There was a buffet, which I took a look at, but decided against it. All you can eat fried chicken wasn't really something I was looking for. Inside the place is decorated with the typical rustic country styling of any other barbecue place. Picnic tables, lots of wood, that sort of thing. I was told I could sit anywhere, so I picked a spot with lots of light so I could read while waiting for my food. The wait staff were pleasant, and I had no complaints there. I decided to go with the Three Choice Meat dinner, which means you get three different meats and two sides. I went with ribs, smoked turkey, and the brisket for the meats, and then fries and baked beans as the sides. The ribs were decent, though their barbecue sauce wasn't spicy enough for my tastes. The brisket was fair, and I enjoyed it. The turkey is not something I normally get, so it was a nice change and had a solid smokey flavor to it. The fries and beans held up well, as I like to have the bowl of baked beans there to pour barbecue sauce on top of, then use it as a dipping bowl. Keeps things clean, too! All in all, this is a fair place for barbecue. Nothing truly outstanding about it, but not bad either. If I were in the area and really felt like barbecue I would have no problems going again, but as it is a good hour away from home if I am heading to Middleburg for food I am going to explore the rest of the options in town before returning.

Everything arrived cold. The bun on the chicken sandwich was visibly old and stale. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich, but the piece of chicken was so microscopic I couldn't even see it under the greens. Speaking of the salad, the lettuce and tomatoes were old, wilted, and covered in brown spots. Most of the food was so unappetizing so I just left it right on the table. To make matters worse, when the bill arrived, they had tacked on a forced 23% group gratuity. Given the abysmal food quality and the incredibly cocky attitude of our waitress, there was no way I was paying a 23% tip for terrible service and food. My individual bill came out to $19, so I rounded it up to $20 and left it at that. Instead of handling it professionally, the waitress actually came back to the table demanding to know where the rest of the money was, insisting I had to pay the full bill. When I refused to pay an outrageous tip for substandard service, she stormed off to huddle with her colleagues, and the entire staff proceeded to glare at us as we walked out. Tipping culture in the US has gotten totally out of control, and it's absurd that customers are expected to bankroll employee salaries while the restaurants themselves bring in plenty of money. If you want a bigger tip, try providing actual good service and edible food instead of acting entitled. Safe to say, I will never be returning to this "food shed."

As always it was delicious! The best way to describe this sandwich is it's like a sloppy Joe but with chopped brisket. One of favorites here is the hamburger.
