Be prepared to wait a bit longer than you'd like... The ambiance of this place is the best thing it has going for it. It's something nostalgic for all of us. They also have really cool branding as well as free stickers. It really bugs me when establishments SELL stickers and I have to pay you to promote you. Anyway, full disclosure about my experience there...I accidentally ordered a salad when i wanted a sandwich. I had to wait about 15 minutes after I'd ordered to find this out. I very nicely went to the manager and explained the situation. I explained it was my fault and asked what we could do. They offered to just swap it out which was very nice. I'll spare you all the details about exactly how the interaction went down but the overall story was that they took a very long time before. I actually got my food and started eating it. It was a total of about 35 to 40 minutes, which I know I had made a mistake , but I feel like that is too long to wait for food, mistake, or not. The Italian sandwich I got was fine. I'd say 3.7 out of 5 stars. Def good enough to go back for. Add the ambience to the equation and if I lived in CO, this would be a go-to spot for me in Golden. I'd just ask that they please please figure out their workflow to make the sandwiches faster. read more

I stopped by Snarf's on 09/18/2022 and ordered a Big Fat Snarf (choice of double corned beef, pastrami or half corned beef and half pastrami with swiss, mayo, mustard, lettuce and pickles, $20.60) with pastrami. Service was quick and easy. The gigantic sando felt like it weighed over 5 pounds! I'm convinced it was sent straight from heaven because it was absolutely amazing. The pastrami was so tender and bursting with flavor! One of my favorite hot sandwiches I have ever eaten! Every bite was better than the last. They really packed in the meats, making it entirely worth the steep-ish price. My husband and I were able to fill up on it for lunch for two days. Cool little sandwich shop in downtown Golden. Their large meatball parm sandwich is massive!! My husband could only eat 1/3 of it and saved the rest for later. I ordered the eggplant parm, but after we paid they said they were out so I went with the portobello mushroom. Our kids had the PB and J, and Reuben. Friendly staff and pretty quick turn around for our order which was nice. I liked the quirky and fun logo packaging and artwork. Everything was good with the exception of the cup of Gouda soup. It was a bit weird IMO. Tasted like a cross between Campbell's tomato soup, chili seasoning, and a 1/4 bottle of gritty/chunky Parmesan (it was Gouda). There were also two or three small chunks of what I think were stewed red peppers? I don't know y'all. It was weird. Sure it has a following though since it's on the menu. Not a fan of this location. 20 minutes for two sandwiches while there were maybe 4 other couples in the store. The sandwich was made wrong and missing au ju. I called to let them know to try and be polite as possible (they forgot my au ju altogether when I asked for extra) just opened my sandwich and it's made completely wrong. Pretty disappointed in this location for a few reasons. Seems to be run by a bunch or high school / college kids who don't have basic communication or customer service skills. The one guy making our sandwiches had his mask slipped on his chin the whole time while making our sandwiches. I'm not going to debate the mask thing because it's not worth it so I just can't visit this location any longer. I love the vegetarian options! The artichoke feta sandwich is my favorite. The one downside to this location is parking, but that is not the restaurants fault so can't deduct stars for that. What a cool find. Atmosphere was pleasant and the store was very clean. The cashier was very engaging . The sandwich selection was decent. We had the Corn-beef with Swiss and the eggplant Parmesan. Great ambiance at this little underground sandwich shop. If you know the Ann Arbor area at all, this place smells like Zingerman's. It's quaint but touristy. Very clean, with fast paced service. The staff expertly moves guests through. As we sit here, there are at least fifty people in line, yet it's moving and doesn't feel too crowded. Sandwich selection is very good. They offer meat and cheese combos and then you choose the toppings. The meat and cheese options are very extensive. As for food quality, this place isn't anything out of this world, but it's very good. I would put it on par with a Potbelly Deli. The ingredients were tasty, but they blended a bit. The bread was a high point: very crusty but fluffy on the inside. I'd had better sandwiches as a whole but it was pretty good. All in all, this place gives off a very trendy, hip vibe. Horrible! Absolutely horrible! On a busy Monday afternoon, 12:30, line full with grandmothers and children waiting to get their sandwiches. A very disrespectful, unaware, pimple-faced kid behind the counter, is dropping f-bombs like a drunken sailor. Loudly chatting with his coworker, completely oblivious to how upset the people in line are. In the minute that I was standing there I heard this kid, in a loud voice, drop four f-bombs right in front of everybody. F this f that, f, f. People in line looking at each other in disbelief. I asked to speak to the manager. Somebody went in the back and grabbed a guy named Bill. He could care less that this 16 year old kid was shouting F bombs in front of their customers. Snarf's has been really hit or miss lately, and unfortunately it seems more "miss" than "hit." Yesterday was the worst experience yet and will ensure I don't return for a while. After waiting in line for a few minutes, I attempted to place my order. Unfortunately, they were out of the NY Steak ... and the Brisket ... and the Italian ... and the Prime Rib. Okay, I can make do. I ordered a Meatball and Provolone, and a Vegetarian, with a few toppings including tomatoes. At that point the cashier told me they were also out of tomatoes. Tomatoes! Which could have been purchased at Safeway which was less than a mile away. This couldn't have been said earlier when telling me all the sandwich meats you were out of? No offers to discount my sandwiches, or give me a free bag of chips, or a free drink. Also, no sign on the door indicating they were so out of product (they did tell me that something had happened with one of the deliveries, but it seems like it'd be a better idea to tell customers with a sign on the door so the poor cashier doesn't have to repeat it over and over?). While waiting for the sandwiches I sat down and was glad I did not plan to eat there as there were crumbs on most of the tables and a lot on the floor. Not clean. The worst part was when I got home and found out two critical parts of the Vegetarian sandwich were missing--avocado and sprouts. The sandwich had lettuce, onions, hot peppers, and seasoning.
