Hard to believe we almost missed this place! We passed by looking for the springs to go kayaking and Big Daddy's smoke rising up from the pits caught my attention and before long, the smell of smoking meat reeled me in. Nevermind we had just eaten lunch, there's always room for some killer Que and we were NOT disappointed! The biscuit sandwich melts in your mouth and the beans are so next level! I've never tasted anything like it and can't wait to come back for more! Just when I thought this place couldn't get any better, enter the super nice and personable owners and this place completely stole our hearts through our stomachs. Phenomenal food and service! I don't take it lightly saying this, but I believe this might just be the best barbecue I've ever had anywhere in the United States and I've eaten a lot of barbecue!! Literally from the ribs, to the beef brisket to the smoked chicken was so tender, juicy, smoked just right, and full of flavor. Don't get me started on the sides as the baked beans and ground meat is so savory and over the top the best I've ever had. Paired with the macaroni and cheese with that golden brown baked top on top of it is just an extra treat. So many other amazing items on the menu that I may have to go back in a few hours for dinner just to try some of the other things I didn't get to try yet. Oh, and by the way, the pricing is so reasonable for the portions and quality you're given, that just tops it off, with kind and welcoming service to boot. Everything was really good! Brisket and pulled pork dinners were huge! Will get two meals easy out of it. Baked beans were really tasty. Okra was delicious and could tell it was fresh. Chicken tenders were really flavorful and tasted homemade. Mac and cheese was also really good. Owner was super nice and I highly recommend checking them out! Don't call in regards to having something catered. I just moved to the area from North Florida. I am getting married and had asked around for places that cater a down home feeling good meal. I told to call Big Daddy's in Bradenton. I researched the place online first. However there was 4 various Big Daddy BBQ's that kept coming up under different owners. I called this location asking for an owner. I wasn't trying to discuss wedding catering for 200 people with a person answering the phone. Especially with it sounding busy in the background. I was respectful and when I asked for the person I thought was the owner the girl on the phone got rude and hung up. She had no business answering a business phone. A complete biotch answering the phone she was. When I asked who was the owner or possibly a catering specialist she hung up in my face. Now they lost my business. My wedding business. And I will make it a point to trash them every chance I get on all socials. Thanks heifer my family is coming from South Carolina and OF COURSE wanted great BBQ. But you made sure that didn't happen. I am new to the area. You might have been out of my area. I might have been calling the wrong place. You might have been the best place. But slamming the phone down in someones face as they are trying to get info on catering and whom to speak with just ruins a business I know your hateful selfish ass doesn't own at all. read more

I love Big Daddy's Barbecue! Everything I've had is amazing! We recently had them cater a party for 20 folks. We had ribs, pulled pork, brisket, chicken, potato salad, macaroni and cheese, and cole slaw. Everyone loved the food! There was more than enough food, everything was absolutely delicious, and it was all priced fairly. I highly recommend them for a great take out or patio dinner, or for your parties, reunions, weddings, showers, etc. They are the nicest folks and will help you plan the perfect amount of food. Awful, don't waste you time. First thing is they were out of what we asked. Chicken, coleslaw, etc. despite just opening. Secondly the "pulled" pork and brisket were not pulled at all. It was more like ground out giblets. The prices were high and the portions were small. But none of this would have really mattered if it tastes good. Sadly it was barely edible. My brisket was terrible. My first bite was a huge white and clear rubbery bite of gristle and tissue that destroyed my appetite. I then hoped it was a fluke and tried for another bite with more disappointment. Every attempted bite was fully of either fat or gristle with very little edible meat. The pieces that were meat were tough and chewy, where it gets stuck in your teeth, not what you want when you eating BBQ brisket. My husbands pulled pork was almost the same way and I couldn't even taste a difference between the two flavor wise despite the large price mark up for brisket. Altogether I was thoroughly disappointed and will not be returning back. What a waste of time and money. Go a minute up the road to mike and Anna's instead, much better food and prices. read more
