While I'm walking around looking at cars, I hear the man inside the office loudly complain about some "nig..r" who had moved the rock that held the door open, as a woman tried to adjust the door. We just purchased a 2010 VW Jetta for what we think was a great deal. When my neighbor saw us pull up he thought it was a brand new car. The car looks new and runs great. Just a few squeaks and noises you would expect from even a much newer car. This was the 2nd car we purchased from them and when needed we will go back again. I went to Big C motors to purchase a car after my car was repossessed. This economy has definitely got the best of me. I was able to save up some money for a used car and decided to go to Big C to purchase a used car. My husband immediately spotted a Nissan Pathfinder which was exactly what I was looking for. The car was in excellent condition considering it was a used car and perfectly priced. We immediately decided to purchase the car but ran into issues getting insurance. Purchased a vehicle from them in 2019. I paid a very fair price and there was very little haggling involved. The dealer cleaned up some of the bodywork before putting it on the lot. The front bumper was painted and the headlights were riveted on, but they did a decent job and the bodywork has held. Initially, I (a mid-twenties adult) went by myself to just look at what was on the lot and they were hesitant to loan the keys for a test drive. Revisited the lot a week later with a parent and the same person gave us the keys without issue. Felt profiled, but we made a deal in the end. read more

Do NOT make the same mistake I did and buy a vehicle from Big-C motors in Linden. This is a 100% REAL and HONEST review. Here is my experience: I recently purchased a 2004 Nissan Quest minivan for $2700 before tax and fees. It was listed higher, but upon test driving the vehicle it was determined that it needed ABS sensors so we worked out a deal. Aside from that I was told the vehicle was totally sound with no known issues. Well... The VERY FIRST TIME I drove the van IT BROKE DOWN. It has a serious transmission issue leaving the van virtually powerless from a stop through first gear. It comes and goes and is incredibly dangerous to operate. I immediately notified David (owner?) and he said he'd "work with me" and then sent me to a mechanic he recommends. It was diagnosed as needing transmission speed sensors. I had new ABS and transmission sensors installed and it did not correct the issues. I was then told to go to a transmission specialist recommended by David. If issues were found with the transmission, David said he would credit me back for the van towards another vehicle on the lot. I went to the specialist, but the guy I was told to speak with was on vacation. The very next time I attempted to drive the van the alternator went and I broke down on the Turnpike. 3 hours, a push from the Turnpike Authority and a $180+ tow later, the van is back in my driveway inoperable. I was leaving for vacation the next day but I notified David to let him know that the van has broken down again, has another issue, and that when I return I'll take him up on that credit that he offered. When I got back from vacation I went to the dealership to work with them on getting into a safe, operable vehicle. I didn't expect to be reimbursed for all the work I'd done to the vehicle, the tow, the taxes, fees, licensing or the headache this his been. I just wanted a credit for what I paid for an INOPERABLE, UNSAFE vehicle from DAY 1 towards another vehicle. Instead, they offered me $1k as a trade-in towards something else. They treated me as if I were just some guy off the street trading in a busted down van. Rather than "work with me" and take back the VAN that BROKE DOWN with UNDER 10 MILES on it...they chose to go back on their word instead of doing the right thing. Do NOT buy a car from this dealer. The most shady guy I ever dealt with. I bought a 2006 Nissan Altima the car was sold to me not even cleaned. I drove the car for three days I did not even drive 40 miles. The service engine light came on and the car was shaking. I took it to a mechanic he said bad coil, bolts and gaskets we're missing wrong fluid where anti-freeze goes the car is a mess. Over $700 later. I called the owner he told me too bad it's as IS. They don't stand by their cars. He knew it was a coil I didn't even tell him. They are shady people. Save your money and aggravation. I really hope this helps someone. This place is absolutely horrible. I went there w a couple of my friends to buy a car and I purchased a 2012 Nissan Sentra that was fixed to work slightly just long enough for a test drive. I purchased the car and had the car for 1 hour and I broke down in the side of the road to find the transmission is completely shot. On top of that the car was missing clips for the front bumper as well as the alignment of the hood and bumper being completely off. Both front tires are feathered because The tire rod is shot. Dave said he put thousands of dollars of mechanic work into this car before i bought it only to find out he was masking the issues not fixing them. A month later I took it to a mechanic because it was running funny. Turns out it has a cracked engine block, bad turbo, bad transmission and multiple other issues that would cost me thousands in repairs. When I told them what was wrong with my car they refused to take it back or refund me for it. Dave was very rude and dishonest. That's embarrassing. I was told how great the car ran for an older car, and how it would last for a while. It didnt even last a week. It had an oil leak which everyone knows oil on a hot engine causes a fire. Then the second day driving it. The mph gauge spun in a 360 and the car stopped dead in the middle of a parkway where a cop had to push me off. I also had to pay a 200$ tow that these people refused to cover. All these people do is take your money, they are bullshitters. DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM THIS PLACE. even the linden pd has been dispatched there numerous times due to the bullshit these people pull. I purchased a car from here end of March. I was told the car was in great condition for its year, everything was recently checked and only thing that was needed was oil change and brakes. After purchasing I took the car to several auto shops where I was told there was damages on the car that would cost nearly the same price I paid for the car ($4,500). There were several oil leaks, needed new brakes and motors, all struts were broken, a huge dent in the transmission causing the transmission to not work properly and air filters that had no been changed since the car was manufactured in 2005. AND AN ANT INFESTATION. I understand this is a purchase as is place but some of these issues are ridiculous and should not be on the market or atleast have the customer aware of if you're planning to have this on the lot. And I'm waiting for DMV paperwork for over a month now. They just need to do better and be more upfront about their business because I definitely feel cheated. read more

My mechanic showed where the hacked out the catalytic converter to which I had to spend $500 to have it installed. Terrible experience. They had a car I was interested in, so I went there to look it over. With no questions asked the lady gives me the key to the car and allows me to look it over unsupervised. So after I looked it over I went back to her and told her that I was interested in test driving through car to see if the transmission is good and if so then I would want to bring it to a mechanic for a professional opinion. She said they are wiling to bring the vehicle to a mechanic a block or two, but no further and I understood that, so I said then I will have my mechanic come here, but I still wanted to test drive the car before I made that arrangement. She was against me test driving the car and said it was up to another guy if he would allow that or not. So this guy comes out, no greeting or way about him and said I will only let you test drive the car if you are going to buy the car today. I said how could I answer that question if I don't know how the car drives? He said that's how it is, if I'm not ready to buy it then I'm not test driving it and he isn't going to hold the car to have my mechanic come look at it, because he has a lot of people interested in this exact car and he isn't going to hold it in hopes that I buy it. When he said that I handed him back the keys and told him that he was a terrible business person, he didn't seem to care. It's obvious that these people have a scam going on. What exactly it is? I am not sure, but why else wouldn't they let me test drive the car before I bought it or allow me to have a mechanic look at it? And by the way, the car has been on the lot for a month now, yet he has a lot of people interested in it..... hmmmm.... I wonder why it is still on the lot if it's such a great catch. My recommendation to all potential clients is to stay away from this business. There are plenty of other businesses out there who want to earn their clients trust and business. Pleasant experience with Dave and Tracey , car is perfect for mother paid for it in full. Clean underneath and engine runs perfect it was worth paying little extra what they got it for ,of course that's why their in business for. I knew first start these models have seat belt buckle wire problems, well known ,but should be recalled but for some reason is not. 60.$70 replacement buckle .this is also reason for passenger air bag light indicator on. But this was too good to pass up . I give them two stars because Dave went too far selling me the notion that he spent $1800 on up grades two minutes before I first started the car in the lot and seat belt shime was on the whole time after I buckled up,to run through interior features. Dead giveaway. Two stars for Dave's over confidents he should have not sales pitched that the car is completely mechanicaly sound two minutes before I saw the elephant in the room. This little repair should have been part of the $1800 he said he spent on it. EBay part is on it's way $72 free shipping. This should take undo ing battery in driveway and 1hr. Time in my driveway.
