Amazing BBQ spot! I'm not even a huge fan of BBQ, and this is now my new favorites! Get here early to beat the rush! They do not take reservations, but the place is huge and fun spot to grab a drink to hang out before your meal. MUST TRYS: Burnt ends, brisket, Mac n Cheese, and loaded queso fries! What a surprise to find in Hanover... Came here for my dad's birthday and got right in, even though they looked really busy. Everyone was very satisfied with their food, lots of flavor!! I was really excited about finding another BBQ place that I hadn't known about before. Maybe I've just become too picky or maybe Sunday isn't the best time time to go but I was very disappointed. The ribs were warmish and dry and lacked the smoky flavor I was hoping for. The fries were outstanding but more ketchup would have been helpful. The place seem to copy Famous Dave's with a roll of paper towels and sauces on the table. For some reason the staff seemed unhappy and unfortunately it expressed itself as rudeness to us as customers. I'm sorry to say that I felt like our experience was a big dud. read more

Really great first experience. Stopped in with my family today after a visit to a nearby playground. We were so hungry, and the portions did not disappoint! The kiddos got cheeseburger sliders, and mac & cheese, and the hubby and I created a tray of meats. We had a quarter pound of the pulled chicken, a quarter pound of the beef brisket, and a half pound of the pulled pork. We also got their barbecue baked beans, which had a ton of chunks of meat in them (this was my absolute favorite part of the meal) and a side of fries with seasoned sour cream. The meats were all tasty, but the chicken was my favorite. Service was quick and friendly, we got our food fast, and the environment was casual and relaxed. OMG I'm in BBQ heaven and this is Minnesota! I was blown away when we drove up and I saw the size of the place and then couldn't believe my eyes when we walked past the BBQ pits, freaking huge. The interior makes you feel like your standing somewhere in Texas with an equally big outside area. It was a Friday night and the place was rocking the hostess told us 1.5 hours and we were happy to wait since they have a big bar and lots of craft beers on tap as well as a good variety craft cocktails. As we walked to the bar 4 people got up and we snagged so seats at the bar and were able to order dinner at the bar. Bonus! OK Let's talk food. It was off the hook. They have a huge variety of BBQ meats, sandwiches and with Tex Mex options. As soon as I sa the Fat Back Mac & Cheese I had to have it. Disspointed that none of the dishes came with a side dish almost embarrassed for them with the one plate pictured, seriously throw some chips on the plate or something, they are getting a premium $ for their food too. There was a nice crunchy exterior when I bit into the juicy ribs that gave it interesting texture. The beef brisket was on the dry side. The exterior could use more crunch and maybe coat it in peppercorn. They offered 3 different kinds of BBQ sauce. I mixed the first and second one for a perfect balance of sweet, tangy and spicy. A place we've been wanting to go to for a while, since it is a drive from our home it has been difficult. The first time we went, we were in the area and tried to stop in but the wait time was insane, so we decided to postpone. The second time was more planned, we took the drive and the place was full but no wait time. We got seated right away. The food was delicious! The pickles were amazing. We've had the spot on our barbecue wish list for a while now, it's just a bit off the beaten path so we hadn't had a chance to go out this way. This last weekend we decided to go on a mini road trip because we kept hearing such great things and wanted to give it our own review. We came for lunch on a Sunday, the football games were on. The weather was beautiful. And the grill and smoker were doing their thing! It only took about 10 minutes before we were seated and the staff was so sweet and kind, can't say good enough things about the service we had. We ended up going with the beef rib special that includes two sides for $50. That sounds steep, but I promise you that the beef rib is so big you will be eating it for at least two meals! We also ordered some wing appetizers and for the sides we went with a combination of mac & cheese, coleslaw, baked beans, french fries, and potato salad. My husband said if we wanted to give it a true review we had to get all of the sides! now, her context we lived in Texas and we know good barbecue, and this by far is the closest we have ever gotten! These smoked wings were the best I've ever had! I don't typically like smoked wings because I don't really like when it falls off the bone, but these were really great Hardy wings that kept their form, had really incredible smoky flavor, and overall we're so crisp I would definitely come back just for the wings. The beef rib was also incredibly delicious, juicy, and even though it fell off the bone it was the best beef rib I've ever had. we will definitely be back and highly highly recommend this place to anyone who is a meat lover! read more

We are OG fans of Big Bore BBQ - so it was a no brainer to choose them to cater our wedding. I should start off by saying their process for booking is really simple - and you have a large list of items to choose from for any catering event. Our wedding was about an hour north of the Twin Cities and they accommodated us like it was right in their backyard. The food was absolutely fantastic, and we received so many positive comments from our guests about the food and the service. The price was pretty average for what other restaurants/companies charge for events so there isn't much to complain about on that front. I highly recommend stopping in at Big Bore BBQ for dinner, and if you are thinking about hiring them for catering - DO IT! A delicious and fun spot, not too far from Plymouth/Minnetonka! The ambiance is very Texas Southern with a woody interior covered in signs and buckets on the table with utensils. Service was fast and the waitress was kind and attentive! We started with the nachos and they were a delicious way to start the night. We ordered them with brisket and I couldn't stop chowing down on the delicious smoked meat. Definitely recommend this to start with. For dinner I ordered the tacos, and I was not thrilled. They were incredibly dry and salty - from what I've heard from friends I just ordered the wrong thing off the menu. However, the portion is HUGE - these are not street sized tacos, I had lots of leftovers. Good news is, I saved the filling for leftovers and it was great the next day when made into a new meal.
