Very helpful and friendly staff! I haven't been snowboarding in 20 years. This thanksgiving weekend I decided to take the kids up for the first time. The staff was very knowledgeable and made me feel comfortable. Prices were very reasonable especially for being the closest board shop to Bear Mountain. The next day we were snowed in and couldn't leave to return the equipment. After calling the shop we spoke to Vince who is the new owner. His continued professional and friend customer service made me feel at ease when he said he would actually drive to my rental cabin to pick it up for me since we were stranded. We come up to big bear during the holiday season and this is the only board shop we will rent from this day forward. Don't waste your time calling all over the place to try and save a dollar. Glad it's under new management. Didn't have the best experience last time but decided to give em another chance. $25 for board package and don't have to wait in that long ass line at Bear. You can grab your coffee at Moonridge next door, then get all setup for the day here. Staff is friendly. Selection is great. Walked in and was greeted by several employees. My son forgot his "Costco helmet" at home and wanted to buy a real snowboard helmet. The female owner (sorry don't know her name) brought him upstairs and showed him several choices and he bought it on the spot. My husband and I needed to rent skis and a snowboard package and the other owner (male) completely took care of us. Fitted us and gave us a discount! We were so happy with the rental price, quality of products and the personal service he gave us. We WILL be returning. They have "hip and up to date brands" I have 5 young snowboarders in my family. Jules is awesome! We showed up late in the evening and asked what their hours were for the next day. The owner of the shop said that she could help me and my family out then so we wouldn't have to wait until the next morning. She and her team made the process so easy and enjoyable. Jules was so helpful and kind in getting us our skiing and snowboarding gear for the next day. And even after closing, she let us come back and get helmets, which we had forgotten. Awesome place! First time coming here, but it was a great experience. The owner was great; I never caught her name but she helped us get our rentals (super quick) and had really nice rental equipment. In fact my rented snowboard was much nicer than the one I own :/ When I mentioned how much I loved the board she even offered to sell it to me for a great price. Overall it was a great and easy experience, and the owner definitely knows her shit AND was super fair/straight forward. Our family took a last-minute trip to Big Bear this past week. We stopped in at Big Bear Boards to check out equipment and such. The staff were friendly and pleasant, knowledgeable about the equipment, and gave us their thoughts on which mountain to ski the following day. We rented demo snowboards and ski equipment and purchased a jacket and pants for our son. Oh, and we purchased chains for our truck...just in case. We ended up purchasing another jacket for my husband the following day. Excellent customer service, great prices. I recommend this family-owned business for your ski/board rental needs in Big Bear. My boyfriend and I went to Big Bear for snowboarding first time. We didn't know this area so we asked friends about their experience. One of my friend recommended this rental shop. And it was really close to the resort. So we decided stop by and rent our equipment for snowboarding. Till the time we came there (it was around 12 p.m.) they run out of regular snowboards, which was 28$, so they offered us sports snowboards for 35$. They also offer 3$ insurance if something happens to your snowboard. The returns was really fast, it took us less than 10 min. Great service! We are going to come here to rent snowboards again next time! read more

My husband went to Big Bear Boards last year looking for a board for himself on his way to snowboard the mountain. He was so impressed with the customer service and feeling like they gave him a great deal! This year when looking for a new board he wanted to go back and again they didn't disappoint. Superb customer service. I was there about two weeks ago with my girlfriend. Long story short, she rented all her gear from Big Bear Boards and then upon her first run, she broke her wrist :( However, Big Bear Boards made things right for her. Also, I forgot my snowboard behind, and the owner took control of the situation and mailed me back my board. We made a last minute trip to big bear to go snowboarding and I failed to check if my bindings would fit my new boots I needed help getting new bindings or new straps... I gotta say that the customer service here was very refreshing!!!Not only did they change out my straps for me (custom) but they made sure that everything was perfectly adjusted and hand waxed my board!!!... These folks helped me out after my cheap craigslist board showed its true colors. Stripped screws, wrong screws, it was stuck in a regular stance (in goofy), compromised bindings, and just a board that was on its way out. Big Bear Boards made my trip with friends a breeze. I checked in online for a 20% off discount, and was able to get a board, boots, jacket, and pants for 2 days for a good price. The location is close to the slopes, and the employees are super friendly, cool and knowledgeable. I even came back to swap my snowboard for skis because I was uncomfortable snowboarding and really had a hard time and just didn't like it. They helped me get squared away and the rest of my trip was amazing. So glad I went to them. read more
