesn't serve plain grits that one can plop on sugar and butter? So, I took the cheese grits, had one bite, and shoved them aside. Bitter cheddar isn't a flavor I favor in a breakfast item. I forgot to ask them what the heck was ham powder. My meal was supposedly dusted with ham powder which, if it was on the gravy, could be the reason it tasted so bad. Ham does not lend itself well to breakfast gravy as a flavor. I had asked if the coffee was fresh and was told yes. Hundreds of patrons from the pacific northwest whose palates have been so destroyed by Starbucks charred beans would find the coffee pleasant I'm sure. To me it was too strong and undrinkable. Much too bitter and obviously a dark roast. Does no one know how to make a simple, medium bodied coffee that appeals to more people any more? I guess not. While the service was okay, the kitchen was slow and I can't imagine why when I was maybe one of less than 8 customers in the joint. Nope, I won't be going back. read more

My husband and I visited BBB for the first time this morning, and we agreed it was the best breakfast we've had at a local restaurant. The menu is extensive and innovative, and it was hard to make a decision about what to order. After much consideration, I ordered the shrimp grits with a fried egg and one of their wonderful cathead biscuits flavored with pepper. The biscuits are soft on the inside with a little crunch on the outside. They use a light tomato broth with red-eye gravy, and the combination is different and delicious. My husband loved his Low Country Skillet as well. The staff was welcoming, ready to make recommendations, and efficient. We love this place and look forward to returning again and again. read more

Maybe my expectations were too high. I ordered the big bad breakfast, big it was not. The first thing I noticed was the emptiness of my plate, then I noticed that the bacon was limp and undercooked, I asked for it to be cooked till crispy. Well, when it came back it had been deep-fried so now it slightly overcooked and kind of tasteless. I mentioned this to the server and she said that was normal operating procedure, I hope that is not the truth cause it should be made crispy on the flat-top so that it does not lose its flavor, deep frying is cheating. So now the eggs that I ordered over-medium were over-easy they still had uncooked egg white and a cool not warm yoke. Then the grits tasted good after I added salt but the side of grits was in my opinion very small. If I had ordered a side of grits for $3.50 and gotten that I would have sent it back. Just put a big scoop on the plate, keep your little mini-bowl. My bread was a pancake again I was expecting bigger again if ordered as an extra ($3.50) back to the kitchen it would go. So after looking at the website and getting excited about this new restaurant I was let down considerably. I might have to go back to the Waffle House where I get more of a big bang for my big bucks. read more

Very disappointed in this expensive breakfast. The biscuits were hard and flat. The gravy tasted terrible! The waitress said yes we have had complaints for some time now and she thinks they have a bad batch of flour. If that is the case, management should IMMEDIATELY pull those items from the menu or get fresh flour. Its absurd to think they would sell something they know is inferior. Besides the flour issue, the rest of the meal was just ok. The toast was burnt and very hard. The potato cakes were so hard my knife wouldn't even cut through. If it hadn't been for the waitress letting us know they have been getting a lot of complaints, I would have thought it was just a one time issue. This is a new restaurant and probably won't last long, if they don't make immediate changes to the quality of the food, as it is very expensive $80 for 4 of us to eat.
