What a fun new concept. Fast casual style Big Boy. Wide open space with plentiful incoming natural light and a super clean, airy atmosphere. They have a fairly large menu filled with sweet breakfast favorites like Belgian waffles, hot cakes, and cinnamon swirl French toast. They offer trendy chicken and waffles. And then breakfast protein filled entrees like omelettes and egg whites. But if you're in the mood for lunch, there's a large variety of salads, multiple style chicken tenders and sandwiches as well as burgers. There's also a few classic Big Boy favorites like the Slim Jim and the Big Boy Burger. Now for the "review." I'll start by saying that I didn't grow up in Michigan and I didn't have that nostalgic connection that locals may. In fact my impression of Big Boy's traditional restaurants was all you can eat breakfast bars and greasy filled smells and food. Having eaten here, I'll say my option of this new take on Big Boy was a 180° change. I LOVE this place and this experience. It's clean, relatively quick and all made to order (versus food that's sat out for while). It still will satisfy most Big Boy fans but it now caters to a much larger audience. The highlights so far: - chicken & waffles (crisp, fresh, tender chicken breast atop a fluffy Belgian waffle). YUM! - Asian sesame chicken strips (similar chicken as above but a sweet, savory glazed coating). Delicious! - cinnamon swirl french toast - the cream cheese icing makes this a huge fav. "Think" cinnamon roll. - eggs - in the mood for protein - these were tasty but sorry, they can't beat the rest... I didn't try a burger yet, nor did others I was with. So I can't comment on those at this time. The service was fantastic and the environment pleasing. Overall, really amazing for a brand new restaurant. I'll be back soon.

Big Boy Art - slimmer & great breakfast

Bacon - crisp, eggs over medium-delicious. Very berry pancakes - good if you like nuts. I do. The fruit compliments the oatmeal-nutty pancakes. I miss the blueberry pancakes from Big Boy past, but the very berry multigrain was a good substitute. The meeting room is a plus. If you're an Optimist or other club looking for a meeting room, there's one here, with a screen!

Ok please read my review with a little caution. I'm old school first and foremost so I'm use to the old school Elias Brothers Big Boy. This particular location is definitely not my style. I'm not saying it's bad or anything like that I just personally don't care for this concept. Walking in it's brightly decorated with flat screens bright paint and a extremely updated layout and design. It reminds me of a cafeteria set up. You walk to the front counter order what you want go sit down and wait for your food. This is not what I'm accustomed to, nothing personable about this set up at all. Like I said earlier, it's very nice just not for me. I like the face to face relationship building interactions. This design makes you feel rushed to order your food. On to the food......it was close to perfect , no issues with what we ordered. I enjoyed my breakfast for dinner and the girls enjoyed their burgers. There were a few tiny things not worth mentioning that prevented me from giving it a 5 Star review. I love the fact that it's back in the neighborhood after they tore down the old location and replaced it with a Autozone. Ambiance was nice. Service was great, everyone was very attentive to us. Pricing is always fair. The location is a little hidden if you're not looking for it, if you're driving too fast you can easily zip right by. I'm sure I will return now that I know what to expect. The manager was awesome! Forgot to get his name.

I drove by this location about a week ago, and from the road, I could see that it looked modern. So today I decided I was going to come here for lunch. I walked inside and saw all the bright colors the high ceiling it. It feels modern. I ordered up bacon cheeseburger with white cheddar and BBQ sauce with a side of onion rings and an ice tea. The burger was delicious, and the onion rings were great. I will be coming back for lunch.

First order= Barely any avocado, avocado skin, and no sauce.

The bartender is bad because it takes forever for drinks to come to the table! tonight it took me over an hour to get a drink when I was sitting at table 1 and my food never even came out. It took over two hours before they took my food order' She came with the bill. Then I learned that she was the manager and she tried to argue with me about not paying for a drink that took Too long to come out! I had a party of four. Which was originally a party of two and then two more joined us, but the two that joined us got their food and drinks before we did! The table to the right of us got their food and drinks before we did! This is ridiculous. They planned a fight night party today and didn't staff enough people to handle the business they received! I was forced to pay for a drink that took over an hour to come to my table and then was told I was giving my food for free even though I had to wait over an hour for service and over 2 to receive it! The manager likes to argue apparently and doesn't care about customer service and customer experience! And i for one used to work at a restaurant and have over 13 years of knowledge! I was a manager a bartender and a waitress before in life! She is dead wrong. And she tried to blame her overwhelmed server! Reality check that there should never be just one server on the floor on a Saturday night

Left in the capable hands of Edith H, our server, we thoroughly enjoyed the beverages, food and overall experience. My cappuccino was perfectly executed - frothy and hot. The large portion of Smoked Salmon Scramble was delicious - fluffy eggs, large chunks of salmon and melted creamed cheese goodness with buttered English Muffin. My companion declared the Lump Cake Crab Benedict the BEST EVER. NOTE: a 20% Gratuity is automatically added to the bill. Edith was kind enough to encircle the charge when she handed us the check. Just one more wonderful thing about her and the excellent service we received. Parking is complimentary with plenty of spaces just behind the building. Total bill was reasonable, considering the quality of the service and tip worked into the check at just under $70.

She even refilled our drinks after we paid and were still sitting at the table chatting away. I wish I had extra cash on me because I when have doubled the tip that was left for her. As for the food... the nachos are always a table favorite. I tried the chicken tenders with BBQ sauce - which I believe is made in house - it's pretty perfect in BBQ flavor. Also had the brussels sprouts with Parmesan and lemon aioli. They were quite tasty as well. (No photos this time).

Walking in, there was very limited seating and about an hour wait, which clearly showed how popular this spot is. Thankfully, the hostess told us about their basement bar area where you can grab drinks and snacks while waiting. The drinks were REALLY good, and you can also order appetizers down there. Once we made it upstairs, we grabbed bar seating and talked to a few people around us who all said this was their favorite spot. Our bartender was amazing -- super attentive, explained the menu well, and gave great recommendations. We ordered the wings (perfectly seasoned and so good) and the chicken sandwich with buffalo added for a little spice... absolutely delicious. I also tried the pistachio martini, and wow definitely one of my favorite drinks I've had in a while. Overall, such a great experience from the atmosphere to the food and service.
