I would absolutely recommend staying here, cozy and quaint within walking distance to the village, our room was called Love Letter and had a gorgeous view of the lake, total of 9 rooms with ample parking gives you a feeling of staying at home rather than a hotel or Inn. Gail the manager, who has been there for only three months, was very nice and friendly and accepted us like family, they have their lobby filled with all sorts of snacks, coffee, tea, assorted fruits, fresh and delicious apples from the trees, chips, cereal and more, all open to the guests 24/7, she had even made homemade acorns with chocolate kiss on top, were delicious, all in all a great getaway, for sure a gem to be discovered.

The whole experience was great. Booking was super easy, pricing for the area was quite reasonable and then the actual space was super cute and fun. We stayed in the "Love Letter" room which had a fantastic view of the lake. The style was, as noted by previous reviewers, Victorian and beautifully done. We were greeted by Chris and given a tour of the spaces available to us which included a kitchenette stocked with snacks and goodies (midnight cereal, YES!), a wide selection of DVDs and board games. The room had a little fireplace, lounge room, large bathroom (no bathtub) and a super cozy bed. The ONLY thing that was less than perfect as that the blanket was a tiny stuffy smelling. We very much enjoyed this B&B. Be sure to check out the Belgian Waffle and the Village just across the way.

We arrived on a hot August afternoon around 2:30 PM (Check in time is listed as between 2PM and 5PM). When we arrived, the lobby door was locked. There was no note on the door and no employees to be found anywhere on the property. Called the Inn phone number a couple times and was transferred to voice mail. It was as if the Inn was closed for the summer or out of business. Waiting for a call back, we decided to go to a restaurant to get out of the heat. After an hour or so, and no call back, we drove back to the Inn to see if it was open. It was not. Several more calls to the Inn again to be transferred to voice mail each time. It was now 5PM and after walking around the property banging on doors and windows, we could find no one to talk to and started calling around to find another place to stay the night. As we were on the phone with the nearby Saddleback Inn, about to confirm a new reservation, an older man appeared on a balcony, looking like he just woke up. We assumed he was a guest and asked if he knew where the Inn keeper was. He then came out asked our name and showed us to our room. No apology, no offer of compensation for our inconvenience, nothing! Just "here is your room." In hindsight, we should have demanded a refund and continued with our booking at the Saddleback Inn. We have never received such terrible service and will never stay here again. COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE LACK OF CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!

5th Star for the Owner and Housekeeper…read more 1. Is the glass half empty or is the glass half full? 2. You get what you paid for.... and then some Here is my story. Chasing snow, I end up in the San Bernadino Mountains, trying to conquer Big Bear Mountain or Snow Valley or Snow Summit. I had several choices including a 2 hour one way commute from Los Angeles. I chose to stay-cay but then came the question of where? Well, I could stay in the Redlands, making my drive 1.5 hours one way. Or I could get closer to the mountain resorts making my commute 1 hour one way. Regardless of the choice, the commute to/fr the resorts can be arduous. I chose to stay in Lake Arrowhead making my commute 20 minutes one way to Snow Valley. I read the reviews and all I can say is use my glass half empty half full theory and that you get what you paid for .... and then some. For the price! The service was extraordinary. Owner Roscoe suffered some health issues in recent years but he still has the spirit of being a hotelier. Unlike hotels or inns where you have to leave a credit card deposit, you don't have to do it here. You do however have to pay for your room in advance to which a refund will be given if you cancel 24 hours in advance of your checkin. Issy, the wife of Hotelier Rosco is also the housekeeper. She will check you into your room and give you a quick tour of the property and amenities. She is really the star of the property. Oh OK Wait! The stars of the property are their 2 pet racoons. So tame and cute and big. You can tell they are fed well and are treated well. (one of the racoons stood outside my room door and did not try to enter my room or go away until i shut the door) Right off the highway and across the street from the Lake Arrowhead Village is Fleur De Lac; a quaint medieval decor mansion with about 6 rooms; each with its own bathroom and individual decor. A definite must try if you're in the area. (I used booking.com and was not steered wrong)

The lobby entrance to the inn was nice and old school but the coffee pot, and mini fridge with the milks and stuff was super dirty. They gotta really take the time to wipe it all down. I travel quite a bit for work which requires me to stay in hotels regularly. For how long this place has been around, I feel like the condition of the rooms and cleanliness is on par with most places that are getting to the point of needing those bigger renovations and updates. Hotels can only do so much in terms of piecemeal repairs and updates, and anything near water tends to get battered by the elements a little bit more than other places. I look forward to the dock repairs, so I can get back to catching bluegill, crappie, trout, and bass with my boy. A lot of great memories here. I hope to keep them coming.

I have dreamed…read moreabout getting married here for over 10 years after my favorite high school English teacher told me she got married here. Dreams really do come true, and I had the vintage wedding of my dreams! Carrie, Sam, Jillian, and everyone at Christmas House are now like family to us. All of our guests absolutely loved our wedding and the house, and said what a unique and cool venue it is. A lot of them said it was the best wedding they have ever been to and are still talking about it a year later. I wanted something completely different and personal compared to a country club, golf club, or hotel since I have been to so many weddings. Since we were planning from out of state, we also liked that so many things were included such as cake, DJ, etc. I loved that we had the whole place to ourselves for the whole wedding weekend and got to do the pizza party and overnight stay, as well as breakfast which was some of my favorite food of the weekend! I particularly recommend the quiche! We had some of our bridal party stay with us and they loved it. It was nice to spend some personal time with them before we jetted off to our honeymoon. Also military wives and brides: they have a military discount! I also loved that the Christmas House team worked well with our wedding planner Nicole at Olivar events. Our photos and videos also came out so wonderfully. Orlando the photographer and videographer (sorry forgot his name) made me feel like a queen and really helped with their calm vibes since I was anxious before the ceremony. I even asked for more footage now a year later and they obliged. They are awesome! I had a lot of stress leading up to the wedding including my original dress being ruined one month before and family drama. The whole team were literal angels in helping me navigate all of this and I'm actually really glad I wore my second dress because it was a warm June wedding and my second dress was much lighter and went better with our vintage theme! I believe everything works out for a reason in according to God's plan. I have never felt so happy and so loved as on my wedding day by my husband, family and friends, and our friends at the Christmas House. I would truly give the Christmas House 4.8 stars and only change two things about the wedding: I will say the food was delicious, and our cake that was included from Cucamonga Cakery was pretty and delicious. However, the only negative feedback we had from guests was that the plates of food were a little small. This may be a Spaggi's (their exclusive caterer for our sit down package) issue, and I would recommend it be closer to the tasting size. For myself, I would have slowed down getting ready and taken some more amazing photos around the bridal suite, the house's stained glass windows, and stairs, and I may still go back and do it as Carrie suggested! However, I am giving myself some grace as the wedding morning was very busy. Thank you, Christmas House for making me feel the most beautiful I have ever felt, and for celebrating our love with us on our very special day. It was a dream come true, and we will be back to visit soon! Love, Ty and Dorothy
