Visited Liquid Hero Brewing Company on a beer tour. I was immediately taken with the look and feel of the venue. It's a dark bar, but has a gentleman's club vibe going on that juxtaposes nicely with the high tech tanks and brewing equipment. The lone bartender was nice enough, but there were a lot of us so he efficiently dealt beers and took payments without much interaction. While there were A LOT of beers to choose from, most were around 6% and tended toward IPAs and lighter beers (as far as I could tell. The beer list was pretty small and I wasn't wearing my glasses). The beer snob in me ordered 16oz of the highest ABV IPA. It was just ok. I think this place would be cool to hang out in during summer months but the beers leave something to be desired. Doubt I return (I live in MD anyway!).

Driving through York, we stopped for a pit-stop beer, selecting Liquid Hero for their vast beer variety. Located on the other side of the tracks, a seemingly hole in the wall spot- easy parking (small lot or street parking)- inside was quaint, cozy, with a super friendly bartender (very local bar vibe) intrigued by their vast beer variety, we opted for a flight (8- 4oz beers $20)- while I really liked the ambiance, unfortunately I didn't really like the beer-the IPAs all rated very low for me- often tasting flat, syrupy, or just plain average- my favorite brew was the Coffee Beans Stout- roasty, deep dark- would have bought a 6-pack, only beer I really enjoyed- overall, while I wasn't in love with the beer, it was still a nice visit, I highly recommend for the small town ambiance (everyone's beers taste is different)

The drinks and food were amazing! But what really made my experience satisfying was the Bartender, Joy! Her name resembles her gracious attitude and made this out of tower feel welcomed!

Awesome little brewery I found on Yelp while visiting York, PA! There was a small seating area overall, but the tables were spaced out nicely. They a bar section, a few high top tables, and hen a few standard tables to choose from. The lighting was almost a bit dim compared to the light outside, which set a relaxed mood. The music was chill and made me want to stay and hang out all day. The bartender was super friendly and it seemed like a lot of locals were there to talk with him. They had 11 beers on tap and there was a flight where you could try each of them! It's perfect for a few people to sample and see what their favorite is. I enjoyed their IPA, and the Strawberry Wheat beer was also very tasty! They had a lot of strong, dark porters which were good, but I could not finish an entire pint of them. If you're into rich flavors, these beers are definitely for you. They also had a few options for snacks, like sausage and chips and stuff, just incase you got hungry. It seemed as though a few people also brought their own food. It's right down the street from Brewvino, so you could grab a quick bite to eat and a drink and then finish your day at the Brewery!

I was happy to see Liquid Hero was open when I was in town for a York Revolution game back in May. I was unaware that they were just across the street from each other which made it all the more convenient. The sampling room was like a nice little bar where you could sample whatever they had to offer for a few dollars each. I picked a few that sounded tasty and enjoyed them for the most part. The bartender was very attentive and helpful despite the fact that she was initially alone and the room was filling up fast. This is clearly a favorite for many locals. Always a good sign. Random note: Great bathroom! Clean, spacious...entertaining posters. I also got free stickers from the bartender! If I'm ever in York, I will make the time to patronize Liquid Hero again, no doubt about it. You can't beat a great product delivered by friendly folks.

"Good dudes, great brew." This is probably the best way to sum up Liquid Hero. Their business model seems simple; bring the flavor back to beer. In the last few years, microbreweries seem to be popping ip all over the place. Here in PA, we are fortunate to be in a "beer belt", if you will, with plenty of great local craft breweries. It has seemed, however, that there is always something crazier, or hoppier coming out all the time. This is great for seasoned tasters, but Liquid Hero really caters to a wider audience, with a variety of brews that offer something for every palate. Most of their beers are very enjoyable, even for those who are new to the craft beer arena or any higher quality beer. They are also continually expanding their choices. Liquid Hero's story is simple, three friends who started home brewing, and decided to take it full scale. Josh, Matt and Christian are all passionate about their craft, and it shows. They are all very friendly and are like proud parents, eager to show you around the brewery amd explain the art behind the scenes to those who may not know how brewing actually works. Liquid Hero is the farthest thing from being pretentious, its a great place to go and enjoy some tasty beverages with friends. There is also live music on weekends. Food is offered, but supplied by the Stadium Grill in York, just a few blocks away. Liquid Hero has put together a menu with them with prompt priority delivery service to Liquid Hero patrons. To some, this may sound unconventional, but it actually makes sense. The boys at the brewery really want to focus on the beer itself, yet still understand customers more than likely will want a bite to eat as well. By teaming up with the owners of Stadium Grill, they have accomplished this. Decent food in a reasonable amount of time, while supporting two great local businesses. "Drink Local" as their motto states.

Tiny bar. Low on ambiance but the beer and service are beyond reproach. Highly recommend getting the sampler and trying one of each here. Like most good craft breweries, don't be miffed when you get taunted for trying to order a Miller Lite.

I'm not a heavy drinker but I enjoy a social drink now and then. They have an excellent selection of seasonal brews for every taste. (I like more light beers while my husband and father in law prefer the darker ones) Food wise you can't go wrong with their BBQ. I had gotten a fish and chips special in March and I wish they still had it on the menu! Fish was so light and crispy, not greasy like most I've had. This time I had the half chicken which came with a corn bread muffin, baked beans and BBQ sauce. Chicken was so tender and juciy, I had enough for another meal. Husband had the brisket sandwich and just the plan brisket the next time. Said the sandwich was better, not as dry as just the meat. We made the mistake of ordering an appetizer and soup with our BBQ trays and all the food came out within 10 minutes of each course. Waitress apologized that the BBQ platters don't take long to get together so its just something to keep in mind. I remember the first time our appetizer and entrees came out later so it really depends on what you order. Both times we got the large pub pretzel with crab dip. So good! I do recommend reservations as it seems to fill pretty fast. It's a large open restaurant with beautiful decor and outdoor seating that will probably open up with the warmer weather. Just watch the timing and what you order or you might end up with a buffet like we did. Plus side, it was all good left over!

Got drinks - my husband was delighted with the beer options and loved the single hop All Citra the best, and he is a beer snob (in the best way!). The Sauvignon blanc was ok, but I realize that is not their focus. We had calamari to share - good flavor, but more pillowy than crisp. The platters are the way to go - $20 for a ridiculous amount of terrific food! The pulled pork was smoky, tender and homemade sauces were perfect. Sides of coleslaw, beans and a cornbread muffin were all tasty and a nice sized serving. I had enough left for another whole meal! The brisket was awesome too - got a chunk from my husband. Our server was Allie - she did a great job - there when we needed her, knowledgeable and nice as could be! The food is served quickly, which was nice if you are traveling. Overall, a fun experience in a beautiful setting and a very reasonable price.

You order at the bar and they give you a buzzer when your food is ready to be picked up at the window. My friend was excited because they had bourbon and burgers, which hit the spot for her. She got a black and bleu burger with a side salad and raved about the burger. I opted for a gyro with fries, and a German pilsner. My sandwich was good, but I thought it needed more tomatoes and onions. The fries had a kick and were a very generous sized portion. If I'm ever in the York area again, I'd definitely stop back in.

Went with the bartenders suggestion of the Rei Rei Sauce (Combination of Mango Habanero Sauce, Thai Chili Sauce and a smoky BBQ Sauce as described by the bartender). The server did a great job with making sure that our drinks were filled, and we had to go boxes and brought our food out in a timely manner. Some of the appetizer choices were the calamari, fried kale and crab claw lollipops. All three were absolutely outstanding, and the portions were large. For dinner, our choices are rockfish, lobster, mac & cheese, filet mignon, or grilled chicken green curry. Again, the portion sizes were large and everyone enjoyed their meals. We were able to choose from a flourless chocolate torte or cheesecake. I forgot to mention that the Caesar salad was so fresh and the dressing was outstanding. I would like to come back and experience the restaurant and their entire menu. The upstairs had a fun, urban feel with a fireplace and a cool bar. We felt comfortable and it was a fun vibe.

You see, back in 17th century England, private houses would open their homes to the public and sell food and beer. Hence, public house. Over time, they dropped the "lic house" and just called them pubs. Because you never dropped the "lic house" makes me think that you haven't evolved like you should have. And frankly, your food is proof. In fact, it even made me nostalgic. But not in the way you might think. You see, I loved making fun food concoctions when I was a kid. My sister and I would watch this corny show called "Zoom" on Maryland public television, where the kid hosts would make recipes sent in from all over the country. We'd make homemade peanut butter cups using Jif and semisweet chocolate chips. Or weird sandwich combinations like pickles and potato chips and cheese and jelly. The seafood egg rolls weren't the worst part of my meal, but they were definitely sophomoric--as if a kid chef-in-training was asked to whip something up from Chinese food leftovers. Seafood should never taste fishy, yet these did. One bite hit me like something that had been sitting a little too long above the waterline. Not to mention, they were laying on a greasy glob of some mayonnaise accompaniment disguised as a fancy garnish you'd see on MasterChef. One word: Ick. The ahi tacos. Oh boy. My mind fills with seawater the moment I think of them because they tasted as if they had been fished right out of the ocean and then placed on my plate. They were wet. Soaked. Drenched. The gelatinous seaweed clump on each taco wasn't culinary-forward, just unappetizing. I took one bite and wished I could spit it back out, but I reluctantly swallowed it. My esophagus is now aquaphobic thanks to you. The moment the coconut jasmine rice hit my mouth, my tastebuds took the red eye to the coconut tree haven of the Maldives. Normally, this wouldn't be a bad thing, but the rice and coconut had no cohesion. It tasted like my younger self dumping a handful of shredded coconut--the sweetened kind my mom kept in the pantry for the wool on her Easter-shaped lamb cake--into a cup of microwaveable rice. The only redeeming aspect of our meal was your kind, charismatic waiter. He was lovely in every way--attentive, sweet, and helpful. He would have been an incredible host on "Zoom." If only his personality made the food taste better. For your sake, I hope you learn to evolve your kitchen's offerings beyond the amateurish trio I experienced. If not, your restaurant's bones may end up fossilized alongside every other place that couldn't adapt.
