Food and service was good. We were seated in a timely manner and our food came hot and with in a good time frame.

The food is always on point. The best french toast that I have ever had. The creole omelet is amazing. Our server Diva was delightful! Do not place a to go order here!! So we used to love this place when it first opened--dined in and did take out regularly. However, the last 3 to-go orders have been a disaster. Get home and major parts of each entree missing, or driving the 20 min here to find the kitchen deleted the PRE-PAID to go order, so now you have yo wait an extra 40 min if you want it---then after waiting 40 min they still didn't add any of the protein you paid $6 EXTRA for! This place has gone so downhill, and it will be our last time visiting. Safe yourself trouble and dine at Toasted Yolk instead! We've loved every meal at Toasted Yolk, and no issues there. read more

My husband and I went for breakfast this morning 2-23-22, around 7:35 AM. Ordered a simple 2 eggs, bacon, sausage, hash cakes, and biscuits. My plate came out cold. Bacon was limp, not done. Biscuits were cold. It was like a Tunic casino buffet was in the kitchen and they picked the food off of it and plated. We expected more from a John Curence establishment. Don't waste your time on a $35 breakfast for two people. Coffee was Ok. Biscuits n Gravy had butter swimming thru the gravy. Bowl of Grits Girl grits, tasted sour, like it had buttermilk and cheese combined .$3.50 for a 4oz bowl (horrible) Biscuits were covered in butter/butter oil substitute. That's why we didn't get our own butter to apply as needed, I suppose. Scrambled eggs were to greasy. Chicken sausage links were ok. Sorry folks, it's really not in my nature to dog out a restaurant, cause I've been in this industry for 30 years. I had high expectations for this restaurant after hearing such great reviews but upon arrival the wait was 1 hour for a seat at the bar for a party of 1. Instead of waiting I placed an online order thinking that would be quicker, but still had to wait 10-20 minutes after order time just to receive the order that was already paid for and just sitting. The restaurant should figure out a new system for orders placed online that wouldn't cause customers to have to wait and receive cold food. read more

This place is brand new in the area. We went to about three different places in Memphis trying to find a breakfast and brunch place. All had outrageous wait times, this place had a 1 hr wait and actually only waited 40 mins. The waitress that served us was Lindsey and she was extremely nice and had very good customer service even though they were so busy. She checked in on us frequently and the food came out so fast! The food all tasted fresh. It was an overall really great experience. Another Broken Egg used to be our go to. This is now our new favorite place to go! read more

Finally dined in and learned BBB charges an automatic 18% gratuity on all checks. I don't agree with this practice in the first place but it's made even worse when you're held hostage for half an hour after you're done eating and trying to pay to leave. Forced gratuity lets servers get away with terrible service, which is exactly what we had today. We won't be eating here again even though the food is relatively good. read more

Was my second time visiting on this cold morning; 38 degrees and a 35 minute wait time. Unfortunately was NOT a great experience. Our seat was at front door where all the cold air was blowing in my face due to door never closing more than a minute at a time not to mention the huge crowd standing over me waiting to be seated. Asked manager to be moved being that I couldn't get comfortable with coldness and several different people rear ends in my face and I'm willing to wait for next table for two ; his response was no guarantee I could seat you. Wow. Ok wasted my morning there but Perkins around the corner gets my 5 stars; great seating, warm comfortable atmosphere, affordable prices, excellent customer service and fresh cooked to order food. On Mothers Day they were very rude and told many people they were not taking reservations anymore. This was at 12:00pm. Also, when I walked up.. I over heard a lady saying she made reservations at 10am and been sitting there for 2 hours. She said to the staff.. "Did y'all thought I was painting a building. I've been out here for 2 hours. " However, we did not have a reservation, they told my family I they were not taking anyone else and walked away. This was very unprofessional. read more

I wouldn't recommend. 1.) Wait time to get in and to get the type of food they serve was too long. 2.) My server, fair-skinned black female in her 40's ...attitude was dry/nasty from jump. She barely offered a smile, no proper welcome and gave No recommendations! 3.) My mother didn't like the orange juice...instead simply taking it back and taking it off the tab...she replied, "what's wrong with it, it's just fresh squeezed oranges". 4.) My sister ordered a po boy no tomatoes, no pickles with mayo instead of tartar, the sandwich arrives with pickles and tartar, we brought it to her attention. She dryly responded "oh, to thought you said no lettuce, no tomatoes". Brings the sandwich back...still wrong...no lettuce WITH the old fries from the first plate!! I asked no onions and spicy bacon in my skillet...skillet arrives with no bacon....WITH onions. French was a major disappointment...tasted like cold funnel cake. Pancakes and smoke sausage was decent. The food is just okay...like literally nothing to write home about. I love the look and the menu sounded great, so I was pretty disappointed. Service was great but I started with room temp coffee which the server promptly replaced when I let her know. I ordered a skillet and while it was small for the price I would behave even okay with if it was good. The potatoes were tiny pieces more like hash browns mixed in with scrambled eggs, mushrooms, onions, spinach, and bell peppers. There were LOTS of bell pepper pieces. That's the majority of what I tasted. The biscuits were okay. I guess I just had higher expectations. I would probably go back is someone else picked it, but would not be my first choice. read more

Visited midmorning on a Tuesday. Food was good, but disappointed in the service. After being seated, we waited 15 minutes before anyone came to the table. Besides the food being brought to the table, server was never seen again except to bring the bill, and our water glasses were empty the majority of the time, with no one coming to provide a refill. I was also surprised to discover that their policy is 18% gratuity is automatically added to all bills. read more

In town for a short visit & saw this pop up as being close to our hotel. I'm so glad we decided to try it--it's absolutely delicious! We tried several entrees--low country skillet (eggs, cheese, andouille sausage, shrimp, potatoes); chicken & waffles; short stack of pancakes with the spicy bacon; biscuits; and grits. Every single item was fantastic! They are doing a great job considering they're short staffed. You put your name on the waiting list & are texted once your table is ready. The check in system lets you know where you are in line & what time to show back up. It works very well. Our server was friendly & did a great job checking on us, getting refills, bringing food out quickly, etc. I suspect this will be a hugely successful restaurant in Memphis. read more

Went for birthday breakfast today and let me start with this, the food is really good. The biscuits are very, very good. But a few other issues marred the experience for us. First, I don't mind a wait, especially at a good new place. What I do mind is being told it will be 25-30 minutes when it is a little over an hour wait. Overestimate please. It leaves one pleasantly surprised rather than frustrated and antsy. Second, when you spill a tray of mimosas all over someone's table and handbag, clean the effected dishes off of the table and wipe it all up. We were given a pile of paper squares and left to clean most of the mess on the table ourselves and then had a yellow wet floor sign placed right next to us for our whole meal. We were never offered even a free cup of coffee for our trouble. Finally, due to the spill and ensuing chaos, our order was not taken and it took another 30 or so minutes to get our food. We were told it was coming a couple of times only to see all of the tables around us, who were seated after we were, get served. Finally she arrived with our food and, like I said, it was really good but I barely had time to eat because I was already late to a meeting. So again, great food, just not sure it was worth the hassle. Maybe I'll do takeout next time. read more

My family & I waited 2 hours to eat here for breakfast. Once we got inside they had us sit right next to the entrance door. It was cold, they wouldn't move us unless we waited longer for a seat, and the building was poorly built. We will not be returning back to eat here, not to mention, we left and decided to dine elsewhere. read more
