I visited this dealership for a vehicle advertised online at $4,995. After I provided a $1,000 Zelle deposit, the final itemization jumped to $7,550.06 plus a $1,120 'prep fee' and a $799 'doc fee.' My Navy Federal pre-approval fell through because the dealership was overcharging for the car's actual value. They were upset I refused their alternate financing and are now refusing to return my $1,000. Their excuse for keeping my hard-earned money? 'Internal expenses' and a 'FedEx label.' I have filed formal complaints with the NJ Division of Consumer Affairs, the NJ MVC, and my bank. I called about a car I saw online . Nicole give me very little information and when I asked for more she : stated I must come in and she would talk to me more about it." When pressed about what other fees there were she refused to answer and stated I must come in first. There is about $3999 of fees to buy a car here. When I asked to speak to the owner she transferred to Doug who was a sales person and would not give his fully name. This is very suspicious. I like to know who I am speaking to. red flags all over! was approached by a spanish guy saying their car lot has cars ranging from $6,000 & up. when i tell you i was interested i was interested. i look around the sales guy named brian super nice showed us car's that we thought is was decent to pay in cash. saw 2 jeeps 1 that we test drive jeep cherokee 2016 it was nice outside / inside. but there was issues the mechanic that knows about cars saw rust on the car door, the alignment was off, the sensors were off , paint was peeling off. so we sat down with brian and the sales price was $8,995 otd w/o warranty $10,000 with warranty $11,002. now brian literally told me on the lot that the cars that have the sign no warranty is because allegedly in nj if it hits a certain year they have to have it that way, but when he pulled out the numbers with otd pricing i was shocked! 1st he said that it was 3 months warranty then the whole show changed up. we negotiated $6,000 cash because the mechanic who knows about cars saw and drove the car and it has defects. we went from $6,000-$8000 without warranty because the sales manager anthony was doing what most dealers do talk the talk. brian if you're reading this get yourself a manager who won't beat you how you stated and anthony how he confirmed while talking to unknown customers. talking about both are parents, and anthony married and having a girlfriend as well. because the price we offered was not what they wanted. not only that anthony stated if you buy this car and it's giving you problems dont come back here and basically ask for help to fix it. like who says that to unknown customers? highly unprofessional not only that smelled alcohol in that room of the manager and drinking from a red cup a dominican sales man handed him! looks could be deceiving. thankfully i didn't buy anything from this place! run, walk, fly but don't recommended even looking here!!!! bad bad bad! and anthony wife i'm sorry but your husband who buys you expensive things is cheating on you! run girl! read more

I originally put $500 down to hold a used car I was going to purchase here earlier in the year, but I backed out and decided to purchase a brand new one from another dealership instead. In May, I decided to purchase a used truck I saw on the lot and was able to put the original $500 towards it. I paid cash and was able to negotiate a price I was willing to pay. I purchased it with 283,000 miles and so far, I haven't had an issue with the truck, it does everything I need it to do. I keep wanting an excuse to trade it in on a new one, but it's solid and won't quit! They even helped me get a Registration and License Plate for it from Louisiana, my home state, after I paid the taxes on it. Scammy dealership it's sad what people have to do for a couple of dollars. Never gave me a bill of sale with the hopes of me not realizing I was scammed until I went back a year later and found out they marked the car up to 16k on paper but listed it for 10.9k and never told me about the mark up. During me purchasing the car I asked Anthony multiple times within text and in person is the 4500 I'm giving him going towards my loan and he told me yes every time. After I also gave him the 4500 I asked for receipts or itemized bill and Alex said and I quote "the registration is the receipt" so that I would have no proof of what I paid for the car or what I just gave him. He was able to con me because I was a first time car buyer,but fast forward a year I realizing they just pocketed my money. I reached out to Anthony and couldn't get any response so I just showed up. Once I got there I couldn't even get a word out without Alex talking over me trying to intimidate me, all while Anthony is sitting right there( he was my salesman) but couldn't even talk for him self and just let Alex blurt out lies, what a clown. I demanded a refund and explained how I was never shown a bill of sale nor was I given one and then Alex went and printed out a random paper that didn't even match any of the information of the transaction, let alone it wasn't even signed. Nicole the front desk lady also had a nasty disrespectful mouth and tried speaking to me when she's not even a salesperson let alone knew anything about the situation. Alex also had the audacity to disrespect me and ask me if I wanted to work there as if he was trying to insult me as if I need money as if they aren't the thieves stealing people's hard earned money .My total loan amount was somehow 11,600 after I gave them 4,500 cash to put towards my loan, so in reality my loan balance should've been 7,000! I financed a 2013 g37x so you mean to tell me that I was tricked into paying almost 17-18,000 including interest for a 2013!! They talked fast and made me believe that the money I was giving them was going to the financing company. I'm 100% going to take this up with my lawyer and take legal action so that I can get my money back and more. I WOULD NEVER recommend getting a car from here. I wouldn't even give them ONE star! I purchased a SUV back in July. ALEX swore up and down that this was a reliable truck I was purchasing. A 2014 Range Rover. Now, I know that when you buy a used car, there can be expected problems. I'm a Cadillac person. I totaled my Escalade the week before and was searching for a reliable SUV. I was NOT in the market for a Range Rover which I did not know anything about. ALEX befriended me a couple of years ago when I purchased a car for my daughter which has minimal problems which I accepted. So, I accepted his line of BS that he was going to "take care of me" and that "he would never sell me something that is garbage". He really was a wolf in sheeps clothing. I am a very trusting person. A retired firefighter with a fixed income living paycheck to paycheck. Now, here's where everything went seriously wrong. THREE days after the purchase, the hydrolic lines that support the suspension system blew. A few days later were the front control arms. Next were brakes ($1500.00) and battery ($400) A month later, a fuel injector blew. ($1400) Shortly after, the rear differential went. ($2500!) FOR TWO WEEKS NOW, my truck has been at my mechanic waiting on the part which I finally found on ebay. ALEX assured me that he would help me out with these atrocious repair bills. He has since been avoiding my calls to his dealership as well. But, in the past months SWORE TO MY FACE that he was my "friend" and he would not let me down with this. THIS TRUCK IS A COMPLETE LEMON! I can't believe people can be so dishonest to someone's face. But then again, I am a very trusting person and expect that from others. Shame on me. He even went as far to show me pictures of his newborn and offered to meet up for drinks at a Portugese restuarant in Newark like he was my buddy. It's sad to think you can get lied to with direct eye contact with a person. Again, shame on me. Right now, after 5 months of owning this vehicle, I have put over $6000.00 into repairs! Money I don't have and had to borrow from a friend. I am going to explore every LEGAL route to get this word out about his dealership and HIM especially, and warn others who are looking at cars in his lot. After several weeks of waiting for my plates I called them to report a problem the car and they told me to come and get my motor vehicle package and discuss the issue. When I arrived they gave me a handwritten title and told me that I paid them 700.00 for the temporary plate. This dealer Cars by Aj are very dishonest and scammers. My son sent them his $3000 down payment for a 2016 SQ5 on the 4th of March using zelle/debit card. When he went to collect the vehicle they changed the agreed downpayment from $3000 to $4000. He declined the offer because it was out of his budget and requested his $3000 downpayment back, the salemans tried to sell him another car to which he also decline the offer and asked again for his $3000 downpayment. After several attempts by phone and email he went to the dealership in person in attempt to get back his downpayment but to no avail. He then went to the Rahway Police to get help, then after he returned to the dealership again and the Manager called the same Rahway police on him. Its now the 8th of April and my son still hasnt gotten back his $3000 from them. After weeks of trying with no success, i told him to leave reviews so people would be aware of this dealership, they are now trying to get him to remove the reviews for him to get back his $3000 after weeks of begging for his own hard working money. Worst place I've ever bought a car. I called and asked for the condition of the car multiple times and multiple times I was told it's in perfect condition. I flew all the way out there and it has about 40 large scratches on the paint and touch ups, the moonroof won't shut, the touch screen has issues, the water pump was leaking, the timing belt was filled with holes, and much more. It's been over a month and they won't send the title or answer the phone. They answered the first 8 times over the last few weeks and always said they'd call me back, but never once called back. Now, they don't even answer the phone. I have no title and can't register the car, and meanwhile they have all my money. This is the most poorly run dealer I've ever dealt with. read more
