Our first visit here and it was a nice experience. Monday pizza specials! $5, $6 & $7 pizza and toppings $1 each. They have their own brews plus many others. 40 available I believe it was. Pizza was decent and wings were okay. We will probably go back and try different food options. The subs looked delicious!

BEER REVIEW: Stopped in on Friday to retry the beers on a tip that they'd gotten better. The first time I tried their beers a year ago they were all unimpressive, not worth trying again. I've heard they made a change at head brewer and it shows after trying 5 of the 7 they had on tap. The Peach Cobbler Ale was surprisingly good and the IPA/DIPA were both solid. With 41 beers on tap (7 of their own) they have a very good and diverse selection of craft (and some macro) beers. The food is hit and miss, pretty simple, don't expect much. Best bet is to stick with the beer.

Found this place on the way home from a Memorial Day weekend in Antietam. It is kind of tucked away right off of the main road. We really enjoyed our time here. The logo and the name are classic. The beer was refreshing. I had the apricot wheat. The pizza was really solid too. The crust was thin and floppy, which I prefer. The prices were very good as well. Everything was pretty cheap. It was also fun talking to Bob. He gave us a hard time for our Philly teams, but that's what it's all about. I'd love to go back if I'm ever around again, especially when they have some music going.

We were in the back heated patio. My group was at least 40 people and they handled it well. Everyone had hot food, it came fast if you arrived late to order. Huge beer selection. Fenced in outdoor space, corn hole, food, drinks, live music, and recommended by a friend. And technically it had all of those things! And yet somehow, those things were generally only okay. First, music was inside and it was incredibly loud. So we go outside which was just.... A mess. Like, we got mustard on our clothes from an unclean table; food and napkin scraps all stuck in the grass everywhere you looked. Then, the service outside is through a window, which in itself is no problem. The issue is that it was single server on a Friday night and the line took a really long time. The food and drinks we did get, we enjoyed. Based on the other factors, I am unsure that I would make it a point to stop here when back in the area.

Our visit was great as usual! The service and employees are friendly and professional, making sure our drinks are topped off all evening. The large selection of beer has something for everyone from dark stoudts to juicy IPAs. They also have a great selection of cocktails for the non-beer drinkers.  The menu offered a variety to choose from and still reflects Shy Bear's commitment to serving  quality cuisine. The crab egg rolls were very flavorful and the Rueben was amazing. My burger was cooked perfectly and served with quality french fries.  The live music was great and provided a fun atmosphere for all.  Two words-- Jay Bird. Still the standard for all other IPAs!

The three things I look for in a brewery are an inviting outdoor space, accessibility to some good grub, and (of course) some quality beers. Big bonus if a place is dog friendly. Shy Bear easily accomplishes all three and earns a double bonus for welcoming our Doodle. The staff was great - they were packed but our hostess and waitress both made sure we were taken care of without being up-in-your-face. They understood both the food and beer menus and were able to make good suggestions. The overall atmosphere of the place was fun too - trivia night was going on while we were there and even the people who weren't playing along were obviously engaged. We had lunch not too much earlier, but we couldn't pass up trying one of the flatbreads that the waitress recommended. We were very happy that we did - just the right size and very tasty. We each got a flight of five so we got to sample a good chunk of their offerings. They had some unique variations like a cookies n cream sour and they also had some truer to original styles that I prefer - and I walked out with a four pack of their West Coast IPA to prove it. For sure I intend to try to convince Mama to go back again, get a room nearby, and sip on a few drinks outside when it's warmer - even though it's about a two hour trip! My rating scale: 1 - Just don't 2 - You'll survive, but there are better choices close by 3 - Good choice if you're in the area 4 - I'd drive 30 minutes out of my way just to come here 5 - I'd try to convince my wife to drive an hour just to come here

I visited Cold Springs Inn for the first time on a cold, rainy Saturday night for a solo date…read morenight--and let me tell you, this place was absolutely worth braving the weather for! Tucked away along Yellow Breeches Creek, it has that perfect "hidden gem" feel. There's a large gravel parking lot right across the street, so parking was easy, and I was seated quickly near the bar when I arrived around 5:15pm. Inside, it leans more bar than restaurant--and I mean that in the best way. Dim lighting, cozy vibes, and a laid-back atmosphere made it feel instantly comfortable. There's limited indoor seating--maybe around six tables and space for about 30 people total, plus bar seating--so I can see how it fills up fast. And honestly, this place is made for nice weather. The outdoor area along the creek looked beautiful, with tons of seating that I can already tell would be amazing on a warm day. Unfortunately, 49° and rain kept me inside this time, but I'll absolutely be back to experience the deck! Cold Springs Inn brews their own beer, with a solid lineup of house brews on tap, along with a pretty extensive food menu. I'm not much of a craft beer person, so I kept it simple--because I already knew exactly what I came for: The Big Papi. A grilled, foot-long all-beef hot dog topped with house chili, onions, and melted Cooper Sharp cheese on a toasted hoagie roll ($17), paired with a Diet Coke ($3)...balance. A short while later, my food arrived--on an actual baking sheet--and I knew immediately this was going to be something special. I've eaten a lot of chili dogs, and I have never seen one like this. It was a masterpiece: lightly toasted hoagie roll, a massive hot dog, an insane amount of flavorful chili, and perfectly melted Cooper Sharp cheese placed under the dog so it stayed in every bite. That detail alone? Genius. It was messy, over-the-top, and absolutely delicious--easily one of the best chili dogs I've ever had! I also stuck with the house-made chips, and I'm so glad I did. Thick-cut, super crispy, and heavily seasoned (which I love), they were some of the best chips I've had in a long time. I wanted to finish the whole meal, but I knew better--I cut the Big Papi in half before starting and ended up taking a solid portion home. The chips, however, didn't stand a chance. I love a no-rules date night! Service was great--friendly, attentive, and quick without hovering. By the time I was finishing up, the place had completely filled in, and there was even a group waiting at the door, which says a lot for such a small indoor space. One thing to note: while I was there, I saw on social media that they planned to close early due to the weather, so if you're heading there on a rainy or questionable day, it's probably smart to check ahead. All in all, Cold Springs Inn is a total hidden gem! Great atmosphere, great food, fair prices--and that Big Papi alone is reason enough to come back. And I will absolutely be back...preferably on a sunny day, sitting by the creek, with another chili dog in front of me.
