Big Daddy Bagels is a nice little bagel shop just outside Downtown Golden at the end of Washington Ave and Highway 93. I went to Big Daddy Bagels to get a large order for a large brunch party at home. Placing an online order was super easy through their website, and I was able to specify how many of each kind I wanted (plain, everything, etc.). It is also easy to add on cream cheese and more if you need those for at home. I placed the order about two days before, and specified what day and time I would pick them up. If you place an order online you'll get an email when the order is complete - check your spam folder because that's where it went for me. We went it right at the specified time, and the order was ready on a shelf off to the side. This is for the Golden location** They make delicious food, but be prepared to wait 25 minutes for a toasted bagel with cream cheese. I put in an online order at 7:58 am for pickup at 8:30 and it wasn't ready until 8:45. Place was not busy. While I was waiting, another customer had ordered, was waiting quite a long time for her toasted bagel and eventually had to cancel her order because she was going to be late for work. They need more staffing or a better system. I don't understand why you can't pay at the same counter you order at, either. read more

I decided to check out Big Daddy for the time, and I was disappointed with the service and subpar quality bagel. I ordered an egg and cheese bagel. I am not sure of the pecking order on how they disseminate their order. I fully know they have some orders that take longer than others, but when you have two to three orders of people who come in after you and they get their food first, then you have to question it, in my opinion. I had to ask where is my order, and they said they were working on it. I even tip very well before I received my order. Shame on me! Oh well, perhaps I am overreacting. They offer Daily Specials on the hand-written board. Waited about 10 to 12 minutes or so for our order to be ready. Do take note, if you opt to order a Pizza, this will take awhile since they Bake The Pizza To Order. This establishment was kept clean and there are a couple of tables and seats if you intend to have your meals dining in. If I am not mistaken, Hubs opt for a Roast Beef "Wrap" Sandwich ($5.95). Inside the "Wrap", Hubs opt for lettuce, tomatoes, red onions and pickles. While I opt for a Portabello Mushroom Melted Bagel ($6.50). My order comes with Marinated Portabello Mushroom, SunDried Tomato Spread, Feta Cheese and Melted Provolone. Both Hubs and I like our order. C opt for a Small Cheese Pizza ($10). I wish I could give this place more stars because the bagels are pretty good, but the service here is horrendous. This is the second week in a row that I've come in, ordered 1 bagel, and had it take 45 minutes! The problem looks to be all of the online orders and smoothie orders. The lady next to me said she had been waiting over 40 minutes as well for her bagel. If this place cannot keep up with in store orders, they shouldn't be taking online orders and those online orders should definitely not come before customers waiting in the store. The customer service is also very lacking. I went up to the counter to ask the cashier a question. She looked at me and said, "what seems to be the problem?" There was no, "how can I help you" or "can I get you anything?" At that point because of how unprofessional and rude she was, plus the fact that my 1 bagel had now taken 45 minutes, I told her to just cancel my order and give me a refund. The texture was dense and reminded me of bagels that had been under-proofed or boiled too long but they were still tasty. Also liked that they carried juices.
