If you're in the area it's a worth a stop and they have triple points going on if you're looking for allocated bottles. So for every dollar you spend you get 3 points. Kat came to my rescue and made several excellent choices for my family. Ended up buying bottles of wine from the Abbey Winery too. Selection is decent for a small town but it seems like there is a lot of bait and switch tactics going on. They'll post something on Facebook to come down and purchase only to find out when you get there that there is a caveat (you can only purchase said items if you purchase something else or you can only get said item at a certain price if you buy something else which was not mentioned ANYWHERE on the social media post) and then when you get to the store, they don't explain those caveats well. Was told "This item (Blanton's Gold) is $219, with a case of wine" when they actually meant 'if you purchase a case of wine, you can get this item for only $219'. And of course you don't find that out until you get to the register so you are kind of stuck. The person I was with plus friends/family I have asked what they thought when they heard "with a case of wine" thought the same thing I did - you get a free case of wine if you buy this item. Doubled checked with the owner after my total was twice as much as I expected it to be because she didn't explain things clearly and was told, "well, you don't have to buy it, but you won't find it cheaper for $1,000 anywhere else", which is not true. The employee ringing me up had no idea about this "deal" and had to call somebody else over to help. The owner also told me that an employee sold a bottle on Blanton's Gold earlier for $60 - clearly they do not communicate with their employees well. Wound up spending $480 total for a case of wine (mix and match) and the $219 Blanton's Gold only to find out later that I could have gotten that item for less than $300 somewhere else. Also, one of the wine bottles I got was skunked. So they took advantage of this sucker once, but I will never shop there again. read more

We came in since it seemed like they just opened. Great selection and friendly gals that work. Parking lot is interesting to say the least. Pros: Friendly staff. What is up with all these friendly places today?? They seemed to want to help and was able to answer questions, even admitting when they didn't know the answer. I walkes to the counter to ask a question, and though they were talking, they both dropped their conversation to help. Store was very well stocked and still had the new store smell. Not sure how this smell would linger from early last year when it wasn't open yet. We asked about a law enforcement discount and yes they have one. Without hesitation we were given it. Also, even though I didn't buy anything, I was still asked for an idea. Cons: Low selection of sake and a confusing parking lot. Recommended? Yes. I don't know how others gave it bad reviews, but we had a great time. Even found a wine to try. read more

I love the store, however the counter staff is hit and miss. There have been times they are very courteous, and other times when they give almost a conceited, entitled attitude. Most recently, I walked in the store and noticed two employees talking. One was wearing a covid-19 mask, the other was not. When I saw the still maskless employee a couple of minutes later, I asked her where her mask was. She was clearly working, carrying bottles, but told in a very arrogant way, me she was getting off! That shouldn't have mattered, it's the law to wear a mask in Colorado indoors. This isn't the first time I've encountered the "conceited, entitled" attitude. I left a message for the owner to call twice. I never received a return call! I am a big supporter of supporting local business, but should I go back? I'd love to have a response on this............. read more

I frequent Big Bear often, and I've always been impressed by friendly, courteous staff. I was disappointed by one, busy staffer this evening. I asked her a question, which she answered. By the time I got to the cashier she called him on his headphone. I'm not too old or stupid, yet, to realize that the call was about me. Big Bear is my happy place. It's like a candy story for adults. Adults who like to drink nice things. Huge selection of any kind of libation you could ever want, and a really great staff who can give you recommendations on just about any product or point you in the direction of a coworker who can. I really like that it's newer and always super clean. Call me bougie, but I really don't care for tiny, cramped, dingy spaces that seem to be the norm for liquor stores. In my opinion the best Liqueur store in Pueblo. No i don't live in Pueblo but every time i visit, i make it a point to come in here and grab something for our family gathering. The interior is clean and modern with cool decorative touches that aren't over the top. They have a beer cave that is super cold, making it kind of hard to pick something out with out becoming unconformable. So i recommend having an idea of what you want to get before you go in there. As far as selection goes they have a great variety of local and out of state spirits, beers, and wines. They also carry this alcohol infused ice cream that is super rich and decadent. Prices are standard for what you have come to expect for quality products. read more

I got a coupon on the app on Super Bowl Sunday. It was for 15% off. It did not say anything about delivery only. When I got there, I was told it was for delivery only, so I said I'd use my $5 off on my account. I looked up the coupon and showed the employee that it said "at checkout" and not delivery. I was then told "you couldn't use it anyways, because you used the $5 off." I explained I only used the $5 off when told I couldn't have the 15% off. This looks like a lie to me. They just lost a customer. This is not the first time they offered discounts and didn't honor them. read more

I visited the store today and attempted to buy a four-pack of Redstone's apricot mead which I have previously purchased for twenty-something dollars. When a sales associate directed me to the single cans which cost over ten dollars each, I asked if the price was correct. The manager came over, checked, and said it was correct so I declined the purchase, mentioning that I had previously bought the four-pack for less than thirty dollars. To this he rudely replied: "Well, it must have been marked wrong before, I'm gonna have to charge you for the mead you got free last time". To this, I say "Good luck with that sale Big Bear, you won't be seeing me or anyone who will listen to me again". I've been an avid customer since shortly after they opened, they do have a good selection. But one obstinate salesperson, a manager no less, who takes their own mistakes out on their customers is all it takes to send my business elsewhere. A great wine store for Pueblo! Not as inexpensive nor as large as Applejack in the Denver area, but it is here! We have been shopping there since just after opening, and have found the staff--and management--to be friendly and *very* helpful. I cannot comment on the beer cave, as I cannot drink beer. The liquor collection seems unbelievably complete, and the wine section is wonderful. We have on occasion (many occasions) made special orders which were completed quickly with no fuss. AND there was a 10% case discount on them. Great place. read more

Huge selection, even had a rare beer I'd been looking for for some time. After finding that one, I wanted to try something new. Jacob put together 12 beers for me to try, and so far they've been excellent. I'm glad Big Bear has knowledgeable people on staff. We've been to Big Bear about four times, each time spending over $400 on a stock-up purchase (we live down by Ft. Garland), biggest ticket was $735. At no time were we offered a volume discount, which is common for large purchases in nicer stores (we obviously know this, because we make large purchases). Big Bear has some of the least knowledgeable and least interested staff we've encountered across the country, who seem to know absolutely nothing about the intricacies of their business, the whiskey market, or the wine market. They seem to have hired college kids who are content to clerk the store, and who refuse to, or incapable of engaging with their customers on any level. For a store with a decent selection and a very good beer room, Big Bear has the least effective staff we've encountered. Last trip for us, a $435 ticket, sorry. read more

I went to my local liquor store (I wont mention the name) and just before Thanksgiving they "forgot" to order my favorite wine, so I went up the road to Big Bear and WOWZA talk about amazing, as soon as I walked in a sales clerk asked if I needed help, he pointed out my favorite wine, showed me to the wine tasting area where they had BUG JUICE Mascato which I purchased too...then the sales clerk at the front desk...shoot all of them were -super friendly! This place has so many items to choose from- I signed up for their REWARDS card (yeah thats pretty cool too!) and now I tell every one about them and next time I get a hankering for my favorite wine the ONLY place Im going is Big Bear- awesome store!!!!!
