One word: Wow! Terrific sear, and the burger was NOT dry. Great beefy flavor, good seasoning, cheese is fully melted, the veggies are fresh and crisp, the brioche bun is perfectly toasted. Glad to have a generous leaf of lettuce rather than confetti lettuce from a bag. If I could change one thing, it would be a thick slice of tomato. Two things? A thin, full slice of onion. I like the 1950's drive-in vibe. Order at the window or call-in your order. Burgers are made to order, so do not fuss if it takes 10 minutes ... certainly worth the wait! My fiance and I tried this place out tonight via DoorDash because of their cheese curds, and everything was very tasty. We split an order of the cheese curds and the onion rings. The onion rings were super crunchy, even after a 15-minute delivery drive, and the cheese curds were nice and melted. My fiance got the Jake's burger and liked it, although he said it wasn't very spicy, and I got the Philly burger, which is more like a cheesesteak, and that was delicious; I also added mushrooms for an upcharge. This place would get 5 out of 5 for me except for the delivery prices - I looked at their regular menu, and most of their sandwiches have an extra $3 added to it (see my screenshot below). Oddly enough, the onion rings only had like $1 added, but the cheese curds also had the $3 upcharge. (And I'd say for both the cheese curds and the onion rings, you only get enough for one person ... Well seasoned delicious burgers here! This was on our summer eating list and we were finally able to try this stand. First of all, the gentleman who I believe is the owner will go way out of his way to assist and help make all of his customers happy and satisfied. It is an outdoor stand, so I was a bit worried it would be too hot, I do not love eating outside, but there is a nice covered awning and some picnic tables, and it was very comfortable near the water. They have a nice selection of burgers, chicken, and hotdogs, plus sides and dessert. I had the classic cheese burger. It was so tasty. I also had a side of their Cali sauce which seeks to imitate In and Out Burger, I enjoyed it. I tried their waffle fries, which are pretty good. Plus it is a good deal to get the fry and drink add on since it was about $3.25 for a side of fries, but $3.95 to add the fries and drink, so I got a Pepsi. I also personally like to only eat about half a burger and take the rest home for the next day and see if the burger stands up to the next day deliciousness test, which it did, it was just as flavorful and juicy the next day. There were a few hiccups though. The kids orders both got messed up and needed to be remade. Then, unfortunately, when they were remade, they were still not quite correct, or as they ordered them since one was missing ingredients and the other one got the same ingredients that they asked to be excluded. I know the owner would have probably tried again, but I did not want to bother him about it. They just ate it anyway. We were not able to get the ice cream due to the ingredients but for those who can eat here, the menu looked very enticing and even included vegan products. The owner was very helpful in looking up ingredients for us. We would probably come back for the yummy burgers and sauce. The food takes awhile since it seems to be made fresh to order. There is a nice crowd, so it also seems like there is a nice turn over of product to keep it fresh and delicious. read more

What a fun little place!! I saw the pic of the donut & shake on Yelp and decided I had to find this place after work. So two surprises: I ordered my husband a burger and fries and then saw they offer a Beyond Burger also! Very rarely is there a meal for me at these fun drive up places! Don't let the fun, convenient, quaint scene fool you when it comes to these drive-in burger spot. You get more than meat thrown on a grill. The potato buns have always been fresh when I come here and the service is aware of their small business, they hustle hard but don't be rude, they mean their business -- the best and only drive in spot around. I have a special admiration for their special sauce, they rid of the usual thousand island version and instead have a zingy, slightly horseradishy, garlic aioli that's amazing on literally everything. Onion rings aren't breaded in house but they're consistently cooked to perfection. That's one thing about this place that brings me back; it's consistency on top of its affordability and convenience as a late night local spot. The cool thing about this spot is the ice cream parlor attachment, they have a great selection of quality local creamery and offer a variety of treats. Our company is local in this area, we do 10-12 person orders regularly to support our crew. We love supporting local business with good food. The reviews listed the burgers as being really good, we thought we would give them a try. I called the day prior to confirm a few things-being able to take an order of that size, timing to call in or place order online, and what forms of payment, along with their hours. I called my order in 45 minutes prior to needing a pick up. I was told by the wonderful Alex that " no idea when we could pick it up, an order this size will take up his whole kitchen". I ask "what do we do wait for you to call me, do I show up in 45 minutes what's the program? " He couldn't tell me when we could pick up the order. I ask if he wanted the order has said "at this point NO" Wow, your local business must be doing well! He informed me he was the mgr, and that whoever i spoke with the day prior could've been anyone including a 15yr old. There is more but you get the jist at this point. Sad that a local establishment treats customers this way. Burgers really good!! Chicken dippers are a hybrid chicken nugget/tender. Most pieces are larger than average nugget but a quarter of a tender. Breading more on the nuggets side. Kids liked them along w the burger. Waffle fries are good but could use some seasoning. I had the double classics burger. I'm impressed w the patty sizes. Juicy greasy burger, YUM!. The big dip sauce is unique. A good compliment to the burger. Idk if it oniony, garlicky or horseradish-y. My wife had the jalapeños burger. She swapped the pepperjack cheese for the ghost pepper cheese. She said it had a good kick she liked it. Not too much heat to handle Now dessert, the s'morey night is a beautiful sweet piece of art. Delicious soft serve vanilla custard, hot fudge, mini marshmallows , graham cracker cereal (my fav, I would do extra next time), chocolate chips, and whipped cream makes for a great ending for a good meal. Was searching for a local place that served dairy free ice cream and decided to give this place a try. Great location directly across from the lake (beautiful view when it was sunset time). Parking is limited to less than 10 spaces, so it can be a bit tricky if you go during the summertime on a hot, sunny day. It is a very small building with an ice cream trailer separate on the side. Ordering was simple; staff was very friendly. I asked if they had a blizzard (was looking for ice cream in a bowl with mix-in toppings.) I ended up with an Oreo shake instead of a sundae. Miscommunication somehow during the ordering, but my husband said the shake was delicious! The dairy free butter pecan was delicious! I highly recommend adding in waffle pieces like I did because it gave it even more flavor. Cost about $12 for the shake and sundae, so no different than Dairy Queen prices. There was only one employee working in the ice cream trailer, so it did take a little while to get the order. Will definitely be visiting again! read more

I got the Jakes Hot Mess Burger for myself and the Onion Burger for my boyfriend with a side of regular waffle fries and Cajun fries. I was also able to try the chocolate and vanilla swirl custard with a Yelp check-in deal for a free small custard (which no one seemed to know about)! I had big expectations after reading great reviews on Yelp and google, but wasn't very impressed when I actually tried it. The food overall was quite salty, especially the Cajun fries. The custard was smooth and creamy, but nothing too special.
