I decided to take myself to breakfast. This place is hoping in the morning time. This is one of the Coney Islands that you can sit in and a waitress is there to take your order. Your best bet is get here early because it close early. On this visit I ordered pancakes, bacon and cheese with eggs. Yes, I had coffee which was steaming hot. That was one of the best coney breakfast ever. The waitress was friendly and fast , the restaurant was clean and I wasn't rushed to leave. They do have a someone cleaning tables as soon as you leave. Pay your bill at the front and due tip your wait staff. I will return again for sure. Did I mention they cooked my bacon to perfection and I got about 4 good nice size strips. Once a month I go on a date with my children. This weekend me and Payne had lunch at Omega Coney Island. The parking lot wasn't on jam, so I figured we had beat the luch time crowd. We walked in and surprisingly there was a line. Five minutes later we were seated. Our waitress was a lovely single mother of 3 handsome sons all in their forties. She lived with her son and daughter in law... The coffee was good. The staff was friendly and the service was fast. The food was soooo good. The kid convinced me to order the Monster Burger. Omega is located on 8 Mile road just east of Telegraph and is one of the best neighborhood coney islands around. There is an adjacent private parking lot and there are busy spurts when you may need to park way in the back. Carry out is available at the counter as soon as you walk in. Dine is is also an option either at a diner like counter or booths throughout the inside dining room. The servers are super friendly. They really get to know their regulars not only by name but also remembering orders and small details about families and life events. The food is fresh and tasty and made to order. My very favorite is the salmon, grits and eggs breakfast. While it takes 20 minutes to prepare it is well worth it since it includes a freshly grilled salmon filet and not the usual croquettes prepared from the can. There's minus one star because they don't have biscuits and sausage gravy which one of the waitresses has been trying to get added to the menu forever. All on all this is my favorite neighborhood Coney Island around. If you want fast, fresh and tasty breakfast you should definitely try them. read more

One of the best coneys in the area. Flavorful fresh food in good portion sizes, very fair prices, especially for breakfast, great service and a team that's been working together for years. The kitchen and dining room are very clean, and this place is great to eat in our carry out. We each ordered omelets and hash browns - no frozen hash browns here! Fresh, sliced soft potatoes with brown crispy outsides. The best hash browns of any Coney/diner. I had the corned beef and Swiss omelet and they use Wigley's corned beef, so it was excellent. The dining room is nice and spacious, so even on a Sunday at prime breakfast time, we didn't have to wait for a table. So we decided that we wanted breakfast so my Daddy decided to take us here seeing that it was close to home.. I had never been before but I was glad we went! The food was good and hot and seasoned just right! Our hostess was very pleasant and friendly which is a plus (post pandemic) the entire place was clean and it reminded me of when I was little and my Daddy would take me out for brunch on the weekends we would go to a little truck stop which had the best breakfast. So it had that truck stop variety of good food without the actual truck stop! I'll most definitely be back! So whenever you're in The D (Detroit) make sure you stop by and tell them Niki sent you! Often when I order carry out, my order is incomplete. But this time I ordered an omelette and it looked like scrabbled egg parts with meat and cheese. I called to the restaurant to let the manager know about the cooks work. I told her I didn't want my money back I just had enough and wanted her to know. Instead of apologizing and being professional, she denied that my complaint was even valid. She told me that if I feel like this I should never come back, that they flip their omelette so we so I'm lying and that she is the manager of this place. I said, so is this how you conduct business, you think I'm taking time out my day to file a verbal complaint for nothing? I bought my kids and myself breakfast, it's supposed to be a good day. She said, yes this how I handle business and my business and doing quite well, thank you! I then said, I'll just have to write a review and she told me to go ahead and that it wouldn't hurt her business, as she laughed in my face. The unprofessionalism took me by surprise, the turning point was once I told her I was from the community that her business is in, and this isn't the first time, she started to get rude, which makes me think she is racist toward black people or have a stereotype. You can not necessarily tell I am black from the tone of my voice. At this place, It's okay if we SPEND our hard earned money, and to give a compliment but it's not okay to let you know how something isn't right . Most professional establishments, seek this as a way to improve for customers, and I bet the cook doesn't even know of my complaint! Not to mention, my family stomachs have been hurting all day since eating from here! I'm not sure who's cooking today or how well they're storing their food but something isn't right with this place. The owner has a evil spirit and she laughed my complaint off. Every customer to this business is black and needs to reconsider! And she doesn't even have respect for us, clearly! Located right next to an old shut down tim Hortons. There is a fairly large parking lot. Walking in it was very crowded with a line almost out the door. There was about a 20 minute wait for a table. The food is good and priced well. An omelette, 2 pancakes, salad, cheese burger and mash potatoes was 24.00. I usually judge breakfast places on pancakes and waffles. The pancakes were good and slightly dense in a good way and about the size of the plate. The service is good, I'll return soon. read more

A good clean coney place that has been on 8 mile for a long time. This review is for the salads of which I have had several and have never had an issue. Never wilted/brownish lettuce : ) The salad is more than enough for a meal size. Came here for my birthday breakfast and ordered my usual number 3 breakfast special. This comes with 2 eggs, ham, 2 strips of bacon, 2 sausage links, and your choice of grits hash brown or pancakes. I choose the hashbrowns and added grilled onions and cheese. Of course everything was cooked to perfection and served to us within 10 minutes. My mother had the meat lovers omelette. This used to be my favorite spot to stop it so grab some good home cooked food but now they close at 5 PM daily so I guess they decided to cater to the unemployed because employed people are at work during these hours and of course closed on Sunday also. This is the meet and greet place for old heads and new heads. Staff is nice and the food is good--pancakes are awesome and huge! Reminds me of the kind my mother used to make when we were kids, light and airy not doughy and heavy like some places make them. The last couple of times I went for the steak and eggs. Yes, I occasionally treat myself. They offer the ribeye cut or T-bone. While both were delish, my preference is the ribeye which although thinner was so tender and juicy. And did I mention the hashbrowns? Brown and crispy where it needs to be and tender on the inside, add onions and you're in Nirvana--no yucky shreds. My son and I have been coming to this spot since he was a little boy--he's a grown man now, so he takes me and we'll be coming back for more as long as they continue serving good food. read more

This place was so good! The service was great and the food was even better. The prices were great and the atmosphere was very homey. The portions were big I was able to share hasbrowns with my mother. It was great and would recommend to anyone!! I've been here twice. Both times, my service was good. Personable staff. Pretty standard menu for a coney island. The food was served pretty promptly. Clean and spacious dining area. Kids menu not very populated, containing only hamburgers, hot dogs, grilled cheese sandwiches, and chicken strips. I didn't ask about breakfast though. It's not crowded there, but it's always bustling with a good family vibe. It's definitely a place I could return to. read more
