Second time going there, I was so disappointed. I got the pork chop with Mac and cheese,collard greens and they added rice and gravy. Pork chop was so dry,fried too hard. The food was good. It felt like they played it safe. It was seasoned just enough to give it flavor but it could have used just a pinch more. But at the same time, I appreciated it this way instead of having it overly seasoned or not seasoned at all. It was a bit of a wait, maybe 20 minutes, so by the time I got my food I started digging in before snapping a pic, lololol! My faves were the Mac n cheese and cornbread. Add a veggie plate option to the menu would give it balance. If they have veggie / meatless options, pardon me for overlooking it. I chat with a few regulars who swear by the cabbage and tell me they eat here weekly. I'm looking forward to my next visit to try more options. This is take out only. Tik tok brought me here! This food had my hotel room smelling like some good ol down home soul food. The spot is small and they only allow three customers inside at a time for safety reasons. Everything was delicious! I got the 10 pcs drumettes in garlic parm sauce. Fried perfectly, very tastefully seasoned and not salty. The Mac n cheese was delish as well as the yams, which weren't over seasoned with nutmeg and cinnamon. I'm not a lemon pepper fan but those wings were divine and right on time! I saw this place on Uber eats and decided to go there because I had never heard of it. The menu looked great and the prices were even better. We ordered the pig feet with 3 sides (rice, macaroni and cheese and collards) , fried chicken with three sides (double macaroni and cheese and Lima beans), extra corn bread, lemon pepper wings with fries, pound cake and lemonade. The customer service was great. The lady taking orders was very friendly and helpful. All of the food was hot and fresh. Everything was seasoned well. The pound cake was okay. The lemonade was really good. I will definitely be back. I would recommend ordering the fried chicken macaroni and cheese and cornbread. I felt like these were the best items out of everything we ordered. Decided to visit big bones before starting a diet because I really want some amazing soul food and based upon previous reviews I've heard that the food was amazing. Parking at the establishment is decent, but this is not the place with all the bells and whistles. it's literally standing room for three people to order their food and then waiting in your car while it's prepared. customer service at establishment was decent and the lady at the front make sure to get all the details for your food. I got the turkey dinner with white rice, cheese and yams. Everything was a 10 out except the 10 mac & cheese. I give that 8 out of 10. The yams and the turkey wings or some of the best I have ever had so good and smelt so amazing that I forgot to take a photo that was my first time visiting big bone, but I assure it will not be my last this is really your soul cooking, thank you it was very nostalgic to me and took me back to my grandmother's kitchen! read more

This place is one of the few remaining places here in Columbia where you can get down home soul food that tastes as good as grandma used to make.Delicious and comforting. They have a few menu items like pigs feet that are hard to find in a restaurant. The service is friendly. It's takeout only. read more

The food tasted GREAT! We had the stewed pig feet, and I must say it was very tender and tasty. There was no hair on the pig feet. We also had the baked turkey wings and it was outstanding. The sides were just as good (collard greens, potato salad, lima beans Black Eyed Peas, mac & cheese, and cabbage.). Really enjoyed the sweet potato pie too. We will be going back there. read more

So I drove from Atlanta Georgia early Friday morning to take my guy to Myrtle Beach this would be our first time so it was perfect to take a road trip do some sightseeing and eat some good food. We had just about 2 hours left before our destination when we stopped at a McDonald's to use the bathroom and possibly get something to eat. Well before we could order anything a couple of workers and a supervisor was talking about soul food and my guy came out just in time to hear the conversation so we like what's the name and where is located Big Bones and it was 10 minutes from where we were at let's go. We get there and it didn't look busy but it was well worth the wait. Ms. Cupcake if that's her real name reminded me so much of a friend of mines in Georgia she was just as sweet and funny and told us after we eat we gonna need a nap I'm excited because I love food and I love to eat good food so it is only right that I write this review and post my pics. I ordered smothered turkey wing with rice and gravy with Mac'n'cheese and greens my guy got two smothered pork chops yams and mac'n'cheese the cornbread yup I ate my whole slice of cornbread food was freshly prepared and cooked to order and my mouth is watering just thinking about it. If anyone ever takes a road trip to South Carolina please check out Big Bone's in Columbia South Carolina trust me you won't be disappointed super shocked no one is writing reviews about this place. If that was a restaurant they would be jamming all day but it's takeout only but when I say we sat in that parking lot stuffing our faces we had to force ourselves to close the top to the food so we could continue our trip but I wasn't going to let this spot not get its recognition for some good ole soul food and southern hospitality and great customer service thanks to the McDonald's workers for the recommendation I'll be back my next trip to South Carolina read more

I have been to Columbia 7 times this year...this place came highly recommended. I'm giving it 1 because it is never open. I went today 8/4/23, and a sign posted saying they would be closed until 8/9. Loved the food. I had the smothered pork chop, collards, cabbage, cornbread dressing and red velvet cake. All were very tasty and not to much salt or too much grease. The pork chop wasn't dry and the seasoning in the veggies was to perfection. I had never had stuffing with boiled egg in it but it worked! I would that they had a place to dine in, but the service was great. By observing the owner and the cashiers with their customers I could see the genuine joy they had for their customers and the food they served. Additionally, the service by this Mom/Pop & Kids establishment is warm, considerate, and detailed. They go out of their way to be kind... which is rare.
