That's when this gem came to fruition. It's wonderful bbq. It breaks away from the norm while staying true to bbq's roots. Offers a lil something for everyone. From amazing grilled vegetables to half fscks if ribs that remind you of the Flintstones when frede csr gets flipped over by the sheer side and weight of said slab of meat. Sauces along with literally EVERY SINGLE THING aside frombtgr breads and chips, are made from scratch, in house, beauty or as needed. Everything is rubbed by hand, and smoked in house until the meat trashforms into pure mouth watering gold. Perfect consistent "bark" ring and amazing juiciness sets Deans BBQ a part from woo if the locals and even Mission BBQ aka the Corporate boys. They have ok bbg for a chain but still doesn't beat the freshness and quality that sets Deans a part from everyone else. Nothing goes to waste. Whole pigs are bought and 90% of it gets processed into BBQ better than any around town. This BBQ is brought up in discussions about whos is best and compared with legendary Frankie's BBQ before the new generation took it over after the original pit boss fell ill due to old age. Frankie's before the change? Was the best around and now it isn't and the crown has been passed to Deans. Prized pig? Crap. Fat Cap? Almost good. Mission? For corporate? Not that bad. Smokin fatties, Mike Blowin Smoke outta Michigan are 2 others mentioned and I can vouch for Mike and say that his BBQ is amongst some of the best I've ever had. But there's no venue. No storefront set in stone. He more or less goes to local events, usually the cannabis events in Michigan, hence the name. Deans still takes the win in my opinion which is and has been shared with plenty of locals. I never heard of Deans until this year. And now I know why. Too much of a good thing? Usually goes bad. And nobody that goes here on the regular? Wants the goodness to ever end. So they keep it their secret. Their Achilles Heel when it's their turn to bring food for game night. Best Mac n cheese around and this is coming from someone that DOES NOT EVER BUY premade Mac and cheese because nine times outta ten? It's going to be super dry crap. Kfc Mac? Crap. Popeyes? Crap. Most local places native to the area that have been around forever? Crapola. Deans? The frikkin bees knees. This is already way to long and if anyone made it this far, must mean y'all are committed. So come and commit that same energy to Granger Indiana and grab some of the best BBQ this area has to offer since the legendary days of the original Frankie's BBQ. Thanks.

The rice was overcooked, The smoked chicken was tasteless but good portion. It wasn't cooked all the way through so we had to bring it home and put it in the air fryer. The side portions were pathetic and its not worth the money at all. Totally disappointed. I didn't want to give one star because thats pushing it. Customer service was good, she was cool. Other than that Its a hell to the no!!! As of right now I don't feel well after eating the food. For $40 and we were still hungry, what a waste of time and money. Definitely won't be returning.

I arrived in town earlier than expected after a 3-hour drive and was looking for something to eat…read moreand drink. Unfortunately, options were limited--mostly fast food and a few pubs that were closed at the time. This restaurant was open, so I decided to give it a shot. The place was nearly empty, aside from a few locals. It's a surprisingly large space, which only made the emptiness more noticeable. The tap list was underwhelming--mostly domestics like Bud and Busch, along with a heavy focus on IPAs (not my thing). I ended up ordering a Corona, but it was clearly skunked, likely from sitting too long--suggesting slow turnover and possibly overstocked inventory. I ordered the half rack of ribs with baked beans and their corn coleslaw. Unfortunately, the meal was disappointing. The ribs were lukewarm, dry, and lacked flavor. No BBQ sauce was brushed on or offered--which is surprising for a BBQ joint. The beans tasted canned, and the corn coleslaw, while creative in concept, just didn't work in execution. No pickles, no bread, no condiments--nothing to round out the plate. I get that this is a small town, but when you're the only BBQ spot around, there's a real opportunity to stand out. Sadly, this place missed the mark. I don't like leaving below-average reviews, but in this case, I had to be honest.
