    Beans and Mac

With ample parking, attentive service, and both indoor and patio seating, this Texas style BBQ joint (wood fired smoker) is definitely worth a visit. We started with the excellent house made onion rings before moving on to brisket, and both brisket and pork belly burnt ends. Like other reviewers, we found the brisket dry and flavorless, and the burnt ends were both overdone and in need of sauce. The highlight of the visit was the sides-- outstanding beans and mac 'n cheese, but the real star of the show is the Brussels sprouts. You do not want to pass on this dish!

What a surprise to find in Hanover... Came here for my dad's birthday and got right in, even though they looked really busy. Everyone was very satisfied with their food, lots of flavor!! I had the brisket sandwich - very moist, went well with their spicy bbq sauce Wife - had the Cubano, very filling. Flavor explosion. Kid - had the kids ribs and said they were delicious. Nice big parking lot, be prepared to wait. They get busy during lunch and dinner.

Came on Father's Day the the service was excellent even with how busy it was. The picture with the pull pork was a 1/2 lb order. Plenty big. Brisket melt was great. Other sides we got were mac and cheese, brussel sprouts, and house fries! Cool atmosphere with outdoor seating and indoor family seating. Full size bar.

I was really excited about finding another BBQ place that I hadn't known about before. Maybe I've just become too picky or maybe Sunday isn't the best time time to go but I was very disappointed. The ribs were warmish and dry and lacked the smoky flavor I was hoping for. The fries were outstanding but more ketchup would have been helpful. The place seem to copy Famous Dave's with a roll of paper towels and sauces on the table. For some reason the staff seemed unhappy and unfortunately it expressed itself as rudeness to us as customers. I'm sorry to say that I felt like our experience was a big dud.

A tray of meat! Pulled chicken, pulled pork, beef brisket, and a small order of fries

Really great first experience. Stopped in with my family today after a visit to a nearby playground. We were so hungry, and the portions did not disappoint! The kiddos got cheeseburger sliders, and mac & cheese, and the hubby and I created a tray of meats. We had a quarter pound of the pulled chicken, a quarter pound of the beef brisket, and a half pound of the pulled pork. We also got their barbecue baked beans, which had a ton of chunks of meat in them (this was my absolute favorite part of the meal) and a side of fries with seasoned sour cream. The meats were all tasty, but the chicken was my favorite. Service was quick and friendly, we got our food fast, and the environment was casual and relaxed. There's a ton of seating, inside and outside. We will definitely be coming back and bringing my parents next time.

The Fat Back Mac & Cheese. YUM!!

OMG I'm in BBQ heaven and this is Minnesota! I was blown away when we drove up and I saw the size of the place and then couldn't believe my eyes when we walked past the BBQ pits, freaking huge. The interior makes you feel like your standing somewhere in Texas with an equally big outside area. It was a Friday night and the place was rocking the hostess told us 1.5 hours and we were happy to wait since they have a big bar and lots of craft beers on tap as well as a good variety craft cocktails. As we walked to the bar 4 people got up and we snagged so seats at the bar and were able to order dinner at the bar. Bonus! OK Let's talk food. It was off the hook. They have a huge variety of BBQ meats, sandwiches and with Tex Mex options. As soon as I sa the Fat Back Mac & Cheese I had to have it. It's chopped brisket, pulled pork and bacon to our House Made magic, then some bacon & a fried egg on top. The portion was more than I could eat and the flavor was perfect with juicy pulled pork & tender brisket. Can't wait to go back.

Big Bore Barbecue was beyond delicious for dinner tonight. The closest to genuine BBQ from Texas that I've found in MN! Everything was delicious from the ribs, to the cheese curds, to the brussel sprouts and the burnt ends. The service was beyond friendly and helpful with ordering and suggestions! The inside is a super fun vibe, open and lots of tables inside and outside. You gotta check this place out!!

Great barbecue spot! I got the root beer float cocktail and it was fantastic. The big burrito was huge and had so much meat in it. (Crazy, but maybe too much meat). Very reasonably priced as well.

Could it be the best BBQ in Minnesota? In the little town of Hanover lies a hidden gem... But I think the secret is out because the place was packed. Great atmosphere, energy and casual family vibe. They have a great outdoor covered patio as well that really adds another amazing element. The smells guaranteed that no matter what you ordered it was going to to delicious. Order: Brussel sprouts with bacon. If all vegetables were prepared like this kids would never complain again. Crispy, smokey sweet and savory. A must order. Pork belly burnt ends. Just perfect texture contrast between the tender crispy pork and rendered fat that just melted in your mouth. Your choice of the three house BBQ sauces available on the table. Ask for a side of pickles to add a pop of vinegar and crunch to refresh your palate. Baked beans had all the flavors you were hoping for with little nuggets of brisket and pulled pork mixed in. Overall: This is a destination place that any BBQ fan or enthusiast would love.

First time eating her for our nephews 17th Birthday. Atmosphere could not be better, fun place, Parking lot is under construction so that was a bit of a pain but food made up for it. We had a party of 7 and were here on a Friday night (they do not take reservations) we were seated within 1/2 hour. Menu choices was great, almost difficult to chose being a newbie. Disspointed that none of the dishes came with a side dish almost embarrassed for them with the one plate pictured, seriously throw some chips on the plate or something, they are getting a premium $ for their food too. Their fries are exceptional, almost like a crispy onion chip cool how they are sliced but again upgraded price for any add on's ranch dressing, sour cream etc... Food was very good but not the BEST I have ever had but for sure would stop again if in the area. We also had a very attentive waitress but our bill was quite high.?.?.? Otherwise could have gave them 1 more star.

Brisket was amazing, the hot link was tasty, the potato salad was way to sweet...

This place is amazing, from the outside to the inside this is something else! We had perfect service, our waitress was just amazing and the food was remarkably delicious! Only thing we didn't like was the potato salad, way to sweet and nothing crunchy in there, everything else was a pleasure

The interior was rustic and roomy. There was a fire going on outside in a fire pit. That added to the overall cold, Minnesota country vibe. I loved the bbq ribs. There was a nice crunchy exterior when I bit into the juicy ribs that gave it interesting texture. The beef brisket was on the dry side. The exterior could use more crunch and maybe coat it in peppercorn. They offered 3 different kinds of BBQ sauce. I mixed the first and second one for a perfect balance of sweet, tangy and spicy. Service was excellent. The bread the meal came with looked plain but was soft, buttery and thick, which I loved. The coleslaw was overdressed in my opinion. The sweet potato fries were good. Overall, I loved the ambiance, service and it was decently good BBQ for the area.

Ribs, Brussels Sprouts, Prime Rib, Mac and Cheese, Beans, pickles.

If you want to partake in the happy hour, you have to either sit at the bar or in the high top tables. We didn't know this and wanted their chicken wings on the happy hour menu so ended up switching tables. In addition to the wings, my husband ordered the corn bread app which was pretty good too! Wasn't a huge fan of the spicy butter it came with, but strange but the bread itself was good. The wings had a good seasoning and the house made ranch was really tasty! Surprised there were only wings and no drumsticks which I prefer and the wings themselves didn't have a whole ton of meat on them so I'd give it 3/5 on the apps I ordered the 12oz New York strip and at market price it was $62, came with broccolini and French fries. My husband got the turkey burger which he wasn't a huge fan of he said but he enjoyed the fries. My New York strip wasn't seasoned well - if at all to be honest but thankfully they had some leftover A1 from Mother's Day brunch where the bartender made some bloody Mary's so that helped. Can't say the food was a knockout but the service was really good. The bartender who was our server was conversational, great dude, and offered great suggestions. Host and folks were also really accommodating when we hopped around the restaurant so we could participate in the HH. All in all, great experience and nice place to try!
