I can't complain about their food but they need better core values. I know in all situations the customer doesn't come first but in this one it should have. I am disgusted and disappointed due to the fact I couldn't replace my drink with something else because they would "lose money" I ordered a orange juice forgetting it was not to my liking. I tried to get a different drink and I was told i could not change it or get a refund because the company would lose money. The large orange being 5.50 and as we know they paid less than that for it, I was shocked then the "manager" came and said "I can get you a Togo cup" as if I was going to magically like it when it was placed in a different cup. Have you ever wanted to eat at a mediocre Perkins off the interstate but REALLY wanted to pay double for that meal? Big Bad Breakfast has you covered. The crowd management needs to be worked out. We've called ahead and gotten soft reservation times and still waited over an hour for service after arrival. Now that I've had the opportunity to experience the restaurant I can provide an update. I was hoping to try the food and service and allow my frustration to be overwhelmed so I could update to a rating that more fit the overall experience. Unfortunately, I may have nailed it on the first try. Nothing about the food we ordered was exceptional, the wait staff was clearly pushed to frustration and the overall vibe was just not what we were expecting. I'd love to give BBB another shot in the future but I don't know if that's going to happen considering this trip. read more

This was my first time coming here. Absolutely loved it. We only had to wait 30 minutes for a 45-60 minute waitlist. The set up was great. I had black coffee to start and a mimosa. I've been here four times now and the customer service is always great! They greet you and are very patient and informative regarding options and the menu. The food has always been good (big bad breakfast has been my go-to/ safe option), but I'm trying to get back health conscious and looked for other options on the menu. As a result, I found my new go to, the avocado toast! A-MA-ZING! I had no clue what to expect but it exceeded every expectation! Huge portion size, super filling, and great flavor and texture combinations! I wish I had more right now! A lot of restaurants who aren't "health focused " tend to just throw a healthy option on the menu just to say they have it but it lacks the same effort as their other options. The place is okay. It seems that they only pay an attention to a certain culture. The customer services was slow on a Thursday around 11 am. We ordered an omelettes. My spouse was a veggie and mind was a ham and swiss cheese. My omelette was dry with little flavor. There was nothing special about them. One of employee or who ever he was was hitting on a customer and talking loud right by our table. Waitress just gave us the bill without asking if we were doing okay but offered drinks thereafter to take with us. We did not check the bill. She added an 18% tip onto the bill. And we gave her $5 cash tip. She did not borrow to tell us. So, whatever! I did not want borrow her about the tips. However, I do not see what is so good about this place. I would NOT recommend wasting my money here. read more

The food was sub par, the customer services lack of, the employee seems like they don't want be there, and they overcharged. There were no friendly smile. It seems like they favor the black culture because the male black employee was talking out loud to a black female customer right across from our table. We spent $31 with water for two people. I have had the Screamin Demon chicken sandwich from here to-go, which was solid, but not my favorite. I went in recently to try dine-in and hand the chicken and waffle and it was one of the best chicken and waffles I've had. The biscuits and sausage gravy was definitely so good though. Disappointed with the Belgian Waffle. It all starts with a hostess with no idea how to estimate turnover, though thankfully her time estimate turned out to be vastly wrong in our favor, something that I could see easily when I got on the list. They were out of the comeback sauce which is a signature item. Seriously? It's not that hard to make. Just run down the road to Kroger. The sandwich said it came with mayo, but it didn't. We had to ask repeatedly for drink refills. And then to cap it off when asking for the check we learn the system is down. To their credit they were willing to comp the bill. We left cash. But we had to estimate the bill which wasn't as simple as it sounds given that iced tea and Diet Coke aren't listed on the menu. Nor are the sandwich sides. Really disappointed. Had to wait about 15-20min but that's normal for weekend brunch. For drinks we got Bloody Mary and Vietnamese iced coffee. The bloody was a little chunky but good, the Vietnamese coffee was sooo good. A perfect blend of sweet but still good coffee taste. We ate shrimp and grits and the breakfast crumble. Wanted to try this place. First of all, i am definitely not going back. Waited 30+ mins to be seated. Then waited about 49 mins for food. Got a skillet dish. If you close your eyes and tasted you would not be able to tell what you had. Zero flavor. Everything was very bland. Tasted the other dish that my party ordered. Pancake was dry and tasteless. Service gets a one. Waited too long to get refills. Total was $60+. That. It included about $10 tip. Good thing since I would not have tipped more than $5. read more

This was truly a BIG BAD BREAKFAST!!! They sat us in a spot that had fruit flies flying everywhere and one got into my caramel cappuccino!! Then the skillet was the smallest skillet serving Ever!! I love it here. I come almost every Saturday and the staff is always so kind! My food is always hot and comes out relatively quickly. I just completed my third visit to BBB. It was all I have come to expect from BBB both here and in Oxford (sans the hour drive!) my server was fabulous. Attentive, knowledgeable and quick. I love tomato gravy. I don't know of another breakfast place that serves it! With Blue Plate closing it is wonderful to have BBB in East Memphis. My favorite so far is the crumble bowl and the shrimp and grits. Mimosas are fabulous! They often have a long wait...worth every minute. They use the Yelp waitlist system and it works perfectly. You don't have to sit for two hours. Get on the waitlist and show up at your check in time! Nothing could be easier! I wish all popular restaurants would use this system!! read more
