The owners number who doesn't answer at night during emergency situations like ours despite her posted message.
    Vini A.

Completely unprofessional establishment. STAY away and save yourself the troubles. We had a reservation through Expedia for 3 nights, we called the Front desk the day of the reservation to confirm late arrival. Front desk agent gave us instructions that we can obtain the room key after hours from a lock box. The key was not in the lock box. At 1:30am after driving for few hours, being exhausted, there was nobody at the desk, and no key at the lock box. The after hour phone number that was provided of owner Lori was going straight to full voicemail box, so we were unable to reach anyone. It took Expedia 2 additional hours to find us alternative hotel. We ended up checking at 4am elsewhere, and thankfully at a much nicer location with great customer service unlike big bear lake front lodge. I tried reaching to the property directly the following day to speak to someone, and the front desk wouldn't answer mine or my husband's phone calls. When I reached the emergency number at last Lori, the owner picked up and she was so unprofessional, didn't want to hear the situation, kept interrupting , lying that the key was in the lockbox when it wasn't! I have pictures that there was no key in the lockbox, we couldn't check into the room and didn't stay at their location. She kept cutting off stating the key was inside, absolute worst handling of an error on their end! Instead of owning their mistake and saying "we apologize" she proceeded to hung up. We dodged a bullet! Why would we lie that the key is not there, when we had paid through Expedia for the stay and were looking forward to our long weekend stay, especially getting some sleep at 1:30am! Absolute gaslighting, I had never experienced such horrible customer service.

This is the proof that no one was there to chec us in!!! We called but got disrespected instead! it was the owner apparently!

There's a reason for reviews! and im so stupid for not reading them, well i read them after i already booked this shitty lodge, We arrived around 9pm and no one was available to check us in, i called the number posted on the door and was answered by this very rude, very unapologetic, she was sarcastic and shouting as i talk to her and hung up on me. I have never experienced anything like this, the staff finally came after like 30mins and was very nice and apologetic! we didnt go through the reservation! we booked another hotel because of the owner who apparently answers the call! DON't BOOK THIS HOTEL!! THE OWNER IS VERY RUDE ASIDE FROM THE HOTEL THAT IS FALLING APART!!!!

Overbooking and Terrible Customer Service We booked a one-night stay for a lakefront balcony king room with a spa bath. Upon arrival and after completing check-in, we entered a room that was completely different from what we reserved. Instead, we were given a small handicap-accessible room with a full bed and open shower located on the opposite side of the property with no lakefront balcony view. When we spoke with the front desk receptionist -- WHICH TURN OUT TO BE THE OWNER-- she admitted they were fully booked and no longer had the room we originally reserved available. When we asked about a refund or adjustment, she stated there was a strict no-refund policy and claimed there was "only a $10 difference" between the rooms. After reviewing the actual pricing ourselves, we found the difference was closer to $80. It felt incredibly dishonest and misleading. We then contacted Booking.com and began the cancellation/dispute process. After waiting outside for nearly an hour hoping the situation would be resolved, we returned to the front desk to let her know Booking.com had been attempting to contact the property. Instead of trying to help, we were met with hostility and unprofessional behavior. The receptionist became rude, claimed she felt "cornered" and "threatened," and even stated she was going to call the police despite us remaining calm throughout the interaction. This entire experience felt deceptive and extremely poorly handled. No guest should arrive to find out their reserved room was given away and then be pressured into accepting a completely inferior room without proper compensation or accountability. DO NOT STAY HERE. You may be misled, overcharged, and treated poorly when issues arise. The receptionist even mentioned that "third-party bookings take a large portion of the booking price," which only reinforced the feeling that profit mattered more than honoring reservations or treating customers fairly

Big Bear Lake Front Lodge is located on Big Bear Lake and offers a comfortable stay within walking distance of The Village. Room types include king, double queen, suites and even a cabin with various views featuring some type of balcony or patio. There is a private beach/boat dock area, a bbq area, a basketball hoop, and a small kids play area amongst the property. Rooms include a TV, mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, a fireplace and some offer kitchen appliances. Expect a woodsy/cabin/forest like theme that includes artwork, bedding and wall treatments. There seems to only be one parking lot area which may not be adequate enough depending on the season. A friend and I stayed here a couple weeks ago in a double queen garden type view and enjoyed the stay. The room was comfortable with enough amenities to make for an easy stay. There was a patio that was facing other rooms and a kids play area. I thought the bed was comfortable and everything seemed clean enough. The friend was worried about the cleanliness of the room and mentioned several things but after I checked things out it was more than fine for a lodge. It is definitely not very modern and things may seem outdated/worn out in some way, the cleanliness with some aspects might be an issue to some but it should all be all right; expectations are key. One day, front desk/house cleaning even checked on us to see if anything was needed which was nice. We enjoyed easy access to the lake/dock area for some fishing and the easy drive to The Village and other areas to visit various stores, restaurants and a hiking trail we did. During this writing, they seem to have been doing some construction/updates. Nothing that I personally noticed but there seems to be some updates going on. It did not disrupt our stay. Prices were great for this type of establishment. I would come back!

Amazing Lakeside Lodge stay right on the lake in the middle of all the excitement! Great views from room and balcony overlooking the lake. Serene snowfall making it a winter wonderland! The service at the front desk was awesome, very kind. Highly recommend visiting. Can't wait to come back!

I booked thru booking.com but called Lakefront office to confirm reservation, customer service was great, they accommodated my request, and they were also pet friendly, We were a family of 4 plus my dog and the room was perfect, it included small fridge, microwave, and coffee maker which I loved, along with a nice corner fireplace which added a special feel to the room. The room was also clean. The only down side was that they offered a basic breakfast and once they ran out that was it, no more refills, you must make it early enough to make sure you can grab a bite. Either than that we enjoyed our stay Thank You. See you next year.

This is an older establishment, so I knew what to expect. It hasn't been updated in a while, but that's okay as long as it's clean and has a comfortable bed. And it had both. I stayed in room 20 and it was perfect for my needs. Shower also had great pressure. It has a kitchenette with a microwave and super cold fridge. The indoor fireplace was a nice touch. Though I didn't get to enjoy the lake this time around, I like how it has lake access. This place also has a ping pong table and a basketball hoop to shoot around. Though it won't fill you up, they at least have a breakfast on the go with fresh fruits and cereal bars, Coffee, tea and instant oatmeal. WiFi is free. Staff was great as well. Would stay here again.

Attached is the roaches on the shower curtains and broken blinds

horrible customer service . rushing me to ask questions . when I arrived the GM told me to wait outside the office because she was in a call ,it was 40 degree weather . I was like you serious it's freezing out there! I had to leave before the check out date because the room had roaches , missing blinds , dirty . I was saddened for the lousy hotel I booked . Big bear lake is a beautiful place , but this hotel experience are horrible !! And expensive !!

We had an incredible experience at Big Bear Lake Front Lodge From the moment I arrived, Louie went above and beyond to ensure my stay was perfect. The check-in process was smooth, and the service was impeccable throughout my visit. The room was spotless, beautifully designed, and equipped with all the amenities I could ask for. The bed was incredibly comfortable. I will definitely come back here

As someone who visits Big Bear at least three times a year, Lake Front Lodge is our go to spot. We have stayed at numerous Big Bear locations over the years, and this has become our home away from home these past two years. When choosing a hotel, yes price does come into play, but the most important thing is closeness to our destination (it is within walking distance of the village), comfort, cleanliness and customer service. Lake Front Lodge never disappoints. This weekend we came up to celebrate one of my daughters' birthdays and as usual, we were able to check in on time, the room was clean and comfortable, and Louie and staff were welcoming and helpful. Sure there are 5 star hotels out there, but they rarely give you that 'at home' feel. Looking forward to our next visit!

We booked a room at Big Bear Lakefront Lodge for a family Christmas vacation. First of all, the bathroom sink was clogged and smelled terrible, so that we couldn't sleep all night. We sprayed a whole bottle of perfume to make it at least a little bearable. We had to wash our hands and face in the kitchen sink which was disgusting. Since they knew already that the room was booked, it had to be fixed beforehand. Next, you might not believe it, but they only left a half of hand-cut scotch for washing the dishes Then, they had recently done some conversation and there was dust everywhere. Just arrived and tired of driving, we decided to enjoy the view of the lake while drinking our coffee on the balcony; however, the chairs were buried in a layer of dust, so that my husband and I had to clean them to use. And the last but not least was the horrible WiFi connection which got disconnected on and off giving me hard time completing my remote job today. By the way, if you decided to book a room here, don't forget to bring your shampoo hand soap On the top all all, the awful room the front desk person was really disrespectful and talked to me like playing and clinging to the words. I will never recommend it to anybody

From the moment we walked into Sierra Blue Hotel & Swim Club, we knew we picked the right place. The aesthetic is incredible -- vintage charm from the original Thundercloud Lodge blended perfectly with modern, rustic chic design. Thoughtful artwork, cozy textures, and designer-inspired rooms make it feel stylish yet warm. It's a full-service hotel right in the heart of the Village -- one short block to the lake, shops, and restaurants (and right across from the bowling alley). Easy parking and EV charging available, which is a huge bonus. Janet, Maddie, and Louie greeted us and were absolutely amazing. Genuine, welcoming, and thoughtful. They even gifted us complimentary mugs and were so kind to our son, giving him a patch for his jacket or hat. That kind of hospitality stands out. And the freshly baked s'mores cookies? Unreal. Warm, gooey, perfectly toasted marshmallow and melted chocolate. Honestly better than DoubleTree cookies -- and yes, even better than the famous Disney park cookies. They're that good. Spotless room, beautiful Village views, pet-friendly, incredible service, and an unbeatable location. Five stars without hesitation. We'll absolutely be back -- especially for those cookies.

It was a double queen, I went back and informed the front desk and they didn't see my reservation details. Luckily I did have my confirmation email, first they claimed to not see the details of the room and I literally had to show him where to look in the email for the room. He switched out my room for a king size but it had NO fireplace, strike 1. They charged for parking which wasn't in the detail when I booked the room. And if you have a EV car it better be a Tesla( they should provide an adapter for none Tesla cars if I'm paying for parking). Strike 2. There was barely hot water when we took a shower. It was barely warm and we had to double up on the shower. Then this evening 7/28/26 the hot tube was broken with a paper sign saying "out of order" then went back to the room to maybe watch something on their television and the WiFi was down! Strike 3! Here is the thing, don't promise amenities if you can't provide them, and dismiss the guest when asked about it. When I book a hotel anywhere i look for specific things and if your establishment isn't able to provide it then you must accommodate. I won't be booking at this location again. The only good thing is that it's close to the village.

We chose a room with a kitchenette, and even for our short stay, it was a great convenience. Service is a little hit or miss. When we arrived our room was a bit stuffy so we tried to use the thermostat, which kept indicating a low battery. We called the front desk and the man who answered hesitantly said they'd tell maintenence. On our way out for dinner, we stopped by the front desk to remind them of our request and it was the same person who answered the phone. He was surprised and scrambled to find a sticky note to write it down. After all of that, we come back to the room to a note that it's been "fixed." The A/C and heat are controlled on the unit by the window itself, not the thermostat. So why not say that the two times we asked about it? However, I was disappointed that the bathroom in Room 363 already had some maintenance issues. The toilet was loose and wobbled every time we used it, and the shower handle was also loose and moved around when adjusting the water temperature. For a newer property, I expected these basic fixtures to be in better condition. The complimentary breakfast was a simple American-style breakfast with a few hot items, which was convenient but nothing particularly special. Overall, the hotel has great potential because it's clean and well maintained in general, but the maintenance issues in our room definitely affected our experience. Hopefully, management will address these problems soon, as this could easily be a 4 star stay with better attention to detail.

He took the time to explain all of the hotel's amenities and made sure we knew about all the fun extras, including Taco Tuesday, movie night for the kids with s'mores, the fire pits, and even the unique beer tap in the lobby that guests can access with their room key. Thanks to Joel, we got to enjoy so much more than just a hotel stay. We had a bit of a rough start to our trip when one of my children got carsick on the drive up. Joel immediately stepped in with cleaning supplies and genuine kindness and concern. His compassion and willingness to help meant so much to me as a mom traveling with two kids. Since my husband was in town for work and couldn't help us the entire time, I was handling the kids on my own and wasn't very prepared for our last-minute trip. Joel went above and beyond to accommodate our needs and helped arrange a room closer to the entrance, which made a huge difference for us. The hotel itself was fantastic. Everything was spotless, the indoor pool was amazing, and the outdoor fire pits and s'mores nights created such a fun family atmosphere. My kids had an incredible time, and we enjoyed our stay so much that we decided to extend it for another night and spend another beautiful day in the mountains. Joel's exceptional customer service truly made this trip special. He is caring, attentive, and genuinely dedicated to making guests feel welcome. It was huge and the water was always super hot and the shower was hot right when I got out of the tub. A little soap goes a very long way with bubbles, proceed with caution. The room and the spa were very clean, there was a sticker on the door with the name of the person and the date that our room was sanitized which was reassuring to me. Once inside it smelled clean and everything looked clean. I did take a bottle of Odoban and did a once over but it was during COVID paranoia. Whenever I stay anywhere I strip the bed and put on my own sheets and blanket but when tearing the bed apart our white linens were very white and clean. I read reviews about a rouge hair or two and myself having very long dark hair I find it silly that it would be a huge deal, even in the most immaculate environment one is bound to pop up, trust me, I know but I understand with COVID everyone needs to be on top of their game with cleanliness. I found the location to be really convenient, it was close to everything we wanted to do. We had several exchanges with the owner, we checked in after midnight and she was friendly and professional. Since we were both working remotely due to COVID we decided we wouod like to stay another night if they could accommodate us and she was very courteous and made the process easy and that extra night actually turned into 3 extra nights! I suppose one could find the rooms dated, I personally felt like they were cute and cozy and felt cabin like,I didn't mind the decor at all. We stayed in cabin 16, I was able to scope out 17 and has been updated recently and is more modern. They both cost the same so I would probably go with 17 it's really the best bang for your buck. Finding our cabin at night was fairly difficult if you are able to check in during the day I would definitely say do that. We eventually found our cabin, they all look the same and aren't marked terribly well. The parking is a bit tight I came straight from buying a new fairly expensive car so I had to park a few different times until I was satisfied I would avoid a door ding but that was probably new car paranoia and if you don't arrive after midnight like a dummy you'll probably have a better chance at choice parking. Once in the cabin I saw there was one of those QR codes on the wall for you to scan and when you do they offer a coupon code that can't be applied retroactively of course so I was kinda bummed by that because it only required a 3 day stay to receive the discount and we stayed over twice that long so perhaps it could have been offered. I found it online as well so before you book look online for coupon codes because they're available. I found booking straight from their website was less expensive than Expedia and the other travel sites. For the price I think this place is unbeatable. Just when you thought I was going to shut up I pop back up... I forgot to mention that one night a family checked into one of the family cabins and they were out until after 10 pm and they were loud eventually I called Cathy at the number she provides for you to call if you need anything and within 5 minutes she had sent someone to take care of the issue. I'm not sure if any of the cabins are pet friendly but I know that the one we stayed in was not and that was really the biggest issue we had. I have a 4 pound Yorkie with separation anxiety and he's grown quite accustomed to going everywhere with me so we had to hire a pet sitter and I really missed my Lil guy! I wish they allowed pets of a certain size with a deposit. Other than that I can't wait until it's time to go back. We went in the last week of April for my birthday and the weather was perfect. Not too cold but you still definitely get that mountain experience and since it's the off season everything is very affordable. We complained and was told that they had the right to change us. It's not in their written policies anywhere. This room was substandard, especially to the one we actually booked. The mini blind were threaded, broken and dirty the table was beat up and not stable, the cost rack was in front of the window. And was not stable to move plus that was the only place to hang clothing. No drawers The mini sofa at the end of the bed was torn and poked your behind if you sat on it. I absolutely loved that there was a spot to do yoga or other movement classes! If you want to do a complete wellness day, you can take your mat to this beautiful open deck area (where your mat is shaded) and you have some mirrors. Once you finish your class, there's a sauna and cold plunge available to use to complete the perfect session! I didn't get to use the lodge much as I was visiting solo this time, but would love to use that nice big kitchen and the pool table next time This place is not super big, so everything is very walkable and in close proximity to each other! You can drive, walk, or even ride your bike to other restaurants and activities near by if you aren't too busy playing corn hole or lounging in the hammocks

Frank, the owner, is one of those rare people who is truly hands-on and genuinely cares about his guests. From the moment we arrived, he was communicative, kind, and incredibly attentive. You can tell this isn't just a business to him -- it's personal. What really stood out was his integrity. During our January stay, he went above and beyond to make sure our family was comfortable and taken care of, and he generously invited us back again in February. That level of hospitality and follow-through is something you just don't see often anymore. The space itself is peaceful, cozy, and perfect for a Big Bear getaway, but honestly, it's Frank's heart and character that make the place special. If you're looking for somewhere you can trust -- not just a place to sleep -- this is it. We'll definitely be back.
